The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I felt that she was too fast (took her 20min) and I would've liked to not feel as rushed as I did, also she only did one coat of the pale pink base color on my nail and I would've liked two coats for a more even look. And the woman in there were all Vietnamese but all of them spoke very good English, which is exactly what I wanted because sometimes when they speak rough English its hard to know exactly what you're getting and its easier to have a conversation with them. read more

I'm new to the area and I went in because it's close to home. Went in without an appointment at 4:30 on a Tuesday and they took me within 20 minutes. Super appreciated that! The gal who did my pedicure, however, was not the best. She acted annoyed with me that I didn't have my own file...my own file? Really? Then when she was filing my toes, she cut me twice. Also, there is a sharp corner still on my big toe that is stabbing me. Then, as I came in spur of the moment, I asked if they had those disposable flipflops, as I had worn tennis shoes. She said they did, but they cost $3.00. Wow. I passed on those. Used to be a regular here when I first got my nails done but found another salon that did my nails much better and I found out what was wrong with my nails when I got them done here. The lady is always distracted whenever she does my nails, talking nonstop to whomever is in the room. She does my nails so quickly that at times they're out of shape but because I just started getting my nails done I didnt know that my nails weren't supposed to look like that. I enjoyed that they were fast and efficient in doing my nails. I usually go somewhere else in town as that is my main place, but Topline Nails has saved me a couple times when my main place was busy. The only thing I would suggest is that they do a better job at filling the solar nail to the cuticle and also not shaving it so harsh that the cuticles look beat up. For instance, the last time I was there the lady shaved off a bit too much from the bottom so it already looked like I needed a fill in less than a week of getting them done. :/ Otherwise I was pretty happy with my service and the nail techs were also nice as well. read more

They were uneven and cost $49 for a set of shellac without any design.. she rushed me, too; my full set was done within 35 minutes, and she didn't let my nails cure the entire time they were supposed to. Normally I wouldn't go out of my way to write a negative review because of poorly done nails (which the set of acrylics I got yesterday is, poorly done and very ugly) but during my visit at Top Line Nails I witnessed deplorable hygiene!! While filing the edge of a freshly glued tip on my right hand pinky he tore my skin open and it started bleeding. With no gloves on he dabs the blood away with his thumb and continues shaping! At this point my pinky is still leaking blood and he shapes and places the acrylic with his nail brush while continuing to dab the blood away bare handed as necessary. He pauses to superglue the cut shut so it will stop bleeding, and finishes shaping the acrylic with his electric drummel. His brush was swished around in a small plastic bottle with an inch of some dirty orange cleanser and placed right back with his clean instruments while I was still sitting there after definitively having come in contact with my blood. He did not wash his hands before he began working on his next client. I will try to post photos of the nails and cuticles I'm left with :( read more

I called shorty after they opened to set an appointment for later in the day. Took my information "down" and said to come in at 4:15. When I arrived, they had no appointment down for me. Stood over my shoulder as they asked what number I called as if they didn't trust me. Said they would fit me in and started soaking my fingers in acetone for 15 minutes. After my fingers started to get dry, I took them out. He then started to do my nails and asked if I just wanted a color change. I told him what I wanted when I walked in the door. After I told him again, he said he didn't have time and stopped working on my nails. Now my fingers are dried out and nails look scratched up cause he was rushing to get the color off. I have heard nothing but great things about this place and is very disappointed. I will never go back. To have them question me in front of the whole salon and go back on what they said is horrible business. Plus not to mention how my nails look now. Nothing like being questioned and embarrassed. I live in both Oregon and California. I normally get my nails done in California but extended business visits to Oregon caused me to need a nail person in Oregon. My visit toTopline was horrible. I came in on a Thursday for a pedi, an acrylic fill and shellac. It only took her an hour for all of those services. When I pay for a pedi, I expect some filing and a foot massage. She didnt even take time to look at my fingernails when they were finished curing because she was already with someone else. BTW there was grey shellac showing through my new red shellac because she didnt take time to be sure it was all filed off before applying new shellac. Saturday I had to return because the shellac was peeling off on both thumb nails. Trina fixed them and told me it is because the way their lights are you have to be sure your thumbs are turned upright. So this time I laid my thumbs flat with nail bed pointed up. If there is an issue with your lights and you are aware of it, then get another brand. I dont have this issue with my salon in California, and Ive been going there for over 3 years. On Sunday the shellac on one of the thumbnails had already started peeling off AGAIN. I left a message stating that I needed to come in on Monday, that I had a business appointment and expressed that I was unhappy and I dont have time to keep coming into the shop. I went back in Monday morning and asked for all of the shellac to be removed and refund the $15 that I was charged for shellac. Han removed the shellac. I asked him to check the thickness of my acrylic because it was 2 extra filings on my thumb nails and 1 extra filing on the rest of my nails, which I had just paid $20 for the acrylic 3 days prior. Of course he didnt bother to check and rushed me out after filing off 3/4 of the acrylic I had just paid for 3 days prior. On Wednesday the acrylic on one thumbnail chipped off, on Thursday the other thumbnail chipped, on Friday a ring finger chipped. I run 2 households each in a different state, I run a busy successful business and I care for a husband with a fatal disease. I dont have time to be in a nail salon 3 times in 5 days and still end up with 3 chipped nails within a week. I also need to have a professional appearance and I cant be walking around with 3 chipped nails. When I had left a message explaining to Trina that I was very upset and I didnt have time for this, she was very verbally rude and also told me I was hostile and not to come back... I was shocked that she thought she needed to tell me not to return... I would not had considered returning ever. I have money to go anyplace and I am not a cheap ass but I wont be taken advantage of either. She charges way more than she should for the quality of service given. BTW I am not a newbie to wearing nails, I have been wearing them for 26 years and licensed for 23 of those years... and my nails are worn very short, just past my free edge, because I dont have time for broken nails. When I got out in the daylight I could see that it was awful and I could see right through them, Acrylic nail extensions and all under the gel. I just asked her to cover them with colored acrylic powder undr the gel and she did not do that and she could speak perfect english. What was it she could not understand? My mom and I went here for pedicures and they were great. Lots of colors of polish to choose from, comfy massage chairs and nice, friendly nail techs. The guy who did my mom's toes sold her on getting a teeny flower painted on each of her big toes, so of course I had to get one too. It's perfect for summer and flip flop season, like a miniature work of art that fits right on my toenail! I'm no fake nails, airbrushed tips kind of girl, but I'm gonna tell you, I love those itty bitty flowers in white and silver on my purple toes. Every place I called said they were booked and I couldn't get an appointment. I called Top Line Nails and the guy that answered was kind, spoke clear English, and rushed me in as soon as I could get there. I've been going to Topline Nails, and seeing Han and Trina for 13 years. Since I turned 17. My mom, sister, and grandma all go here too. My gram has been getting her nails done with Han for 20 years. When I moved to central Oregon I started going somewhere else and realized just how good I had it back in Salem. When I come back Han said I cheated on him and he would fix the other lady's mistake lol Shellac only cost $15, a pedi is like $22, and acrylic is only like $30 or something. Most people get there nails re-done every 2 weeks, but they do such a good job, I only have to go in once a month. I will NEVER go anywhere else. read more

I thought I had finally found a decent nail salon in Salem, since it seems much harder down in this area than my regular Clackamas area but, I was wrong. I had a nice solar nail job done by Linda which was great but I went in for a fill today with Trina and was NOT satisfied. She was very rough...I get it, you are trying to get it done fast so the next warm butt can replace mine but the customer experience shouldn't suffer for your profit. You can clearly see the line from my old fill and the new one, and the gel is scratched up looking. And another pet peeve is the charge for the crummy file because I 'forgot my kit', I know all salons are doing it now though but it is ridiculous. I will not be going back. read more

Having only moved to Salem a few months back I have been looking for a good nail salon. I chose this salon because it is close to my home. I called on a Friday and was able to schedule an appointment for Saturday. I got there a few minutes early. I didn't really have to wait. I told the gentleman who was doing my nails exactly the shape I wanted. I also stated I wanted to try the chrome powder polish. We chatted for a moment and he went to work. The end result is awful!! The shape of my nails is wrong it looks like acrylic was just globbed on my nails with very little filing for shape. He then started to do the chrome powder. While you can kind of tell it might be chrome, it is splotchy and bubbling and in some spot just missing. Since this business is closed Sunday and Monday I couldn't even call to complain, much less have them fixed. I am having to go to a different nail salon that is able to get me in today, because another day of this mess is to much!! It turns out the man doing my nails is Han the owner. He did not take a lot of time doing the set and was dismissive when he was done. Not to mention the fact that my total bill was $57. $20 of that was for almost non existent chrome powder! I will never set foot or hand in this place again!! read more

I am impatient haha and hate sitting for an hour to get a fill like at some places I've been! Kathy gives an amazing pedicure, so relaxing and she doesn't insist on talking while you're relaxing in the massage chair while she works her magic. Linda does an incredible job with my gel nails. I've been going for months now and have only had one nail break. When I had my nails done by other techs at other places they came off so often I gave up getting nails for years. Trina is hilarious and Hahn is business like but gets in on the salon talk too. The price seems reasonable and the fact that the staff speak more than one language doesn't bother me. I'm jealous and wish I were multilingual. I wish they didn't allow children at the salon however, because there are a couple clients that bring unruly children that scream, cry, throw fits and make it hard to relax. read more
