Overpriced & Terrible! Went last week for a gel fill & got the worst manicure I've had in 15 years of getting gel manicures. The woman who did my nails said she had been doing nails 29 years which is crazy to believe. When I first sat down she looked at my nails and said- Oh your nails are good. Huh!? I said- Well yes but they are growing out, I want a new color & need them shorter. After she did the gel base I told her how my nails felt so thin and I could see the white from the natural nail through the pink gel (which I've never seen before). She just kept saying- Yes that's your nail. As she painted my nails she was blobbing it on and the color didn't set flat. Nails were not even painted all the way down to the bottom on some. She had to put many layers on my pinky nail to cover up the natural nail showing through. The gel fill was $60!!! More expensive than most places in town which I wouldn't mind paying if it was actually good. And I was nice enough to tip her 20% b/c I'm nice. Now less than a week later 2 of my nails have chips out of them b/c they are so fragile. I would not go back there to even have anyone attempt to fix them. It was a mistake trying this place after seeing people recommend them. I definitely won't be back! read more

I don't usually leave reviews but the pedicure was BEYOND disappointing- not even average. No exfoliating (although was listed on the chart in the store as part of the service), about 15 seconds on each foot of the pumice stone and a 5 second rub of each leg. Worst Pedicure I ever got. I went here yesterday with my daughter for a regular pedicure and gel Manicure. Both my technician and my daughters only put one coat of color on our toes. I told my I needed extra spacing between my toes because of the way my toes overlap. She didn't do that and by the time I go home one was wore off. I will say she did an excellent job on my Gel manicure, although it wasn't a real manicure, she did not trim my cuticles. My daughter's gel manicure was not so good. Again not a complete manicure. Did not trim cuticles and one of her nails is all jagged. Definitly will not go back here. I don't know how they have gotten any good reviews. read more

This place doesn't offer a no chip option. They force you to either do gel or normal Polish which is clearly of poor quality. went for a regular manicure which chipped terribly bc of the low quality nail polish they use. I went in the next day to fix and her response was they don't "guarantee" chip free on normal polish. she did my nails again but with such a nasty attitude. I will not return. read more

Just an FYI.. gel, nail lacquer, and dip powder shades do not match for all of the colors they have. At first I wanted to get a nice baby pink, but was informed that in dip powder it was basically all sparkle and completely different than what they had on the wall. I decided to choose something else, a nice purple since Easter is on Sunday. I choose the color and she begins, it looks very gray but I figured it might change once she puts the clear coat on... but nope. I immediately said that this was not at all the color that I wanted to the woman doing my nails stops and discusses with the owner. Her response was, "oh yea, they are a different formula so it looks different." Then why is it advertised as if they all are completely the same? This was now my second choice that was not even in the ball park of what I was looking for. She suggested putting a light lilac gel on top but that would be even worse to me than the gray color. This is not at all how I wanted to spend my afternoon or my money. I was completely unsatisfied, frustrated, and disappointed with my experience. Oh and on top of that, there is no calf massage during the pedicure, and she completely changed the shape of my nails from an almond to basically a circle... I decided to come because it was highly recommended by a friend, but I'm afraid today will be my last time. read more

After trying this location and the manicurist (3) times. I can honestly say they are mediocre. I am a give everybody the benefit of the doubt type personality. However, I would never after my experiences at Hillsboro's Nail Salon, - Top Line Nails ever recommend anyone to go there. I have never experienced such a poor disposition/attitude from a proprietor. I was on time for my appointment, followed protocol, washed my hands wi a few moments after entering, and then went to the wall with all the color samples, and proceeded to pick a color. In a few min. I had selected two colors and was ready to receive a manicure. However, before sitting down the sample colors were grabbed from my hands, and I was given another group of colors, that I had no interest in looking at. I only have gotten gel manicures, and the samples I was looking at are exactly for that purpose. This is the 2nd time Lisa, the older proprietor, has been curt, standoffish, rude, and mean spirited. I thought maybe there was some miscommunication or language barrier. As I did not react. I just went with the flow. However, she just kept trying to push her way on me, a dose of meanness, a dose of somewhat normal amicable behavior. Until I called her out on her behavior and let her know she was "way off basis with a can't be bothered attitude. I had been there the month before and asked for my ring fingers to be painted with an alternate color by another manicurist and like most nail salons it was "no problem" I had an idea of what I wanted, not (100 %) sure and asked for input, again no problem, reason being because she wasn't there - an over the top "control freak" This is the 2nd time experience with her (Lisa) a nasty/moody, all about the sale, and (not at all) about the customer. Turns out the color samples on the wall often don't match the gel nail polishes in the bottles. To compensate and fool the customer, Lisa gets huffy, upset and nervous and mistreats her new clients who may be a little naive, not knowing what to expect. Because she can't be upfront from day one, and when she realizes you're not a wall flower, and you're not going to take her crap, she changes her tune! I called the Salon (4) days in advance to schedule just a manicure, and was about to bring to the scheduler's attention, that I wanted my nails to be shaped a little different beforehand, and although I had no intention of getting a pedicure, instead of saying NO, I went with the flow. I'm very choosy about pedi's because I have been hurt by other salons that did not have enough experience/certainty of what they were doing. I have been cut with both nail cutters/ and drill sanders. However, the scheduler didn't give me a chance to ask any questions, she just abruptly cut me off in conversation and asked if I wanted a pedicure. A lot of manicurists work in sweat shop type environments, that have the mentality of herd like get em in/get em out!!! It reflects in their personalities, not all are like that, watch out if your manicurist has had a bad day/post menopause!!! I felt so stifled by her. Truth be told I think, Lisa was ticked off, I canceled the pedicure a day in advance. You would think after "28" years and being a family business, that over booking/scheduling too tight would not be an issue! What ever happened to good customer service & repour. After two separate occurrences being subjected for a 2nd time, to a terrible lack of kindness, bad attitude, contrary to what love thy neighbor as thy self/golden rule is all about, being haggled/pressured so bad I would never recommend/suggest Lisa at Top Line Nails - Hillsborough route 206, NJ. The other two manicurist tend to be more customer service oriented! read more

The women are very friendly and I enjoyed chitchatting while I was there but the pedicure I got left much to be desired. I didn't have time to sit and get it re-done so I had to take off the polish as soon as I got home. It was unfortunately not wearable. Lots of bubbles and very uneven coats. Have been going here forever. Even though it's out of my way, I come here because the other salons I've been to are just not up to par. It's not a communication issue with the other places, but that Topline Nails does a better job. I get gel polish and everywhere else I've gone, the application is too thick. All the ladies at Topline apply the gel polish perfectly, so they feel natural. I like it this way because I keep the gel polish on for a good 5-6 weeks. In addition, my eyebrows always look flawless after they wax and shape it. The salon is very well-kept. Everything is clean and the atmosphere is very positive. The place is almost always packed with regulars like me. I usually ask for Tram, but everyone else is excellent, too. Perhaps I prefer Tram because my routine mani/pedi/wax appointments double as a therapy session with her because she has a Masters in social work. This is a family business, so don't be surprised that it's staffed with educated professionals. I agree with the positive posts here on Yelp, but the negative posts I think are more about preference than the skills of the staff (and what got me to leave this very long 5-star review.) Each customer is different and each one's requests should be accommodated. I always communicate if I want something done a certain way and I will leave a poor review if my request is not accommodated. It's the same for massages, I am really careful with reading reviews because it seems like the problem is the lack of communication. With that said, it's unfair to leave a poor review because the place isn't staffed with mind readers. Let them know how you want it done, it's that simple! Their Instagram and Facebook pages are filled with custom nail designs. They've done all sorts of designs for me including a sugar skull. Tram is very artistic, I don't know how she can hold her hand so steady when she's painting small, delicate designs. I thought that a gel manicure (25) included a manicure. Sadly, it only came with a quick buff and polish. One of my nails had cracked and they had to put acrylic over one nail and charged me $5. I am on a desperate hunt to find a decent nail salon in the Hillsborough area and so far I am 0-2, this place being the most recent. The ladies who work here are very nice, but other than that this nail salon is just not good. The place is very outdated, not a nice salon at all. My gel fill was overpriced, I paid $10 more than the salon I went to for years before I moved, and while the woman who did my nails bragged that she has been doing this for 35 years, the polish job was terrible- bumpy and ridged. Hi I was at your nail salon today with my mom and I had a really bad experience there. The guy that did my moms nails was very rude and the nails look horrendous. He walked away from my mom before her nails were even dry because he did not understand what design she wanted.....The snowflakes don't even look like snowflakes. What happened to the customer is always right? If you can't do a design, give her to a colleague? This is supposed to be a happy and relaxing experience I'm very unhappy on how we got treated. Also, when he was taking off the previous polish, he was hurting her! She said something and he said "this is how I do my work on everyone, I'm not doing anything different". If you have a sensitive client, you need to accompany them and work differently. It literally ruined my moms day because she was looking froward to it and instead left crying in the car on the way home. There was cotton hanging off all her nails too because he didn't even finish!!! Very disrespectful environment. As a client for over a year, I expected better treatment. I would give zero stars if possible. I made appointment for first time there. Gel manicure and regular pedicure. The owner Van never soaked or cleaned up my nails. He also never told me he was putting acrylic under my gel. I asked when he said ok done why he didn't do a complete manicure only polish my nails? He said I was fine!! Then Lisa the other owner did half a pedicure. My toe nail was half polished and all 10 toes looked like my young granddaughter spilled polish on me! And my heels were more cracked and rough then when I walked in there. I asked Lisa and she said to use Vaseline and socks for a week!! Then they charged me extra for acrylic and gel. Never once told me this upfront. I did not want or ask for BOTH. Cheat the customers. Not good. Bad business and awful service. ZERO. All polish peeled off right away. FAIL read more

Went once. Won't ever be back. Was talked into getting a gel polish instead of acrylic because "it would last 4-5 weeks." $40, plus $5 to fix a broken nail. Okey, I did it. Only, four days later, two of my nails chipped. I went back for them to fix. Another tech "didn't know where to get" the matching color, and if she did redo both nails (these nails that I just spent $45 four days earlier, mind you) she'd have to charge me. Because the chips were small and my nails are long enough, I consented to her filing them down to cover the chip. See? I'm reasonably easy-going. I almost hit the roof, though, when she refused to cover the two nails with an extra coat of clear gel, saying that I "didn't need it." I then reminded her that I didn't need to return to this salon *four days* after dropping almost $50 on my nails, but there I was! An argument started until she turned to the owner--the person who did my nails earlier--and said something in Chinese. The owner must of consented because the tech then begrudgingly covered the two, just -fixed nails with gel. JUST the two. So, yeah, never returning. Overpriced, with substandard results, and coupled with inept costumer service, this is one salon I will avoid. read more

Love this salon!!! I moved to this area a few months ago & tried several places...This one is the best by far! I always have issues keeping polish on my nails for more then a few days without chipping/peeling (even with gel) & here my gel manicure stays perfect for at least 2-3 weeks! They have an amazing selection of polish from basics to the latest trending colors & styles... I always have a hard time choosing! Lol Super friendly staff, they do a terrific job & I always feel welcomed coming in. I would suggest making an appointment as it is a smaller family run business & can get busy but I've never had an issue scheduling one within a day or two!!Excellent place, highly recommend!!! read more
