I happen to be in town for a friends wedding and didn't have time to see my stylist in San Francisco before making the trip. Hair Unique was able to get me an appointment that worked with my travel schedule, and Laura did a fantastic job. Her upbeat and fun personality along with current knowledge of trends and treatments was a perfect match for my expectations. Laura talked with me for a few minutes, looked at my hair and discussed what I had come in for (a Balayage treatment) and then gave me her own artistic thoughts on what we could do to maximize the out come of what I wanted - the sun kissed effect of Balayage while not over doing it due to the overall lightness of outgrowing my hair. After a quick chat and and agreement to freehand some low-lights in addition to the highlights we were on our way. Laura's composure is quick, confident and fun. I loved the outcome. Toned down overall brightness with light natural shine. Her free hand technique is great for extending the time in between appointments, which is awesome both from a hair health and pocketbook standpoint. I came in at 6 one night (they close at 7) the girl stayed late just to get my nails done. I had been in a while because my life got busy and they still remembered me. I haven't gone back since Feb 26th (so about two months now) and shockingly my nails have not come off or lifted. I always try and get my nails done every two weeks but life gets in the way. I have very sensitive cuticles so whenever I've had an event to go to I used to have to go days before because they would be red or would hurt. NONE of that happens here. The place is always clean and they always use new materials. They also give you the option to purchase your materials there and keep them in your own box for the next time you go. They have a wide selection of colors and services they offers including airbrush (for free). If you get pink and white they have 3 options for the pink you can use. I love this place and recommend everyone there. The prices are cheap and they do a great job!!

I would get comments on my hair that were along the lines of "you have such beautiful hair if you would just do something with it". I tried for years to do something with my hair with little success. When my "eh" stylist moved to a pricey salon, I decided to try out Gina who had been cutting my sons' hair. OMG! Gina gave me a stylish bob with beautiful layers in the back. I got so many compliments on my hair that I walked around with Gina's business card to hand out. Since then, Gina has also seen me through adventures with color including highlights, a blue streak, and a short stint of letting my gray grow out. Other ladies in salon are talented as well. Joy and Jen have done my hair beautifully when Gina has not been beautiful. And Kristen does a beautiful manicure that lasts. Love this salon.

She told me she cannot use acetone to remove gel x so she used 10 different e-filers to file my nails. I told her the friction was burning my nails and my skin and she gaslit me into thinking you cannot use acetone for gel x. I told her to atleast be gentle with my nails because it's hot and it burns and her response was "if you can relax I can if not then idk what to do". Not only did she not give me a design I like, she completely botched my nails. She did not remove my gel x nails, filed them down till my natural nails at the end were super thin, kept half of the gel X and preceded to give me the worst, crooked nails. It looks like a child did it. I asked for round shape nails and she used an e-filer to even do that. She claims these look like steel but they are dark as hell and had the audacity to say No to me when I asked for more chrome. She put gel all over my cuticles and skin and it burned me throughout. I asked multiple times to clean up since it was burning me and she refused to clean up. She then filed my skin to get rid of the cured gel. I'm attaching the picture of what I wanted vs what I got. I'm extremely disappointed with this service and this was money straight down the drain. DO NOT GO!!
