I'm not a golfing fan, but TopGolf makes it fun!! I suggest going in the morning, as your bay is way cheaper then. Your bay=your lane, think of bowling. You don't pay per person, but per bay. Each bay can fit 6 golfers. If you have to go at night, no worries! They have heaters that you can turn on to stay warm. If you're waiting for your party to arrive, they have pool tables and a shuffle/sand board that you can play underground, next to their bar! Definitely wait the extra half hour to secure a bay on the 3rd floor, as the first floor is the worst because you have to have a HIGH and great swing for your ball to go anywhere. It's less stressful / high risk to be on the 2nd or 3rd stories:) Topgolf is very kid friendly. They have multiple settings of golf, so you can acquire points from various different skills. You can hit it furthest, aim for targets, or even play an Angry Birds version where it shows an angry birds fort on the screen infront of the tee (see my first pic, you can kind of see the screen in the bottom right corner), and you have to aim at the fort and the trackers in the golf ball work to knock down their fort! Their snacks and food items are good, too! I have gotten the donut holes that you fill with chocolate or raspberry crème, the pretzel bites, and the chicken wings. One thing I especially like about topgolf is that you control the game. If you want to play a different game version, you can change it yourself. If someone ran to the bathroom and you wanna skip their turn, you can! You decide who is up to putt, always (besides angry birds version It goes in order). If your party is forgetful and can't remember to change the player every time, it allows you to go in and edit the shots you've taken and subtract/add/delete points! Top golf is one of those places that are great to enjoy with friends but the price is crazy high for one or two people. We usually try and go for half price Tuesdays because otherwise it's too expensive. Even on a Tuesday we ended up spending $80. We golfed for an hour and a half. I like the fact you can add on an extra 30 minutes instead of a full hour. This time we opted to try their food and meh, wasn't too impressed. The pretzel bites were lack luster, very dry and they got hard pretty quick. We also tried their dirty sodas which we really enjoyed and aren't soda drinkers. The strawberries and cream soda had strawberry puree, sprite, cream and coconut syrup; it was delish. For a little sweet treat we tried the injectable donut holes. They were pretty crunchy, not soft like your typical donut. The chocolate filling was too watery so it made a mess and the Bavarian cream lacked any flavor, it was a pass for us. his was my first time at Topgolf, and while it was a bit overwhelming with how busy it was, I absolutely loved it! The ambiance was super cool and chill, making it a great spot to hang out and have fun. That said, we ran into a few hiccups. The screen in our bay wasn't working at first, so we had to get someone to fix it. Then, we had issues with extra balls dispensing, which threw off our gameplay accuracy. But you know what? This is not a place for groups to enjoy their time together. We booked 3 bays for a gathering. It was a Sunday at 4pm off season time- we were almost the only people on the entire level. The management was micro managing our group so that only 8 people could be gathered at a table then after we were finished golfing people in the group were finishing their drinks- the management told us they needed the bay for another party! The place was nearly empty. Our group was filled with all age ranges and very polite. The good is also basic bar food at Best. I come here frequently with friends for a good time and the customer service is always a hit or miss. Last night Nathan was absolutely amazing. He arranged a new bay for us after I asked if we could be moved to the second or third floor. It was a super busy Friday night and for him to do that was wonderful. My main complaint is for the person who was servicing us at the bay. I don't remember her name exactly but she was inattentive. I understand that it's a busy night and we get wrapped up with the other customers we have to service but cmon. We asked multiple times for some stuff and either it took forever or never showed up. Reservations cannot be moved. They charged an extra $40 deposit and we had to make new reservations. Every player had to pay $5 just to hit some balls. Very expensive and they have a rigid online system that fails on customer service. UPDATE: Top Golf contacted me and they seemed genuinely surprised to hear I was double charged for the reservation. I was refunded the $40. Changed my review from 1 star to 3 since I did enjoy the atmosphere, servers were really nice, and management followed up in a genuine way showing that they do want to make changes. read more

I've been to several Topgolf locations around the country, and so far, this one has to be my favorite. For that, it gets a high 4, which is the most I'll ever give a Topgolf (grievances below). Maybe that is because of the very outdoor friendly fall Scottsdale weather? Or the really nice views of the desert terrain and mountains as well as the extremely colorfully lit casino in the distance? I dunno, this one just hit a little different. Beyond the circumstantial, we went at a very off time, 10pm on a weeknight, so we were checked in and into a bay right away, front and center on the middle level. We received excellent service from our attendant who proactively made sure everything was taken care of prior to close, and also split correctly amongst the group. I continue to wish Topgolf would do more work to support the local economy where they set up shop, by including some local beer/spirits options, alas, same selection of everything I've seen anywhere else. We didn't get food this time, but I've learned on prior trips, that it's just serviceable at best, and is pretty much also the same at all locations. This is definitely a better spot for fun and drinks than it is for some grub. As always, keep in mind, the ball flies probably 20 yards shorter here using their clubs and balls, than it would your normal set. I will CONTINUE to air my normal grievances with Topgolf. Want to reserve a bay ahead of time? They'll charge you for it, and NOT apply that as a credit to your gametime. Playing for the first time? Fork over a useless and flagrant $5 membership fee which does absolutely nothing for you and costs them nothing. Just another way to squeeze another nickel out of you. Also, be prepared to waste a few minutes of time getting signed up at the bay, as your play counter ticks down. They will literally charge you for anything and everything, other than maybe a glass of cold ice water. It's greedy, but they're also currently the only game in town so, you pay it and take your lumps. Again, weighed against other Topgolf experiences, this was the best I have had. So credit to the crew at this location, making the best of it! read more

Being Canadian and someone who occasionally plays golf, we had to round a few coworkers to squeeze in Top Golf while in Scottsdale. Top Golf is similar to a "Dave and Buster's" for golf. Great for experienced golfers or those who want to enjoy a drink with friends and have a side activity. It's great that this place opens until 12 am on weekdays. We were able to score a middle bay without reservations on Wednesday evening, a couple of hours before closing. I've been to virtual Top Golf in Chicago, and IRL is much better. We had a group of 4, practiced just driving, and then played a couple of games where we aimed at the pads. I'm a beginner, and the closest pads were tricky for me as I needed to get used to chipping to a target below me. You don't need to know how to play golf to enjoy the experience, as the group next to us were complete newbies. Two sets of golf clubs are provided with longer or shorter shafts, and the automatic ball dispenser makes it a breeze to go on to the next swing. Note, the balls and perhaps the clubs dampen your swings' distance. Also each player needs their own account, which costs $5 and a bit of time to set up a new one. It was about $70~ for the bay alone for an hour or so. It's a bit pricier but not bad once you split it amongst the group. I wish we had a Top Golf in Canada. After the visit they offered $10 to complete a survey of my experience. For a better survey experience they should've noted the survey time on the ask, which is a usually the basics in survey etiquette. It was not a short 1-2 min survey, more of a mid-length 5 min~ with multiple slider scale which adds time. After completing the survey, the credit expires in less than 2 months! Not much time for travellers to take advantage of it. Perhaps they should target their surveys and offer incentives for longer duration for those outside of a Top Golf area or outside the country. They do collect this info, so why not use it. Another thought is to note the expiry of the incentive before the survey is taken. That way it doesn't end up hindering the consumer experience and could incentivize those people to make Top Golf a priority in their travel plans when they visit near one in the future. read more

The food here is amazing! My partner and I were staying at the Hampton Inn next to the Top Golf and we were looking for a quick bite to eat since it was relatively late around 9:00 P.M. The Topgolf was still open. As we walked in, we were greeted promptly by Topgolf team members, informing them that our party was just looking to eat instead of play. The tables were open seating, and we had decided to select a booth seating, overlooking the Talking stick resort. The service was outstanding at Topgolf. The team member had immediately provided us waters and had asked if we needed to get any food started. For our appetizers, we had selected the pretzel bites with cheese sauce and the Fried Mac N Cheese, recommended by the Topgolf team member. Within approximately 10 minutes, the appetizers arrived. The Pretzel bites were delicious! The bites were perfectly salted and the cheese sauce side provided was scrumptious! I would order this appetizer again immediately!! The Mac N Cheese Fried Bites were good. My partner enjoyed them. The Mac N Cheese bites were relatively large and the fried batter used was extremely crispy. What a great hangout spot! Came on a Wednesday night after dinner and it was not too busy at all. They ID at the door so make sure you bring your ID if you're planning on having a few drinks. You are required to create an account with your email to start playing. Clubs are available at each pad for you to use so for out of towners like myself, it was great to already have the equipment to use rather than renting. Drinks are available for you to order from the server. You pay per hour and can get the balls rolling when you're ready. I was most impressed with the sensors here as it can pinpoint exactly where your ball goes even when trying to hit a target, it knows exactly which part of the target you hit. The clubs that are available are not the best but works well for what it is. Make sure to stand behind the red line when anyone is swinging to make sure you're safe and out of the way. Overall I had an absolute blast here. It was so fun with the different options of games you can play. I'm a tad bit jealous we don't have this back in Toronto where I'm from, but I guess I will just need to travel to the states more often to get my Top Golf fix in! read more

Unfortunately, we weren't told ahead of time that the screen in our bay wasn't working. Every time I have gone to a TopGolf I have had such a fun time, this time was no exception. It seems natural to have one in Scottsdale alongside the excellent golf courses plus they have quite a bit of two estate it seems. I particularly like this location since they have half off Tuesdays and we were able to just walk-in with no wait. Every employee I have encountered at this TopGolf and all others has always been very friendly and customer-focused. Our server that day was great, checking on us at just the right intervals and the food & drink came out quickly. I would recommend the espresso martini and gives you a little pick me up for your golf swings. On this day, they were having some technology issues however we were able to log into our accounts just fine. The only issue was that some shots did not register so we had to input scores manually which wasn't a big deal. We asked an employee for left clubs and he said he would be right back with them. We kept waiting, and then saw that employee helping someone else. Disappointed again, we found another employee and he was able to grab the clubs. My husband approached the first employee which he said he told our server. (Our mistake because we had already started the game prior to receiving the clubs) This was our first time at the location, we have visited other locations and never felt this disappointed in the service provided. We had reservations for 9:45p on a Friday night, it was pretty busy so we waited a bit after our time slot but no big deal. We got to our bay at 10p and of course my kids wanted to get straight into it. They have left handed sets of clubs if needed, which is nice because we have one lefty in the Fam.
