Social Tap is hands down one of the best regular hangout spots in Old Town Scottsdale. My girlfriend and I come here all the time because the staff treats everyone like family and the atmosphere is always solid whether you're watching games, grabbing tacos, or just hanging out at the bar. The rooftop bar is awesome on weekends and the whole setup is really clean and well maintained. Great TV setup for sports, good music, and a very welcoming crowd. The bartenders are all great -- shoutout to Marissa, Ali, Nelly, Brody, and Taylor for always taking care of us. Food is underrated too. The pork belly tacos and seared ahi tacos are my favorites, and the portions/prices are way better than most places around Old Town. Drinks are affordable, service is fast, and you never feel rushed. You can tell they care about their regulars and about keeping the place running right. Definitely deserves 5 stars. read more

We live right down the street and Social Tap has become one of our go-to spots in Old Town. Coming from New York, it's honestly great having a true New York sports bar nearby. Whether it's the Knicks, Giants, or Rangers, I always know where to go to watch the game. The atmosphere is always fun without being over the top, and the rooftop bar and balcony are awesome on Friday and Saturday nights. The bartenders and staff are honestly what keep us coming back. Marissa, Ali, Nelly, Brody, Izzy and Taylor are always welcoming, remember regulars, and make the experience feel personal every time we come in. Everyone is super friendly and always down for a conversation while still keeping service quick. The food is consistently good too. The short rib nachos are one of my favorite things in Old Town and their tacos never disappoint. The restaurant is always clean, the TVs and rooftop setup are perfect for games, and the whole place just has a really relaxed vibe. Definitely one of the best casual spots in Scottsdale. Absolutely LOVE this place. My girl and I came to Scottsdale last year during the off season when it was crazy hot and pretty empty everywhere. We ended up at The Social Tap and started talking with Brody behind the bar. From the jump, he made us feel at home. Super hospitable, cool as hell, and just genuine. We actually went back later that same night because the vibe completely changed once the crowd came in and it was such a good time. We exchanged numbers and kept in touch over the year. Fast forward to this year, we come back to Scottsdale thinking there's no chance this guy remembers us. We walk in, ask for Brody, and BAM... he greets us like family. That type of hospitality is rare these days. Every bartender there is awesome, the energy is always on point, and the vibe is A1 every single time. We (15-20pp) went here for a group hh & beginning of our holiday bar crawl. We had a teso up stairs in the couch seating area. There is a bar upstairs too. The bartenders were friendly. We also had a waitress. The bar was decorated in a festive manner. Some people had food (I did not) They had heaters upstairs to keep area warm. View was nice. I came here on a Saturday for a date night with the wife. I expected it to be much busier but it was not. TVs had various things (some sports, some not) playing at the time. Service was a touch slow (i.e. maybe about 3-4mins before someone came after being sat) but wasn't looking to be served up quick. I got the Gordito Burrito and wife (vegetarian) got a Veggie Taco. The Gordito was actually very nice and had me wishing for more. Wife did not complain so that was a win for her. For drinks I got what was effectively a Long Island and I... Honestly don't remember what the wife got. But both good. Food plus 2 drinks each came to about 1 Benjamin. I wouldn't get too excited about this visit. It was nothing to write home about. The happy hours wings were really good. That's about it. Service by bartenders were totally inattentive and lacking. They were more focused on chatting amongst themselves than keeping an eye on guests empty glasses. They walked by us many times without even an eye on our empty glasses. It was over 15 minutes before I finally said I could use a refill. Your female bartenders need re-training on service, not chatting. I normally tip 20-25% based on service. I wasn't starving, so I just ordered Cali-Mari to share. It was pretty standard calamari. I liked the chorizo and peppers that it came with. I also tried the blackberry ginger smash cocktail. Same thing, pretty tasty, not changing anyone's life. The atmosphere is pretty austere but in the best, most chic way possible. It's Black Friday, the Fashion Square was so crowded this we decided to support local business close to our hotel. They're not kidding when they said is nacho is super hot... likey! it's good! I was kicked out of this place last night for having a glass eye. At the start of the night, the bouncer confiscated my state identification card. I use this instead of a drivers license due to having had eye cancer and being unable to drive. I was obviously baffled and immediately called the police. The bouncer, surprised I was calling the police, must have gone to triple check with a manager and came running out while I was already on the phone with the police. The guy was overall actually a nice dude compared to the typical bouncer and I told him it was alright and headed in to the bar. Over the next three hours I had one beer. When I went to the bar for my second beer, I was not responded to by a bartender, which made sense as it was busy. I was then aggressively approached by the bouncers and told that I had been cut off and needed to leave. I was shocked as the bartender hadn't said anything and again I had only had a single beer while there. I was offered no explanation and when I attempted to talk to a manager, the woman that responded was arrogant and rude. I proceeded to tell her that I occasionally have issues with bars thinking I am overly intoxicated due to having a glass eye. I was completely dismissed and treated like my complaint had absolutely no value. Again I have had issues in the past due to my appearance with bouncers and bar tenders but typically once I tell them, they apologize. Not here! I was treated incredibly rudely and given little to no respect by the management. I did my best to advocate for myself but they had no interest in listening. If you have any facial disfigurement I would avoid this place on a night out as they may kick you out simply for looking different!. read more

Went here for dinner with a group back in late December. Had a convo with the manager-(I believe from how she was talking to other employees and sat at the bar) and she was not nice at all. I just asked about the kids menu and just very rude and had an attitude with a smart remark. Just ignored it, then we got our food and it was honestly not good. Got a burrito bowl and it had no flavor and just very plain very underwhelming. Got shrimp tacos and tortilla tasted like it came right out the bag and not cooked at all. Def could have been better. I went there with some family and friends for Sunday Brunch and it didn't go well. We had issues getting someone to help with tables for us and the security guy was really rude. The food was actually decent but when the bill came, we got hit with a 4% surcharge for using a credit card and we were not told about this in advance. This credit card surcharge nonsense is a death sentence for restaurants. Customers don't want to see this and get pissed when they get surprised by it. Also 4% is more than either Visa or Mastercard charge a business and I know because I own one. read more

There was a basketball hoop 'contest / raffle' which encouraged you to get off your ass every hour and shoot some hoops. I like it! Fun... easy... engaging. There's a covered outdoor area so when summer comes you can at least be in the shade when it's Africa Hot outside. I think they have a rooftop bar area too but it wasn't open while we were there.
