Topgolf!! So happy to have this nestled here in Birmingham :) I really love this place simply because it is always fun to go out and be somewhat active with a group of friends. It's clean, fun, and has food! Topgolf is basically like the golf version of bowling except with a more upscale vibe. You can make it a competition and try your best at getting points by scoring into specific colored holes or you can sit around and chat with a yummy cocktail and app! I love how you can be part of the group but not have to play if you don't want to. This is really nice for people who want to join but either (a) don't want to play or (b) are trying to save money! Even though I do think it is pretty reasonably priced if you go with a few people (the drinks and food are a little pricey though) The price can be split however you want for the game between whoever plays since you rent the pod per hour. It's also a huge plus that it is basically outdoor but super covered so you don't have to worry about the weather! The food has all been really yummy bar food I have to say.. kind of a twist on traditional dishes you see at restaurants and bars combined that everybody usually craves. Everything I see come out of the kitchen looks super fun yet also cheesy and crispy (huge plus) I've had the wings which are tasty, tender, and saucy, the 'nachos' which are always a hit, and the beer queso that makes you want to keep ordering more. The place gets pretty busy so you can always sit at the bar/restaurant area and snack/drink while you wait for your pod :) definitely will be back! I'm stingy with my five stars but was happy to throw an extra star for this experience. Topgolf is a three floor, high tech, high fun driving range. Golf balls have microchips in them and are tracked. The field has colored, netted, circles which you aim for and points are awarded according to where it lands in the net. The game is fun for a decent price. What I did not expect was the great food. The Wind Creek Bar and Restaurant has exceptional food for Applebee's Prices. I had the chicken and waffle sliders. A well breaded, juicy piece of chicken between two waffles. The meal came with a jalepeno sauce and some syrup. I received two sliders, which was more than enough. The service is great. I plan on going back to eat whether I play golf or not. read more

Massive complex! Not a golfer, but this place is amazing! Came here just before Christmas for a vendor event. First, parking is a little bit of a nightmare! Not there fault that they are that popular. Circled the parking area a couple times and quickly gave up and went to valet. Which, even they have perfected! All synched to your phone number. What makes this so great is that when you are ready to leave and are heading out you can send them a text letting them know you are coming and your car is waiting for you when you get out. Walking in this place is just simply put jaw dropping. We already had our bays reserved so we didn't have to go to the counter to set up anything So, not exactly sure how long the wait would have been if we didn't have reservations. We had somebody waiting for us as we walked in and they escorted us to the second floor and down to the far end where they had us set up. Staff was amazing! They were friendly and attentive and never gone for more than a few minutes. Anything we needed they were taking care of...truly gave the feel of VIP service to our entire group. We had an appetizer bar behind our bays that included Premium Platter that had - Chicken Pot Stickers, Shrimp Cocktail and Mini Crab Cakes (Mini Crab Cakes were delicious!). Italian Platter that had - Caprese Skewers, Italian Meatballs and Tomato Bruschetta (Tomato Bruchetta was the highlight of this offering). Cheese and Charcuterie that included assortment of cheeses, cured meats, pepper jam, house relish, candied pecans and pepperoncini (all really good with this offering). The menu is enormous! There is something for everyone! I went with the Smokehouse Burger which included smoked bacon, bbq sauce, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. Burger was really good! With the choice of sides I had the tator tots. That would be the only low point of the night, they really weren't good and I wouldn't get them again. They were just kind of tasteless and not really even warm. Drinks....again, expansive selection available here. I had a Citrus Cabana which is made with Deep Eddy Ruby Red Vodka, St Germain Elderflower Liquor, Fresh Lemon, Fresh Lime and Orange Juice. Very refreshing! Also, if you upcharge and they have them in stock you can get them in a Golfbag glass. 2nd drink was the Orange Dream. You can probably guess what this one tasted like...made with Pinnacle Whipped Vodka, Orange Juice and a mint twist (the mint was very faint and could barely be tasted). If your a fan of orange dream ice cream this is the drink for you. Oh ya, I almost forgot the golf. They also kind of specialize in top tier hitting range. So the staff is awesome if this is your first time. They walk through the different game functions and how you can practice. They help get everyone set up and you are off and golfing. They do have clubs at every bay that can be used by everyone and is included in the fee. If you are a golfer and have your own clubs you can bring them and use them without any problem. Several game styles to play and we had a blast pairing up into teams of four and attempting to hit the various required shots to get a score. This place is awesome even if you aren't that into golf. The more I play this TopGolf game the more I like golf again. I stopped playing golf because it was too expensive and I was terrible at it. TopGolf is simple, you are trying to hit a target for points. Short game, long game, points are points and it doesn't really matter how many points you get. My favorite part is that I can try out clubs that are more modern than my current set, to get a feel for them. Food is decent, prices pretty reasonable, make a reservation because they have a long wait time in the evenings. read more

Food and environment was good except for the service. We checked in and they said it was a hour wait, but we got a text saying that our bay was ready at 20-30 mins in. Get to the counter and the employee tells us that its 45 more mins, then we told him we got a text and he said that it will be a few mins. We arrived at 3:30 pm to an extremely busy and crowded venue. We immediately put our name on the list for a bay on the second level and were told that there was a three hour wait, which was no surprise considering even the parking was crowded and the sheer amount of people standing around. We decided to go into the bar and order food while we waited. We grabbed our own table and we had to grab it quick since there was 7 of us and it was BUSY. So in grabbing our own table, we sat down before it was properly bused thinking the wait staff would be along shortly to clean things up and get us situated. WRONG! Thirty minutes later and a conversation with the manager (after asking for him three times) we were still at a dirty table with no menus. The manager was nice and took our drink orders and had someone at the table within minutes to wait on us. The food was excellent. We ordered wings, Cobb salad, burgers, and appetizers. It was hot, fresh, and plated beautifully. The order was initially wrong, but they corrected it within 5 minutes. We received the bill and the manager comp'd our appetizers, which was very nice. He even came back after we finished eating to make sure everything was okay. We still had an hour wait time before our bay would be ready, so we hung out downstairs and played pool and watched the other guests play golf. We ended up waiting an hour beyond our promised time and even then we were number 22 in line. My daughter ended up telling them that we had been there since 3:30 and they moved us to first in line. The golfing is super fun and different if you are craving something out of the box for entertainment. The fun time golfing made up for all the waiting in the end, hence the 4 stars. I would highly recommend Top Golf, but be smarter than us and book your bay online in advance to avoid the hassle of waiting. read more

Ever since I saw those huge out of place towers from I-65 and found out TopGolf was coming, I couldn't wait. I'm not a golfer, but I do enjoy wacking the heck out of a golf ball as far as I can hit it! Located in the popular uptown area across from Texas de Brazil, they have only been open less than a month and are very popular. The facilities are immaculate and when we attended the day before Christmas eve, the line was out the door even at 10am. There are 3 levels with about 50 "bays"? Each bay either has comfortable couches or bar stools, a couple of digital touch screens that you use to keep track of who's hitting and scores. You can also have your favorite tv channel on another screen! I followed advice and made reservations. They were very easy to do online. Put in the date and approximate time and they present you with options. Reservations range from free to $25. If you've never been to a TopGolf, you will have to sign up for a one time new membership fee for $5. When you arrive, be sure to check your phone because they will just text you that you the # of your bay when it is ready. They forgot to mention that when I made reservations. If they did we wouldn't have had to wait in the long line. You and your friends play in a "bay" and they are rented hourly and then in 15 min increments. If you play before noon, it's only $25 an hour. Noon to 5, $35 and 5 to close $45. It's actually quite reasonable especially if you have 5 other friends and divide the cost between 6. They allow you up to 8 persons in each bay but only 6 can play. They have their own restaurant and you're assigned a "waiter"/assistant. Kaitlin was outstanding. She checked on us regularly and got the heat turned on when it started getting really chilly. We didn't get anything to on this visit so I can't rate the food, but I took a look at the menu and it looked impressive. They had a nice selection of drinks, apps, and main courses. I can't wait to return and try the food. As I mentioned you don't need to be a golfer to enjoy TopGolf. Bring a group of friends, chill out in a bay, eat some food, watch your favorite ball game and oh by the way, take some good swings at a golf ball. You won't get bored because they have different "games" that you can play with your friends. We had a fun moment when the "ball guy" was driving his little ball retrieving vehicle around the course. This is what I call a city attraction!!! Top golf is a bucket of fun! The Balls just keep coming! We showed up with a party of 8 and split the swings between two bays. It's $35 an hour plus $5 for a lifetime membership. We were able to play 3 games in our hour. We started with a bucket of beers. Then when we ordered food for all 8 people, only half of it came out. But the manager made it right by taking that half of food off of our bill and also giving us extra play time!! It was so much fun y'all! You've got to give it a try. Came here for a work Christmas party with a large group. We did not have a reservation, but it was the middle of the day and their bays where we golfed were only half full - plenty of empty bays. We had to wait 30 minutes to get our bays assigned to us, and then we found out they were not beside each other. There were open bays side by side which could accommodate us, and we were told they could not give these to our party. We had to ask for a manager, and then spent another 20-30 minutes getting them to complete this simple task. It seemed like it was against their policy to give us two bays next to each other unless a reservation was made, even if there are plenty of bays open. Once we were finally able to start golfing, we had a lot of fun. The food was great, and the servers consistently checked on us. I just wish that it hadn't taken so long to get two bays next to each other. It really left a bad taste in our mouths. Oh yeah, that is the golfing experience just without carts, walking through the woods looking for lost balls .The multi-tiered, computerized driving range with a club (dance club not country club) feel is a lot of fun and your friends can't cheat by kicking their ball to a better lie. At TopGolf you can suck without the pressure of the foursome behind you wanting to play through. Finally!!!!!!! Top Golf has arrived in Bham and I must say I was ecstatic yesterday when we arrived because I had been following this place all year long. I had went to my first Top Golf in Atlanta for my bday earlier this year and I enjoyed it. This time didn't disappoint either, as it wasn't as packed when we got there at 5 yet it was full. The atmosphere was cool and the Golfing was fun as usual. The Vibe in Atlanta is a lil bit better but I believe with time that this Bham location will be up to par with Atlanta. Cannot say enough about this awesome addition to the Magic City and how much I have enjoyed Topgolf Birmingham! Funny thing is that I have never been an avid golfer and before this location opened in December I hadn't hit a golf ball in years. Now I can't wait more than a few days before I'm ready to go again. The facility is top notch, clean and has a super fun atmosphere. Their staff is amazing and always take excellent care of me when I come in. Chris, Whitney, Jay Mike, Nigel to name a few are simply the best period and have added so much to my experience. They love what they do and it shines through. Not only all that but the food there is pretty dang good too. And if you have kids, they'll love it! It's a fun place to be able to have a good meal, spend some time outside (their heaters work awesome if it's cold), doing something active and above all else enjoy connecting with your family and friends. And don't worry about bringing your own clubs, they have everything you could want; women's, men's, left handed, right handed, and even toddler and junior clubs for the kids. Check this place out! After a terrible first experience, my boyfriend and I came back for a second time after the manager reached out to us. THANK YOU ALLISON for a much better experience. We arrived an hour earlier to grab lunch there before our reservation and Allison approached us personally to tell us which bay we were assigned. She checked on us multiple times throughout our visit. My boyfriend and I both agreed how spectacular her customer service skills were and how thankful we were she invited us back. There was no wait time and the customer service was far better than our last experience. Aerial waited on us while at the bay. I ordered two different drinks with strawberry purée and they were out so I ended up ordering the coconut mojito. She was really apologetic about not having the strawberries but had my mojito out in minutes. I would recommend asking for Aeriel, she was super personable and friendly! Brought one of my many godkids here for his 16th bday! We are in the dining area first. We were able to get seating quickly (first come first serve) for our group of 10. Not bad for 230pm on a Sunday. We were greeted and deyonjones orders came promptly. But we waited OVER 30 mins for our food to come. This caused us to have to postpone our bay time! When the food came, some items were cold, some overcooked or lacking toppings. Ughhhhh! Two people including me, had to send their food back for corrections. I had the buffalo chicken sliders... they came out (after correction) with the tiniest piece of lettuce I've ever seen on a sandwich... it was almost comical. The bay time came around... I left to get the kids situated while the other adults stayed to pay the food bill. It took them over 30 additional minutes to pay! Rough service! Perhaps my experience would have been better if my first visit wasn't the New Years Eve package, but this is my first and only visit, so that is all I have. We booked our reservation too late to get the cheaper package, so we had to book the VIP package for the New Years Eve event. There were 6 of us total and the package was suppose to include: Buffet dinner, champagne, golfing (of course) and bar service at our booth (alcoholic drinks not included) a DJ, face painting, photographer, and more. Our server was very nice, but not effective. I believe she said she was not a waitress/server, but worked in Marketing. It took 45 minutes to get our first drink order. Every beer pitcher has a frozen insert, so the picture only can fill 3 glasses...which was not explained to us. SO only 3 of 6 could enjoy a beer each trip. Once the buffet line opened, there was a line, so we waited until about 10:45, and all was left was the scrapings along the steamer tray for the potatoes and vegetables...sigh (barely warm). Perhaps that was our fault for not wanting to wait in line for food, but the dinner was suppose to start at 10:00. I tried to order a diet Pepsi from our server, and had to ask 3 times before I finally got it... about 30 minutes after I ordered it. I had to go to our server who was in another booth to follow up. I think she forgot. The dessert was brought out about 10:45, and of course a long waiting line again. This time, I didn't wait and got in line. They ran out of the inject-able donuts and 3/4 of the chocolate strawberries were gone. That is all there was for dessert. I don't know if I will ever go back. Visited this place before it opened to the public and again for NYE. I think I'm the only one in Birmingham not 100% bought it. If you play golf, this is an expensive driving range. If you don't, this isn't the place to learn. This is not a bad review bc I hate golf or couldn't hit the ball. I think it's cool for a work event or guys night out. Good, clean fun. It's new, and everyone should go at least once, but with subpar food and watered down drinks, not my first choice for a night out with friends or bae. Great time for all ages. This can easily become an expensive trip if you're not paying attention. The bay (place where you play golf) is rented by the hour. The hour prices increase the later It gets maxing out at $55 and hour I believe. Which isn't bad if you have a group. The max amount of people per bay is 6. The food is actually pretty delicious too. We tried the nachos which are more like single chips with nacho toppings and the Asian glazed wings which were very tasty. This was my third time to visit TopGolf. It is a really neat concept and a lot of fun! I'm not very good at golf, but that doesn't stop me from having a blast. It's a nice environment to hang out with friends in. Having had both the table set up and the couch type seating, I much prefer the couches. I don't know that you can specify that when making reservations though. Speaking of, I've never been a walk in, but having had to wait even with reservations I wouldn't recommend it. Reservations are easy online and it was free on Monday. You have to pay to reserve other times, like Friday night. I noticed Tuesday's have a deal which is half off the hourly bay rate. For first timers, some nuts and bolts: Once you make your reservations -or walk in- and arrive at the location (expect to park in the lower 40, and no valet on Monday), go to the desk to let them know you are there. The person on the reservations has to be the one to check in. Even though I did this, they still had to send a text and verify I was "ready" - which I didn't hear my phone in my purse so that added a few extra minutes (keep your phone out!). When you arrive at your bay there will be an employee who promises to wait on you "hand and foot." They will take your orders and answer any questions you might have. Note you must buy some kind of membership card for $5 either once a year or once a lifetime, I'm not sure. The bay rate on Monday night was like $45/hr. For us we had 3 couples - so $15 hour. And they will split up for you to each pay at the end. I think $15 hour per couple is not bad for the golfing rate. To clarify: Bay rates change depending on day/ time. If $45/ hr is the bay rate and you go alone it's $45. You can choose to add time- it will pop up on the screen with 15 min left and you can add another 15 min, 30, an hour, etc. If 4 friends go you can split it up 4 ways ... or 2 ways ... or however you desire. But obviously the more people per bay the more you wait on your friends to take their turn. The max playing per bay is 6. But you can have 8 if 2 people don't play. Ok that's probably more confusing than clarifying but I tried. Lol Finally though, you must be at the desk within 15 min of your reservations or it will be cancelled, no refund. There is a large bar and tables inside the second floor (main floor) where you wait for your bay. I noticed a sign when we were leaving that said the lounge downstairs has a pool table and something else that looked fun, and upstairs also had something different. So next time we will probably wait there instead of sitting at the bar! So now to the food & drink portion. It's nice that you can order food and have it brought right out to your bay. The menu is pub fare with any libation you could think of. However it went downhill from there, unfortunately. If this was a straight up restaurant it would have gotten 2 stars, but while this is probably a huge portion of their profits, it's not really why anyone goes there. (I could be wrong though.) The queso beer cheese dip was bland. My smokehouse burger was also bland. The fries were good. I tried our friends cheese fries and they were also just ok. We had somehow acquired a table full of used glasses, plates, etc., and I had to ask for them to be bussed even though it was obvious they were all getting stacked up (by us) just to clear room. So overall it is fun and I'm glad we have this option for the age old question of "what do you want to do tonight?" I've seen kids there every time so it's truly fun for all ages. And for all skill levels: I won the game where you have to try to hit it 3x in the red, yellow then green .... and yes, I even beat an avid golfer! (Who probably wished he hadn't given me those pointers after all!) The staff was very friendly. We had a couple snafus which I won't even mention because they were immediately rectified. I used to come here a lot when this Topgolf location first opened and enjoyed them each time, but this past time it didn't feel the same. My experience started off very well - I came a few hours early to get my group of 7 friends on the waitlist, the employee at the service desk was nice and attentive to me and explained the directions for the waitlist perfectly. We came back 2 hours later to our pod. When we got there, we were unattended to for 15 minutes. I had to ask another server to get the person who was assigned to our table. When the employee assigned to our table finally came, he had an attitude about serving us and was trying to rush us to decide on our drinks. One of our group members needed left handed clubs, so when he came back with them, he slammed them into the club holder. I understand that it's a Saturday night and busy, but I felt like the server could have attended to us better then what he did. Outside of that, we did have a good experience. I was impressed with the amount of choices that we had to choose from for our pitcher of beer and the price point being split among us all for the games and drinks was good! We also got a kick out of us competing against each other in the choices of games that Topgolf offers. I will definitely be back in the future, but I would like to see better service. read more

We were there at the end of the day on Sunday and the location was fairly empty. Staff was almost all friendly and helpful (minus one grumpy bartender who seemed to focus on a single couple). The actual game worked out very well except for the sensors that seemed to be out for a couple of the holes. Still, definitely planning to visit a Topgolf again in the near future. read more

During our $50 game we had issues with balls going in the targets but not registering on the screen and when we brought it up to the staff they shrugged their shoulders and said there was nothing they could do. Did not know topgolf would have good food and drinks. We went just to have some fun and ended up getting the donuts with syringes of sweets to inject the donuts with. The drinks we got were reasonably priced and pretty good. The sangria tastes like grape juice which was ok but didn't seem like they actually put much alcohol into it. The course is fun to play on and overall good experience. They might want to amp up security a little more and be willing to ask people to move. Little kid went running by all the people hitting multiple times and I'm surprise he wasn't hit, and once ran straight out toward a flag. They should have been asked to leave. Shannon was our group server last night. Top Golf was one of our 20TH year class reunion outings. It was my first time going. I was very impressed with the establishment. Shannon was AMAZING! I've never had a server at a place of entertainment that was entertaining themselves. She has a great personality, professional, attentive, efficient and FUN! She worked our large group without missing a beat. Some of my old classmates voiced how great they thought she was too! There was a hiccup, when it was time for the tabs to be passed out. A person walked out on their tab and we didn't realize it until Shannon was looking to give him his tab. She stayed calm and professional. That meant a lot to me because that situation could've easily escalated. Good food, good drinks, good times. Be smart and book a bay online well in advance to skip the line. We ordered the pretzel and chips and salsa for a work event. Place is always packed but we have never waited more than 30 minutes for a bay. If you do have to wait they have a very nice bar area to relax at. I've been here on dates, double dates, small groups and corporate events. It's great for pretty much any size group. Also, a really cool idea to for a day date with your SO (and it's a bit cheaper during the day). Tip: Always reserve on the 2nd or 3rd floor... it's just a bit more fun! Expensive...but worth it! 30 min wait to get a spot to golf was spent with a couple of Scotches! We bought a 30 window that turned onto over an hour. Great for large group or intimate date. I was so pumped when this place finally opened up, and was super excited I finally got to come check it out the other week. Birmingham really needed a place like this, and I know this place will do wonders for this part of town. This place is beautiful! I've never even held a golf club in my entire life, and I managed to score fairly often! I played for an hour which I think is good for a beginner. My hands were getting sore from holding the club! There are several bays, and going on a weekday allowed me t just walk in and not have to wait. The only negative was the waitress. She seemed kinda rushed and pretty much had us order the first thing she suggested which was a pitcher of beer. It's a lot of beer! Probably enough for two people that really like beer, not something I will get again. Not for non beer drinkers. We ended up throwing away most of it. The menu was full of options so stand your ground next time and make sure you have enough time to decide. I'll be back to try the food some day! read more

What a horrible experience at the Birmingham location. Tons of bays closed while the wait exceeded an hour. Tried to make a night and get dinner but it took forever. They took us off their waitlist twice without texting and we had to check back in 3 times, finally a manager had to get involved and would not even open an unused bay, we still had to wait another 15 minutes after 2 hours. I've been to quite a few and worst service by far at this location. Step up your game, it seems like they could be providing a much better experience if someone would care enough. Hi Fatima, 30 min later and I'm still waiting on a bay and looking at 4 bays that just left. You might want to check in on this location. Really poor service. read more

Went to Topgolf Birmingham at 11:00 am on 5/30/21. Told by the front cashiers that the wait for an hour play was approximately 90 minutes...that's one hour after opening?!?!?! There were zero people waiting and MULTIPLE bays open- probably 20-25 empty bays! Then we were told that it's better to make a reservation online, which has to be for a minimum of two hours of play. I do NOT RECOMMEND going to Topgolf Birmingham until they get their shit together and accommodate to walkins or when they decide to actually use the first floor again and allow for more customers/business. read more
