This is my second time at Top Golf. The first time was early 2018 when they first opened. Second visit is now, currently here. Sad to say nothing has changed. The food was awful. 3 of our 5 orders were sent back because the food was cold. While our server was pleasant, the server was extremely slow. The attendant at the front desk was very personable and pleasant. They are the only reason I gave 2 stars. Otherwise, it would have been 1 star because I can't select 0. The women's restrooms are out of toilet paper. One person in our party stated that this is their 3rd trip here and she's had the same experience. Food is good, TVs are great, service is okay but needs work. Great place to come and watch the game. Coming in is free, to play you need to check in and a bay is about $45 an hour. Back to the food, it's shareable and tasty. They have wings... order the trio, cheese fries, nachos and doughnut holes that you can inject with flavors. All drinks can be made non alcoholic for all you non drinkers out there. In the winter, each bay has a heater which is nice. You won't freeze to death. Inside each of the booths have a 40 inch tv not to mention the bar is surrounded by TVs. You won't have to struggle to watch. On to the service...I've been to the one in Huntsville, their manager should come and help train the employees here. They are sweet people with good intentions but many of them tend to get distracted and mill around each other for company. The staff is super young, they are nice they just lack a bit of professionalism. They all have much potential, they represent Birmingham well but I'd like to see them up to par with the service we received in Huntsville! Plenty of seating and parking. read more

I had a fun time at Top Golf Birmingham this weekend. The one time I went in Dallas, all bays were already booked up so we did miniature golf and enjoyed the outdoor lounge area. As far as this visit, Check-in was seamless, the server was mostly attentive and the food & drinks were pretty good. They called and contacted the person in our party who made the reservation 2 minutes prior to our appointment and told us which bay to proceed to upon arrival and that they'd have us set up. We weren't late as we were just parking when she called but a host is also at the very front if you need help checking in or finding your bay. There are plenty of different putters / clubs available in your bay to try out, comfortable L shaped couches for seating & monitors for tracking your game as well as TV watching. I believe there are also clear dividers separating the bays in the new age of covid, but you're also wide open to the outdoors. It felt sorta like bowling at the driving range since each participant has an account and tracking of "score" on a digital monitor with around 20 'frames' depending on the game/challenge you select. While there, I also saw an employee wiping down stuff in one bay area so hopefully that means they're sanitizing between parties. There's a spacious bar a dining area also. Based on the website I think the reservation pricing increases the later you go in the day. Located right across the new UAB stadium downtown, parking wasn't hard at all. Our appointment was a Friday about 5:45pm. There was 3 of us in our party and considering none of us are avid golfers, 2 hours was ample time. We ate and did two rounds of 20. Great for date night, parties or corporate events. I look forward to revisiting one of the Top Golfs in DFW. read more

I don't even like golf haha but this was a fun first experience ! Ambience is great, good place to come with a group of friends. The food is mostly bar food but it was surprisingly good and reasonably priced, especially the burgers. Our waitress was very attentive. I HAD A BLAST HERE. Sadly this was my first time here but it won't be my last. I enjoyed everything about this place. I am not golfer for sure but I can at minimum hit the balls. The food is delicious and quite delicious if I must say. We tried the tres tacos and they were amazingly delicious. We chose the steak and those tacos were jam packed with flavor. The steak was tender and the topping just enhanced the bite. The guac and salsa was freshly made and the thickness of the chips was perfect for withstanding the dip. The buffalo chicken dip was just plain good. Try it. The Cheeseburger I didn't try but heard great things lol. The customer service started off rocky but the manger Tim literally stopped what he was doing to take care of us. He also gave my sisters and I ai I golf lesson and checked on us every chance he got. Last night, I went to Top Golf for the second time. Look, I totally understand that Top Golf is very busy, because of their popularity, but the amount of time it takes to get your drinks and food and the inconsistent service is kind of disappointing. My first time at Top Golf, I went on a Wednesday. I ordered the chicken wings and it took so long for me to get them that I seriously had forgotten I had ordered them when the person brought them to he table. Also, I was only given 4 chicken wings. I think the wings are $11 so 4 wings for $11 just seemed kind of steep. Another thing is the people who bring out the food sometimes just sit things down without knowing who ordered it, which leads to confusion. Last night, the people I was with had ordered drinks and they ended up with the wrong drink because it was put in front of them so they thought it was theirs until they tasted it. I know the food and drink runners are busy, but I feel like they should at least try to make sure the right things go to the right people. Another thing is by the time I got my food on both occasions I went to Top Golf, it was barely warm. If I'm going to have a long wait for food, it should come out hot, which let's me know it's fresh and that it was not just sitting around in the kitchen. Now, for the golf/game experience, I really like it! I personally feel like an hour of play is enough, but some people may enjoy longer. We played for an hour and a half last night and towards the end, I was letting my husband hit for me. This is definitely a great place to hang with friends. Next time, I'll go earlier and I'll probably not order any food, but I may order a couple drinks. Oh...shout out to the employee who helped me look for my jacket last night. I appreciate his efforts and his service is really why I feel like Top Golf will eventually get it right with their service aspect. read more

Went in found out it would be 45 min wait , I get it that it's hard to get staffing but your telling me out of the 3 people up front not one could take my money and tell me a booth number ? 2nd time to Topgolf and the first since opening week. It's a great place to go with a group and always seems to have a lot of birthday parties as well as office parties happening. I highly suggest making a reservation before you go on their website. There has been a wait both times that I have been and last nights was estimated 20 to 30 minutes, but we ended up waiting 55 minutes. The food is pretty good and the presentation is nice. The macaroni spring rolls are lacking the cheese to make them delicious. The brisket grilled cheese on the other hand has plenty of cheese on it. The pizzas are all tasty. The French fries have a nice crisp to them. The drink prices can be a little high so be expecting that when you go if you are going to drink. Expect to play for a minimum of 2 hours as it can take a while to get your food and it will take a full hour for a game if you have a party of 6. read more

We were here for a work outing and this is the first one that everyone enjoyed playing golf. The game were great and the people took the time to explain how they work and coached you on. The food is the best food you will get at a recreation event place such as this. They do a great job on food preparation and presentation. All of our items were hot and fresh. We had the wings, chicken and waffles, chips and queso, chicken quesadillas, pretzel bites, and all the sandwiches on the menu. The burgers are good and the chicken sandwich is the bomb. But, the best sandwich on the menu is the grilled cheese brisket sandwich. That will always be my choice! The brisket is so tender and full of flavor. It's partnered with two types of cheese and the grilled on artisan bread that has the perfect crunch. This is a great place for everyone even if you don't play golf you can still have a great meal. read more

Top Golf is the most exciting addition to Birmingham in recent years. It is the buzz about town, and seems like everyone is doing it. Reservations are a good idea, and they require a small deposit. I have been twice, and had a great time on both occasions. My first visit was on Friday afternoon, December 15. The bay attendant was very soft-spoken, and she didn't do a great job of explaining how the games and scoring worked. Then we had to seek out our waiter, and the wait for our drinks was long. My second visit was Saturday morning at 9:30 (December 23), and service was much better. When we arrived there was a line that stretched almost out the front door. We waited in line, and when we got to the front desk we learned that they had already sent a text with our bay number. No big deal but it would have been nice if someone had told us we didn't need to wait in the line. Our waitress was Kaitlin and she was fantastic. She explained everything to the newbies, took our orders, and she frequently checked in on us. During the games the player's turn and ball number got out of sync. It was likely user error on our part, but as a tip be certain to double check that your name is highlighted before hitting. read more

I love eating at Top Golf! Yes that might sound weird since it's main reason is for golfing, but I go just for the food! Every time I have been the food has been good! I do not recommend the do it yourself cinnamon ball dessert. Everytime I've had it they have been overcooked. But the main entrees and appetizers have been a hit!! Delicious and hot everytime. We go to top golf on a somewhat regular basis. It is a well set up activity that you can enjoy either with family or friends or business gatherings. The food has always been very good and their bartenders have progressively become better since they opened. When we are having to much fun and not quite ready to leave even though our reservation is over (it's a set amount of time) they have accommodated us by moving us to another bay. I've wanted to come to Topgolf since it open, but decided to wait until the hype and large crowds died down to truly enjoy the whole experience. I must say that I really enjoyed everything about my visit. I went on a Saturday evening with a couple of friends to celebrate birthdays. We picked great timing due to it being football season and most people were preoccupied with that. Our approximate wait time was 30-45 minutes, so we decided to sit inside and eat before playing. Our server was attentive and polite. We ordered a mixture of food: grilled wings, nachos and flatbread pepperoni pizza. We all enjoyed our dishes and had no complaints at all. After enjoying our meal, our bay was ready for us to play. We were on the third level and towards the very end. I'm afraid of heights, so this wasn't ideal for me but my friends enjoyed it. The third level was extremely muggy where my clothes were sticking to me, but they did have fans going to cool things down a bit. We chose to play for one hour, which was $47 plus tax total. We knew this before coming as the weekends are their prime time for business. We split the cost between 5 people and it was very cheap. For new players, they do make you pay $5.00 for a one day pass or lifetime membership; however, this is a one time fee. Also, our waitress made sure that our cups were filled with water and ice. She even brought the birthday lady out a complimentary order of donut holes with cream filling to add. These were super tasty and fresh. This is probably the worst top golf location I've been to. It's outdated, items broken and terrible service. We were able to play during our scheduled time which was great. The service is horrible, it took forever for drinks to come out. Even water. Waitress took our order then came back a half hour later to let us know the kitchen was 20-30 minutes behind. No problem. Came back a second time saying the kitchen messed up our order and she needs to put it in again and asked for our order. (We waited over 2 hrs at my last visit) and 2- service is a bit all over the place. It took a while to get our food and when we did an order came out wrong. I have been to Top Golf a few times, but this was my first time actually participating in a golf game. At first I thought it was going to be kind of expensive because it is $35 per hour to play during the timeframe that we went (prices vary by day and time), but once you split it among the people that are playing it's actually not bad. You have a server and full access to any thing on the menu or from the bar while you are playing. If it's your first time playing, you are charged a five dollar membership fee. The actual golf game is fun and easy to play. They make it really simple to keep up with the score. With regard to food and drinks, I ordered nachos and mimosas. Both were really good. Mimosas were only $4! We also had the jumbo pretzel board, which is served with cheese, meats and fruit. It was pretty good. I would definitely recommend checking this spot out! My daughter had her birthday party here and everything went great! On arrival, our party host, Stefon, was waiting with a sign. He took us to our bays immediately and got all of the kids set up. There was plenty of food for the kids. Each kid's meal included: 3 chicken fingers, 1 cheeseburger slider, tater tots, and fruit cup. The kids also get unlimited drinks. My husband and I finally ventured to Topgolf for his Birthday after hearing about all the hype. We were absolutely hooked! The aesthetic of Topgolf is really just amazing. You can see all of downtown from the Parking lot and there is plenty of parking! (Unheard of in Downtown) We went inside and rented out a bay. Unfortunately, only the second floor was available but we were prepared to take what we could. The process was quite easy and they have a person assigned to a certain number of bays. That helped a great deal in setting up the game. The food and drinks were on the high side and taste wise the cheese fries were pretty mediocre. The drinks also took a while to come out, but the atmosphere is great. They have a number of game options to choose from and we mainly played in Top-shot seeing as we were beginners. They had a variety of golf clubs and the ease of use was fantastic. We stayed for an entire hour and we thought it was well worth it, however, we may skip the food and drinks next time. Top golf is definitely a must try for Birmingham! read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my first time at top golf with my friends. We were on the third floor and we were in around 6 PM. You get a server just for your bay and our server was outstanding. I am a teacher so I was able to get one hour of gameplay for free after buying one hour with their teacher appreciation special that they have going for Mondays. There are plenty of games to choose from while golfing and the prices are not too hard especially if you have a group of six or more. After we finish playing golf, we went to the little rooftop area and play giant Jenga and corn hole and socialized with each other. The atmosphere of the venue is very friendly and inviting and the staff is also very friendly and understanding and will do anything they can to ensure your time at Topgolf is an unforgettable experience. read more

I think this is my 3rd time at Birmingham topgolf and it never fails to be a fun experience. Although a little pricey, topgolf in general is always a great way to catch up with friends while making fun of their awful golf swings. Interior and Employees: I love the design of every topgolf, it has a very cool modern feel. I think what adds a lot to the topgolf experience is being on the 3rd floor. Even more bonus points if you get one of the bays on either end with the couches. Either way, I always request a 3rd floor bay and the employees are always nice enough to accommodate or tell me the wait time on them. Food and Drinks: I think this is topgolf's greatest value. Their food isn't overpriced and is consistently good. On top of that, the food is always served beautifully. My quesadilla looked like a very fancy meal but was under 10 bucks. I've dipped a lot of the drinks here and they are all pretty awesome. My favorite desert to get are the injectable donut holes (highly recommend). Wait Service: this is the only reason I give this place a 4 and I see a few other comments in other reviews giving some negative reviews in this category. Most of the time, wait service is very slow and unorganized. It took us 10 minutes to get 1 water and another 10 minutes to get another water. We ended up not even getting our 3rd water and waited about another 10 minutes to tab out while our bay time ended. Overall, will definitely be back. read more

We had so much fun, we brought the kids back a week later. This time we ordered a few different things from the menu, and they were all amazing. Highly recommend this place. I feel like this is the #1 Birthday Celebration venue in Birmingham. I say this because all of my friends, friends of friends, and my kids friends seem to have had their birthday parties here. I walked in with my son and was quoted a 2.5hr wait... 2.5 hrs later I started speaking with the staff about "expectations" and that a quote is supposed to be a worse case scenario... Under promise and over deliver... (ie. quote 4hrs and hit 3hrs, or quote 3hrs and hit 3hrs, never under quote...) The worst part was, that as I was expressing my frustration, the staff tried to argue that I was wrong for being frustrated - that they missed their target... And when I asked how much longer the wait would be, they couldn't give me any type of estimate... Bad operations comes from bad management, which comes from bad leadership.... Went here for the first time with my family yesterday. They were very crowded but we had a reservation. Had to wait 40 minutes even with a reservation which stinks because you have to pay for the reservation. We spoke to Tamara, one of the managers and she added 30 minutes of free time to our game to rectify the situation. We ordered the Mac n cheese bites and nachos. Both of these were small portions but not bad appetizers. I also tried the pineapple punch golf bag which they make you have two people order so my mom & I split it. It was not very strong so I'm not sure why we had to split it. All in all it was fun & we will be back! read more
