5 stars - Great We ate dinner here while in NYC (8/25). The food was delicious. The restaurant is small, but nicely decorated. And the staff are very friendly. I would highly recommend going here!

Topaz Thai was an unexpected stop while I was in NYC. It was very close to the hotel my husband and I stayed in, so we stopped in for dinner on a whim. We sat in the front window which was fun to have a little secluded area to ourselves and be able to people watch. The wait staff were all very friendly and attentive. We got our food quickly and they kept our waters refilled. I was happy with the meals we got. I thought they were both good, but not "blow your mind" good. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience.

Tried this on a whim while visiting NYC. It's a small location but the ambience is delightful. Their AC struggled to keep up with the heatwave but I don't blame them for it. The service was fast with the dishes coming out very quickly. The food was spiced for flavor and not heat. The duck was prepared extremely well and was the highlight of the meal. I'd definitely come back here again.

This place was recommended to me by a friend and I am glad she did because I'm this area frequently and never even realized this place existed! We came here pre show at radio city and were seated quickly. We weee presented with the menu and the specials, I ended up getting the yellow curry, and we split an order of the spring rolls. I had the Thai iced tea. Can't go wrong with it! The spring rolls were crispy, hot and fresh. The yellow curry was amazing it was some of the best I've had in a long time. A must try if it's available! The restaurant was busy but relatively quiet. Service was great, fast, and super friendly. The prices were good too. I'll definitely be back here because so many different things to try on the menu!

I come here several times a week. The food is so delicious and the staff is so warm and friendly. It's a hidden gem in the neighborhood. Sarah is the sweetest!!!

Amazing authentic Thai food that rivals all my favorite Thai for spots! The pad Thai, drunk noodles, massaman and green curry, and royal duck was amazing!

Friends, I love Thai food. Topaz was not what I expected. The food was underwhelming, lacked flavor, and the overall experience was poor. We had a party of 5. and we all felt rushed. The service was poor, the food was not impressive, and the ambiance was very loud and busy. I believe that better service, better taste, and perhaps lowering the volume of the broadway play music overhead might help. Topaz, please do better.

The restaurant's decor is vibrant and fun, and I loved that they were playing Thai music--it really added to the atmosphere. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. The moment I finished my cup of water, someone came by to refill it right away. When I accidentally dropped my napkin, they brought me a new one almost instantly. They started off with some complimentary shrimp chips, which were simple but a nice touch. I ordered the Swimming Duck, and it was absolutely outstanding. The meat was incredibly tender and sliced just right--not too thick, not too thin. The sauce was so flavorful I didn't leave a single drop, and the bits of pineapple added a perfect balance to the dish. This was definitely a 10 out of 10!

This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the city, I would definitely try the street style dessert coconut ice cream with bread if you like sweet it is incredible. The service is excellent, and the staff are very friendly, it seems like a very family oriented environment. I have tried all of my Thai favorites here and they are all made with love. I can't wait to come back again.

It was our first time here, and we're so happy we found this restaurant to satisfy our Thai cravings in the city. This will be our favorite Midtown Thai go-to. The server is really attentive and sweet. This place is small but very cozy and Christmasy, they have beautiful decorations. We can't wait to come back to try more of their dishes.

Solid thai food, great service and super fast! I'd definitely come back. We got crispy tofu to start which came with a tasty and bit spicy sauce. Friends got pineapple fried rice, pad thai and i got drunken noodles. All of us loved our dishes and there was ample food given. It was a solid price for how much they gave, especially given the location in the city. Ambiance is nice for a small place. Service was super fast and friendly. I've heard their takeout it fast as well. I'd go back when in the area for a show or by the park.

Everything here was delicious. The esthetics were on point. The staff here were nice and helpful. Our server was so kind. He was able to describe and give honest option about the food. For starters we ordered chive lover, veggie spring rolls and the coco calamari. Everything was top notch. I loved the chives but the tables favorite was the calamari. Three of us ordered the curries. One green, one red and the last one ( I forgot the name) . Our other dish was the shrimp pad Thai. Everyone's meal was tooooppp notch!! If you are in the area it is a MUST to drop in. Your soul will thank you.

The service was friendly, attentive, and the food arrived quickly even they were a full house and rush lunch hour. Very quick and our server was amazing! We started with mango salad and chicken satay as these were the most popular. Their salad was purely mango with cashews and cherry tomatoes. Their chicken satay was also to die for! It was very flavorful and was perfect and went well with the salad. Their pad thai was so perfect it brought me back to when we visited Thailand few years ago. The crispy pork belly was a standout for me perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, with just the right amount of richness. (Reminds me of Filipino Lechon Kawali) The fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and squeeze of lime balanced everything out beautifully. The soft shell crab in creamy curry egg sauce was also a must try! And lastly, we tried their mango sticky rice!! Absolutely no words... IT WAS DIVINE!!! If you're looking for authentic Thai food with elevated presentation, generous portions, and excellent service, Mitr Thai is definitely worth the visit. I'll absolutely be coming back to try more dishes!

I'm surprised people queued and surprised they actually lock people out. They have a policy of only seating whole parties. My friends were literally stuck amongst the world cup crowds in Times Square such that they struggled to get through and had to detour when they did. They have a 10 minute grace period, but my friends wouldn't make it in time, so I asked if they'll let us sit first as long as we start ordering immediately. They said ok as long as we returned the table by 6:30pm. I thought the 1.5 hour seating time was based on when we actually get seated which considers the grace period. Anyways the timing ended up being sufficient. I think this spot is good for pre-theatre dining due to the large storefront and quick service, but I wouldn't necessarily choose to come here for the sake of coming. Their menu is extensive and slightly confusing given the way they organize by regions in Thailand. I'm uncultured so I won't know what's the difference between each region. It's easier for me to comprehend if the menu was categorized by the ingredients used or size of the dish. Most dishes do not have a photo/drawing included so it was hard to skim through all the options. Their online ordering was way more helpful since it had photos. It was so hard to look for the corresponding line item in the printed version. We ordered: green curry, kao soy kua neur, khao mok neua, curry puff, kaeng hung lay, gai gor lae, and mango sticky rice. Most of the stuff tasted alright without much standout. We requested mild/little spicy for everything and it was true to request. The spiciest dish was probably the green curry, but I think it's tolerable if you eat it with rice. Crowd favorite was the kao soy kua neur which is braised beef with egg noodles. I like how tender the beef is and how chewy the noodles were. My friends didn't like the khao mok neua biryani because of its dryness, but I think it's meant to be like that. I appreciate the spices in it, not too strong but still sufficient. I don't like how they don't have a printed menu for desserts and relied on the servers to recite out what's available. We couldn't hear everything properly and resorted to referencing the online ordering menu for the dessert options. Glad they're the same. Mango sticky rice was the highlight of the night for me. The mango size could be slightly bigger, because right now it's much smaller than the rice. However, I enjoyed the rice a lot. It was hot, fragrant, and not too soft. It definitely felt comforting. The coconut milk on the side had rice puffs (?) in it which gave additional texture.

The restaurant was busy and I was by…read moremyself so I was happy to sit at the bar, and was attended to by the most sweet bartender ever. Very polite, professional and attentive. I first ordered the crispy spring rolls, which were very good. For my main I had the Massaman Curry. Now folks, this is my favorite curry of all time -- actually one of my favorite foods of all time -- and while it's common in LA where I used to live, it's not as common where I live now, in the Bay Area. And the restaurants that do carry it usually do not make it right and it's not very good. I am used to Massaman in the traditional preparation where it's more like a beef stew made with chunks of beef and needs to cook overnight. When done right it is the most aromatic curry ever -- it's almost like an aphrodisiac! -- and the beef comes out oh so tender. Usually if places have this curry but then offer a choice of protein, then it generally is not cooked properly, and that is actually how they prepare it at SaiTong. But because of such great reviews I decided to take a chance and try it. Well, let me tell you, it was definitely not the norm...it was absolutely delicious! I had it with chicken (they serve breast as default), and the chicken soaked up the curry really nicely. I also asked for there to be no onions, which I think alters the flavor of a curry too much. It does include the traditional potatoes and peanuts, and the potatoes were fine and cut into nice little chunks, the peanuts actually were thrown in raw.. what I think is the more traditional way which is to actually burn the peanuts a little bit, but that's okay, it didn't take down the dish any. Their brown rice is of the very dark kind, which I like, and goes so well with the curry. Service was wonderful from the bartender but was also provided by the rest of the staff and everyone was so nice. I left there feeling so satisfied, and cannot wait to go back and try some other dishes.
