Excellent service on every level! They were highly communicative throughout the process to make sure everything was lined up and ready to go. The team of 4 that came over to move our 4 bedroom house was excellent. They were efficient, orderly, thoughtful, and hard working. Cost was very reasonable and absolutely worth every penny. We had the entire inside painted before moving in. There is not one single scratch or ding in any part of the house and there was not a single bit of damage of any kind on our stuff. I was really impressed at how careful they were while still being quick. On top of it all, everyone was super positive and cheerful, which helps with the stress of moving. Update: since the owner wants to talk about specific. 1. They took 2 breaks to eat and we provided them food (pizza to be exact) which by the way they left their dirty plates and bottles on the hallway which we ended up cleaning after them. Maybe don't run your mouth without asking your guys that question. 2. They did not carry everything 200 feet (only 2 couches and washer dryer) they loaded everything else on the back of my friends truck who drove it to the building and they unloaded it. 3. On the quote when I requested it, I did specify that they are going down from the 3rd floor and going up to the 2nd floor if you lack reading comprehension that's not my fault. 4. Your lack of knowledge of banking / doing business is not my concern, you're a business owner it's your job to know the ins and outs of how to negotiate payment types and telling your guys to me "he doesn't have a bank account under top notch" is bullshit because unless you ask everyone to make it out to your name you have to have a bank account to negotiate checks, make payroll etc. Again, you try to bullshit your way out of bad reviews by playing the victim. At this point if there was a 0 or a negative star that's what you deserve so a 1 star will do. Any future clients: just get put a camera everywhere so you have concrete proof otherwise this unprofessional "professional mover" will try to make himself look like he's the one that suffered. To the owner: please don't respond with demeaning words or telling people they're confused or some face saving response just so future customers see a nice response. Use the same tone as you did over the phone when trying it strong arm me about the payee issue (see below). The 2 star (deducted a start for each con) is: 1. The moves arrived a few minutes late , no big deal but I think my 95 year old grandmother could move faster than them. They charge by the hour so of-course taking their sweet time= more money. 2. The amount of chit chat in between items was ridiculous. I had to continue to point them at boxes to get their attention off of their conversation with a family friend that was there to help. I had 2 other people there helping and we moved much faster than the "professional" movers and even with the additional help it took them 3.5 hours (with everything already packed and disassembled) to move into a 1 bedroom apartment in an adjacent building less than 200 feet away. The family friend still gave the guys a tip at the end which in my opinion was not earned. 3. The main reason why I'm giving them 2 star. The owner towards the end tries to pull a fast one and get me to write the check so to an individuals name and not the business, I can only assume why. When I refused he tried to bull#%^ me with "I'm giving you a lot of discounts" not once did I ask or receive a discount and not once did I negotiate his price. He gave me his cost and I said ok, at the end he gave me the total for 3.5 hours and I paid, no discounts. Next time try not to insult people with dumb remarks about some imaginary discounts or reasons why someone shouldn't make a check payable to a business who was contacted on here. Also try not to argue unless you have facts about how things word (payees / banks) The positive things that I say about the guys/movers are: 1. They were nice and accommodating when asked to do something or handle something a certain way. 2. They did not drop or break anything. 3. Top Notch did a great job!!!!! Strongly Recommended. Juan and Jeffrey were the movers. I had a complicated move for my mom. The move was smooth. Jeffrey and Juan work fast, no stalling and plenty of communication. Belongings were wrapped, plenty of blankets available to protect belongings. No dings on the walls. Called and scheduled David for a COMPLETE walk through. He gave estimate. I schedule approximately 6 weeks later, could have been longer. Original estimate was one day to pack and move. Using two trucks he rents from a local company. I had a very large home and asked many times " you think that's enough time and trucks" he'd say " yes ma'am not problem done this many times yadda yadda" fine I said. That morning had major issues getting the large trucks and they didn't arrive until 2 hours after original estimate. After over 12 hours of packing he realized he doesn't have enough room. And left items at the old house, good thing we didn't have to be out that night! disclosure about time: I had more things that I hadn't packed, again he said " no problem we'll handle it" ok fine I said. They left at midnight from the new home leaving trucks full of items and needing to get a THIRD truck to move the rest of the items to new house. They did digout the bed for us. Next day, another truck, now three trucks, and another twelve hours later and an additional $2250, almost doubling the original.. Let me add: I drove him round trip twice to drop off the trucks ( 45 min round trip, which he laid on me that night), gave him some of my personal items including a gun cabinet, some old but very good speakers, and fed the crew twice ($200 in pizza and sandwiches) and I still got stiffed an ADDITIONAL $2250... wow. It was midnight I was exhausted and just wrote the check. Stupid me. Positives: not much got damaged, a very high end sub woofer is damaged ( I didn't tell them because I JUST realized it's damaged, and a few i items that isn't a big deal) moving is hard on your items and I expect some wear, tear and damage. Cons: estimation was WAY off ... twice , I have text proof, I said " you sure two trucks is enough" again.. yep no worries we got this. Crew was getting very fussy as well. And they had a little pow wow around 9pm. And they left coke cans everywhere front the case of Coke's I supplied.I DO know we asked a few extra things like stacking boxes a certain way, because they just unloaded a bunch into garage it was a complete mess and we needed some order, but we were paying by the hour sooooo... ‍ His poor estimation Cost me dearly. David and his worker were very courteous and they did finish the job, but the total cost and the time estimation were off and they arrived two hours after my 5 p.m. scheduled moving time. As such, they had to finish my move in the dark. The move was estimate for three hours from start to finish, but it took over four hours to complete. I paid $450.00 for a move two blocks away from my previous location. I did the same move almost two years ago with another moving company, and it cost me less money and took less time to move a farther distance, from Natomas to East Sacramento. I also did my best to help out and move items as well, because I knew if I didn't help it would take even longer and cost more. I know have a lot of stuff for a one-bedroom, and I did mention that quite a few times when David was providing the estimate, but he reassured me that it would still take about 3 hours with 2 guys. I was also a bit disappointed with the administrative side of the business... There was no papers to sign, and he wasn't sure if he was supposed to supply me with a truck or not. Today was the third time I've worked with David and his crew over the last five years, and this definitely won't be the last! (I know, I really need to settle down somewhere...) I appreciate working with a family business because it truly makes all the difference. These guys are just NICE. I don't know how else to explain it. They never complained about anything and somehow managed to keep a smile on their faces even though I had some pretty heavy boxes to lift up a flight of stairs. My belongings were wrapped and packed into their truck beautifully; these guys really know how to play a game of Tetris with your boxes! You really cannot find another moving company that will treat you like family. Seriously, I can't stress how nice these guys are. I never once felt like I was inconveniencing them. The owner called and informed me that his only 2 available movers did not show up for work and he had no other employees to help me. He was very apologetic but had no solution. I hate to leave a negative review on a small business but it's important for customers to be aware that this company is unreliable because they have no back up employees. This created a significant hardship for me including additional costs for my u-haul having to be extended another full day. I was completely stranded and had to move myself. These guys are great! At the time I needed someone to come the next morning and they were able to do that for me. They were on time, professional, hard working, easy to talk to, and they were careful with my things. I think that I got very lucky to have had them help me move. I highly recommend this company, they're top notch! UPDATE: I went to my storage unit yesterday, it was the first time that I had been there since these guys helped me move. On the day of the move, David kept telling me to go sit down and relax while they loaded up the truck with my stuff, but I didn't. By the time we got to my storage, I was pretty tired so I sat down and relaxed while they unloaded the truck into my unit. I had already moved most of my things to storage during the previous week, so what they did was move the bigger things that wouldn't fit in my my car, barely one load, only took about an hour and a half. When they were finished, I walked down the hall with them to lock up my unit. When we got there, I was surprised to see that it was filled all the way to the door. I thought this last load of my stuff must have taken up the rest of the unit. Well I was wrong. Yesterday, after wrestling with two recliners (one upside down on top of the other) and a futon frame to get inside, there was more space! What it looks like they actually did was just throw everything into the unit, literally, then threw a big rolled up rug on top of it all. Then they blocked the mess with big pieces of furniture and a couple big boxes. I couldn't believe what I saw. There were upside down boxes that had emptied onto the floor. I saw a lid to my Christmas keepsakes with no box, and so much more. I couldn't get to most of it because the way they threw everything in there created a safety hazard. Now I'm going to have to get somebody else to help undo what they did. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. UPDATE #2: I want to be fair to all and change my review to 2 stars because they were able to come and move the last of my stuff the morning after contacting them. Although David is not a very honest person, he was friendly and easy to talk to. They showed up in a U-haul truck, so I asked David and his helper to stop moving my things into the truck until he showed me proof they were a legit company, they didn't stop. While his helper continued loading my things into the truck, David said his business license was #4204 and had me talk to a woman (his wife?) on the phone, and she convinced me they were a real company. They are very hard workers but were not careful with my things and several items were broken due to the way they loaded them into my storage unit. I wasn't given a receipt or invoice until after my second review when David contacted me about it, and I had to ask for it. I should have researched them better before hiring them, but that's what I get for trusting YELP to do it for me, and NO you don't have to have a business license to advertise your "company" on YELP. read more

David and Daniel are incredibly courteous and professional, not mention really strong. We had several cumbersome and heavy pieces of furniture and they moved them with ease, and one even needed to be moved down a flight of stairs. What an awesome job! Our move was two fold, moving furniture within our home, and loading and unloading an entire storage unit, into our home. It was a good size job for two guys, but they made it look easy, and got in done in less time than we had estimated. David and Daniel even took the time to returned to our home, after they had left and we had settled up, to help us out, when we discovered we couldn't rearrange a large table on our own. Where we had another company (Pete) who committed to us on a Thursday for a Friday but never showed up. The movers were excellent. They carefully wrapped each piece of our furniture. This is a delayed review since David and Top Notch Moving moved us from northern California to Reno/Sparks NV area. David was awesome to work with. When he tells you that he doesn't want you to worry about your move, he delivers on that promise. We had a hellish closing on our home due to downstream parties not being ready. We had to postpone David several times and each time he assured me that they would be there for us when all properties closed and we were cleared to move. And he delivered again on his promise. They loaded, moved and unloaded our entire 2,700 sq ft home from Orangevale, CA to Sparks, NV in less than nine hours. Wow! The Top Notch Moving team wrapped all my furniture and everything made it to the new house with no damage. I was impressed with how much care the team took in wrapping and protecting our furniture and appliances. I have moved more times in my life than I care to admit, but this move from Top Notch Moving was by far the best moving experience I've ever had!!! I would hire them again and refer them to friends, etc., We had 2200 sq ft house and moved a couple miles away, it was $625 for the first 3 hours and we went over a hour and a half so not bad. Stay on the guys and keep them moving with help, things went smoothly except for our big fridge but that's expected. Nothing was broke and arrived safely. Only issue we had was they were almost a hour late but they answered my text messages and kept me informed. These boys work hard, we fed them pizza after and off they went to another job after ours!
