We selected Good Movers based on their five-star Yelp rating and the positive customer comments.. We were only moving a couple miles down the road, but needed assistance on the larger items (e.g., piano, washer and dryer, refrigerator, sofas, curio cabinets, etc.). James was reassuring in that the move would be no problem. He had a crew of three guys and they were experienced, efficient and professional! They used shoulder straps/harness with two men carrying in the huge items. James said that was the preferred method because dollys could scratch up the walls. They even made a second trip to pick up a large vintage stereo cabinet at my mother-in-law's house nearby.....I know that was a heavy item. It was well worth the cost (three man crew $200/hour for five hours = $1.000). I would definitely recommend them! Thanks guys! Stan read more

I was searching through Yelp for reviews of local companies for my move within the Sacramento area. After requesting multiple quotes, Good Movers was by far the most reasonable in price without any of the hidden costs I was finding with other companies. They also had almost all 5 star ratings and James got back to me quickly and answered all my questions (I always have many) with patience. As impressed with Good Movers before my move, I was even happier once they arrived! They were on time and even though I paid for a 3 man crew; James came along to assist as well. From the one moment they arrived they communicated consistently to ensure everything we wanted moved was being taken and worked so incredibly fast while also taking extreme care with all our items. Every piece of furniture was wrapped in both cloth and plastic wrap and extra care was taken to ensure walls were not scraped or marked. The main reason I hired movers for the first time was that I had a huge and heavy Treadmill that had been built in that room and I didn't know how I would ever get it out. They made quick work of that beast! They also disassembled my washer/dryer at the old house and reassembled it on the second story of my new home. They went above and beyond the job assisting with fixing furniture that was already broken to make it functional in our new home. They were able to complete the move from a 2 story, 3 bedroom house to a 3 bedroom 2 story house with the closest access for their truck being 3 houses away in just over 3 hours!!! Did I mention they are so incredibly quick and efficient? And friendly too! I can't say enough positive things about Good Movers and would definitely recommend them to anyone I know! They also take all forms of payment including cash, Venmo and credit cards. read more

Good Movers - They covered all the stair rails with cloth! This made me so happy because this was a new build and they were so careful! - Movers Near Me

Good Movers are the BEST moving company I have ever used!! James and his team showed up on time, were professional, funny, took care of business efficiently and timely. I highly recommend Good Movers and will use them for future moves. Thank you for the tips on preventing mold for refrigerator storage and continue to make a difference as a Top Shelf Black Owned Business!! read more

The movers were SO great. I had been in my previous apartment for 7 years () and they helped wrap everything, including my precious plants, and vintage furniture, etc. They were on time, super efficient, and I can't believe they got all of my stuff in to an apartment in the Bay Area from Sacramento, half of the size.. I'm still very impressed. They were also so so sweet. It was like hanging out with friends all day. Even though I was extremely hungover and sweaty from moving, they were so much fun. Would happily call them again to hire if I ever move again lol read more

James, Jose, and the 3 other guys who helped me move TWICE in a 3 week period never ending forced relocation situation June 25th & July 13th, y'all are amazing, thank you so very much for getting s**t done! I owe y'all & will sing your praises to anybody. I was wholly underpacked & unprepared for my move, due to a combination of illness, work stress, a recent car accident, and ADHD analysis paralysis, but James & his crew efficiently moved every damn thing they could during my 1st move. All that was left was everything not furniture in my 1100 sq ft apt, and I had to get the molasses out & pack everything up for a second scheduled move a week later. A scheduling snafu pushed that out an extra week, but day of, James came through with a 4 man crew instead of 3, and wrapped up my move from a 2nd floor walk up to a 3rd floor walk up in under 3 hours. These cats are phenomenal for what they do. Easy paperwork, simple pricing, insurance, careful wrapping and loading, skill with moving into 'antique' buildings, great furniture set up, and a couple of them are comedians. Tip them well, moving is stressful as f**k as it is and with Good Movers you'll be able to relax while getting your crap from point A to point B. read more

I thought I published this a month ago! Sorry james and Jose! They did an awesome job! One of the few things that went flawless in our move! They picked up as promised from both our house and storage. They had to take 2 trucks for all our stuff from Sacramento to so cal. Not a single thing damaged in any way! I broke one shot glass, and that was me doing a bad job of unpacking. read more

Good movers is super, professional and reliable! my family have done a moving on March 8th 2019. They were on time, pretty fast and everything puts by order. After they done the moving, they were also kindly ask to help anything. Awesome team! We highly recommend this efficient moving company to everyone. This is SO overdue, but SO well deserved. These guys are incredible. They moved us from San Jose to Seattle! They were a little later getting to us than scheduled due to a fire that shut the road down (obviously not their fault), but man did they move like lightening when they got to us - everything was packed and transported to their van in just a few hours - both from our apartment and then our storage spot a few miles away. They took everything back to Sacramento that night, and then set off the next day to Seattle. By the following day, they had beat us to the city! They moved all of stuff quickly in to our new apartment - nothing was missing, broken or marked...incredible! They were super friendly, professional and just a pure delight to work with. Although I can't see us moving from Seattle, if we ever did, I would make a point to see if they could help us again. Don't bother with any other place - these guys are the real deal! read more

James even helped us to save money on the move and reassured me everything would be fine and it was. This was the smoothest move I've ever had. I highly recommend using Good Movers, because they really are "good movers". Everything I asked them to move and remove they did without question. These guys are the best! I hadn't moved in forever, so I was a little nervous about it. My move was from a house to a storage unit. James' crew is responsive and affordable. Easy to schedule and communicate with. Answered all my questions before the move. They came in, assessed what needed to be moved and handled it in a very professional way. Very friendly and fun, too! They packed everything carefully and did an awesome job filling the storage unit. It couldn't have been a better experience. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Thank you guys for making the move so quick, efficient, and easy! read more

Good Movers - Nice, neat storage packed to protect. - Movers Near Me

The best moving company I have dealt with in a long time. Punctual and hard working movers at a very affordable rate. They were able to move my 2 bed apartment and garage across town in 3 hours. The 3 man crew worked seamlessly with one worker prepping furniture and the other two moving and packing the truck. I will definitely be using them again for my next move. read more

These guys are awesome. My sister and I spent maybe 24+ hours packing up our 1600 sq ft apartment and they were able to load it all into their truck in under 1h and 30mins. They also went out of their way to help us load into our storage unit and drop some of our stuff off at a second location. We had tons of glass tables, plants, and lamps, and everything survived the move in one piece. On top of that, they were all super funny and fun to spend the day with. Honestly can't recommend them enough! read more

This review is a bit late. I have used good movers 2x. Once to move from Sacramento to San Francisco on Nov 2019 and a year later to move my father in law from Sacramento to our San Francisco apartment. They are professional and careful moving our furniture. They arrived on time and are ready to get started. For the second time we used them they wearing masks during the covid pandemic. I would recommend GOOD movers to anyone. These guys are the best. read more

I hired Good Movers to do a move 90 minutes away from my previous address. They showed up on time, very punctual and started moving things immediately. I was impressed how fast they loaded all of my 1 bedroom apartment (including a giant sectional and cal king bed). I would definitely use these guys again and recommend you all try them as well. read more

We just completed a move on Friday and used Good Movers. They showed up on time, wrapped/padded all of our furniture and loaded our boxes onto their truck in just over two hours. Arrived at the new house and unloaded in about two hours as well. James and his crew were awesome and professional. Took extra care making sure nothing was damaged. They also take apart and reassemble all of your furniture, including setting up appliances in the new location. James also went the extra mile in my opinion - he noticed that our dryer had the wrong type of wire for the outlet in our new house. He let me know right away, and I was able to pop over to Home Depot to get the correct wire. He took the time to take off the old sure, install the new wire and hooked everything up to make sure it all worked. I would 100% recommend them to anyone, and plan to use them for any moving needs in the future. read more

These guys are top notch. This was the first time anyone in our family has used a moving company. My husband is a disabled veteran and could not help, but these guys put him at ease because they were respectful, nice and funny. They took pride in their work as they wrapped everything and handled with care. They worked so quickly and efficiently it was like watching a well oiled machine. We were amazed. It has been a couple of weeks and we still talk about how amazed we were with the job they did. We are older and we don't have ikea lightweight furniture anymore. They must have been Tetris champions in their previous positions. Good people and we look forward to using them anytime we have to move anything. My only regret was not using them with previous moves. My husband and I are very grateful for their help. They are trustworthy and we have be recommending them to anyone who would listen. read more

There's really no reason to look elsewhere, because these guys have the "bang for the buck" category locked down. Punctual, professional and very efficient, no time wasted! We were absolutely blown away by how quickly they worked, especially when dealing with a sloped driveway and multiple sets of stairs during the unload. They're very fast without sacrificing the careful treatment of the items they're moving; they wrapped every single piece of furniture they put on the truck! They made sure everything went exactly where we wanted it and took away all of the stress and frustration that comes with moving. Another company quoted Even if you already have another company in mind, don't book your move until you've given James and his crew a chance to take care of you.
