This was my first time going to top nail. Wonderful experience the owner Michael did amazing. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he did it exactly and then went a step further and made it even better. This is the best set I've ever gotten in my life, I will definitely be going back.

I love getting my nails done at Top Nails! I come here pretty often. To those who are considering coming here - do it!! I've gotten many compliments on my nails since I've started coming here. Michael and T have been doing nails for more than 20 years and it clearly shows in their work. They are very gentle when it comes to fiberglass/acrylic nail removal and filing. They consistently apply the fiberglass in a way that is even, smooth, and not too thick or thin. I never have a problem with lifting, which is nice because I like to get fills. Also just a heads up: cash is the preferred and recommended method of payment here!

This guy mutilated my feet. Every toe he cut the skin to bleeding. On my big toe, he pulled the nail all the way down the side and it bled like crazy and he just said "oh, does it hurt?" Hate to see if I'm going to get an infection now. Not one nail was evenly filed. Just a mess. Not even 2 minutes rubbing my legs. Spent more time cleaning his station. Was in and out in 20 minutWaste of time and money AND it was the worst pain and pedicure I ever had.

I'm always so happy with what he gives me. When I came in he informed me that he had a whole bunch of new colors and powders. I selected 144 (natural) and 78 (black sparkle) for my look today. Ive been living in Reno and am now back at my home in Wilseyville. I looked at Yelp to see who has the highest rating and found out about Top Nails and especially Michael. My nails were a mess when I walked in and by the time I left, I was not only very happy with my nails but realized that Michael was absolutely wonderful at what he does and didn't hurt me once! I love supporting local small businesses. Aside from fueling local economies -- it really supports the livelihood of families within those local communities. Anyway, I'm in town for a few days with family and needed a quick manicure. I called for an appointment and arrived earlier than expected, and was seated immediately. My nail technician was meticulous and ensured I was satisfied every step of the way. He even triple checked that I was satisfied with the shape before proceeding. I was very happy that I was in and out in 40 minutes for a shellac manicure. These guys have a lot of pretty colors to choose from too. Cash only. No ATM on site so bring the greens. Walk-Ins are welcomed but appointments preferred. Friendly family running the shop. Support local! read more

Positives: staff were really nice. I got a gel mani/pedi and am happy with how it turned out. The price was reasonable I paid $75. Negatives: They didn't have a menu to pick from. Not the nicest inside. This is my 2nd nail salon I've tried in the area and for the price and the quality of work I'll come back. I did call to make an appointment in advance there wasn't any wait time. read more

It pains me to give one star but paying $65 for a gel manicure and reg. Pedicure for it to last one week sucks!! My toenails were cut to short showing the nailed bed resulting in an ingrown toe nail. My feet were scrubbed with a soft pad. Not a great experience, I do not recommend. read more

Used to be a very happy customer. Then Michael did a horrible, rushed pedicure that involved getting oil on my clothes. I had made my appointing another person but he interceded for some reason. I swore I'd never go back but gave them one more try. The woman (didn't get make) used a Dremel (?) on both by hands and feet. Ruined my nails until they grew out and made my fingers bleed. Never again! read more

Run, don't walk to Top Nails! This was the third place I tried since moving to the area, and let me tell you.... THEY ARE AWESOME!!! Michael is incredibly talented and FUNNY! He told me the price before he started and also explained what service would be best for my nails and lifestyle, and he was right! This was a last minute visit with my 2 friends. To be fair, the man and woman running the place were very inviting and sweet to us. They accommodated our 3 manicures and 2 pedicures. It was a tab expensive (I paid $75 alone for a mani/pedi combo), which is fine...except this all occurred yesterday and my gel manicure is peeling off today. Both of my friends were completely unsatisfied by their work but I was content and happy...until the peeling happened today. I actually chose this place because it was one of the highest starred places in the area so that is ultimately why I chose to submit a negative one. I think it's only fair! read more

This has been the best choice for the day in Jackson CA. I called and owners were very friendly and accommodating for the last minute appointment before holidays. Horrible i don't like it i don't know why so many good reviews I get Acrylic nails and she said used fiber glass she use regular powder acrylic and the liquid look not clean I think they use the liquid with all clients and they keep refilling with new liquid the dirty liquid I saw it and them it was no clean and the brush they used it have powder for other clients and also I don't like the results . read more

First off I want to start this review by saying they fit us in very late in the day and I super appreciate that. However I was very oblivious to the fact it was a holiday for them and they had somewhere to be after. I feel like they rushed everything and made the whole process very unrelaxing due to that. So then why not turn us away if you need to be out by a certain time? My cuticles are extremely sore and my friend was cut. I love the way my nails turned out but my friend is pretty unhappy with hers by Michael are all pretty uneven. I have always had good experiences here so I chalk it up to them being worn out from the day and in a hurry to go visit family. However, today my fingers are more sore than they've ever been. I will definitely be back as normally I have good experiences here tho and they are extremely kind and there nails easily lasted me 6 weeks + without a fill read more

I started going to Top Nails around 2013-2014. My mom used to get her nails done by T when I was growing up and now I get my nails done by her. I have also had my nails done by Michael at times and both have always done a great job. What I like about Top Nails is that I get quality for my money (I have never had a nail pop off in the years I've been going here), the staff is friendly, the nail salon always appears clean and well kept up, and they always communicate with me to make sure what they are doing isn't hurting me. I've only ever been to one other nail salon in Jackson, and I had an awful experience where my fingers were cut by the electric nail file in several places, making my cuticles so swollen and inflamed and I received no apology or recognition from the nail technician, all because the person was rushing to do my nails. I never feel rushed at Top Nails and they take the time to make sure they don't accidentally hit my skin with the efile. If my skin gets hit a little with the efile (which doesn't happen very often here) they are quick to apologize and make sure I am okay, and I can tell they genuinely feel bad. I also love the gel nail polish they use, as it stays on the entire time until I get a refill. No chips. Keep in mind, I work an office job so I am not rough with my hands. I could go on and on about why I love this nail salon. I never go anywhere else to get my nails done and they will always have a faithful client in me. read more

Let me start by saying that these are very kind, hardworking people. We've been coming to this salon on again off again for the past 7 years. I know if I want an amazing acrylic set that T is my go to person. So I was really upset when my friend and I came here to get my bridal nails and they turned out pretty awful. There was acrylic all over my fingers, the polish was on my fingers and my cuticles were horrendously cut. The part that frustrates me the most is that I had shown them 3 pictures of what I wanted, if she couldn't do it why didn't she say so? Instead when we told them that the nails weren't what i wanted they got very upset. Mind you this was 3 days before my wedding, and I'd told them that. I paid, tipped and left feeling mortified. Luckily I was able to find someone locally to fix this disaster but needless to say I'll never be coming back. read more

I've had so many bad nail experiences that I'm unfortunately really critical and I don't have one single bad thing to say about this experience! I wasn't sure about getting a short French on my natural nails or on tips but Jessica helped me decide that a new set of tips with builder gel would be better to match my inspiration photo and would be extremely durable for a long trip. LOVE the advice and she clearly was thinking about my needs which made me feel taken care of. I wanted a short French style and she perfectly matched the photo I provided. There was no nickel and diming, no pushy upsells, no gossiping or side eye glances to other workers. None of that! Jessica was easy to talk to without being overly chatty. The whole experience was incredibly relaxing. Being my first time here I was observing their workflow and on top of getting my full set done in less than 45 minutes she also politely acknowledged other customers as they came in and even answered a call. She's a salon rockstar for sure. She handled all the business, was a delight to sit with, and my nails came out perfect. Her French tips were also effortlessly hand painted with no guides or tapes and she perfectly matched my nail bed color to my skin tone with no questions asked. She's excellent. I've never had such a well executed finished product. Out the door my set was $70 which was cheaper than the hot mess of a job I got at another salon in town (who tried to charge me extra for prepping my cuticles). I'm still shocked. She has gone to this salon (Martell Nails & Spa) and this nail technician many times before and has always been happy with her results, which makes this experience even more disappointing. After getting an acrylic set in April, she immediately noticed some issues. One of the nails was extremely curved and looked noticeably off when her hand was flat, and the paint on the tips was uneven and bumpy. About two weeks later, her index fingernail started lifting on one side, causing the acrylic to sit crooked. As the nails grew out, she attempted to remove them but found that they were incredibly difficult to take off. Even after more than a month, several nails were still stuck on very tightly. During the removal process, one of the nails ripped off and caused her finger to bleed. She was eventually able to remove most of the set, but the thumb nails were so strongly attached that she couldn't get them off even after having the set on for well over a month. It's unfortunate because she has been a repeat customer and has had positive experiences in the past. However, this set had obvious quality issues from the beginning and ended up causing pain and damage during removal.

I'm a regular customer at Top Nails. My favorite thing about them is that they always take their time to make sure your nails are done right. I've been to only one other nail salon in the county and it felt like they were in a rush to get the nails done and I was left with raw skin around my nails, but definitely not at Top Nails. I get my nails done by T who always checks to make sure she isn't hurting you. It is a family owned shop and they clearly love what they do, and it shows. Everyone is very nice and they make you feel at home. I won't go anywhere else! read more

I went to Michael for a pedicure and full set. I LOVE him. He's very meticulous and really takes his time. The whole place has a very relaxed feel. Other places seem very rushed and are constantly trying to upsale. I also didn't have to mention the little "fixes". Once he saw anything askew, he fixed it. As long as I live in amador county, I will go to Michael at Top Nails. If I ever leave, I'd still probably go see Michael. read more

They were super friendly, stayed open late for me (and didn't rush my pedicure, either), charged a more than fair price and, did I mention my toes!!
