She has gone to this salon (Martell Nails & Spa) and this nail technician many times before and has always been happy with her results, which makes this experience even more disappointing. After getting an acrylic set in April, she immediately noticed some issues. One of the nails was extremely curved and looked noticeably off when her hand was flat, and the paint on the tips was uneven and bumpy. About two weeks later, her index fingernail started lifting on one side, causing the acrylic to sit crooked. As the nails grew out, she attempted to remove them but found that they were incredibly difficult to take off. Even after more than a month, several nails were still stuck on very tightly. During the removal process, one of the nails ripped off and caused her finger to bleed. She was eventually able to remove most of the set, but the thumb nails were so strongly attached that she couldn't get them off even after having the set on for well over a month. It's unfortunate because she has been a repeat customer and has had positive experiences in the past. However, this set had obvious quality issues from the beginning and ended up causing pain and damage during removal.

The shaping is uneven (my pinky is visibly crooked), and a significant amount of my natural nail was filed down on one side. My nails are still sore after the appointment, which shouldn't happen. I was initially told I would receive a refund or credit, but was later told that they looked much better after they were "fixed" that they would give me a certificate for a basic pedicure. The video attached shows what they look like "fixed" which look better than when they were initially done but there is no coming back from the damage of the over filed side wall. I've included photos and a video so you can see the issues for yourself. I'm not someone who is overly picky, but this experience and the final result were not acceptable. I won't be returning.

Don is really good, but when it comes to mani's he spends 2 minutes and my cuticles were ragged afterwards because he uses some sort of device to shave my cuticles instead of the normal way of cuticle remover and clippers. My fingernails looked like crap after he is done the next day. Will never pay again for this sub par service.
