All three services resulted in well above average results and I felt like I got exceptional personalized service from each tech. They took their time with me even though they were busy. I told him what that it said gel polish was $5 and he came back at me saying that wasn't true even after I showed him what it said. Went in for a manicure and gel polish with a friend. He had a pleasant experience with one of the girls. However my guy cut my cuticles to pieces. It's the next day now and they really really hurt. There's no reason for rushing through a customer so much that you actually injure them. If I had been there by myself I would have walked out. I walked into Top Nails with the expectation of getting an excellent mani/pedi while back in my hometown visiting family in January. It was my first time at the salon and it had been recommended. Now I understand why Top Nails merely has a 3-star overall rating. I was very disappointed! The technician that completed my mani/pedi services was not attentive to detail. He was in a hurry and seemed frustrated and "put out" when I asked him to even up several of my nails that he had filed crookedly. The entire experience felt like a "wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am" job. Okay WOW do not go here! Nail color was wrong (try GREEN instead of purple). Not at all their fault, it was a mistake from the nail polish company. But instead of addressing the obvious problem he at first rudely stated that it was the color I chose after I pointed out several times it was the wrong color, then still did not offer to fix it until I was actually crying in the chair. Made fun of me several times for taking my time to pick a nail color (their color options were limited, I was trying to find one I actually liked). He was putting acrylics on so I had plenty of time to choose. And to top it off, my friend was 15 minutes late for her appointment due to traffic so they punished her by seeing every other person first, including people that walked in after her. After nearly an hour and a half she decided not to get hers done. Van was rude to me about her being late even though I was on time. I was berated for asking him to fix the side of a nail. He replied "would you like me to put the acrylic on your skin?" I've never been treated so rudely in a salon in my life. To the point of making me cry! I never splurge on getting my nails done and now I really don't want to again. read more

I have been here multiple times in the past with no issues, however, my last 3 visits have been terrible. I always get a gel manicure and recently, they make little attempt to produce a quality product. The polish has been messy and uneven, and I once returned the next day to ask them to fix it, and the same woman just removed the polish near my cuticles and refilled them in just as messy as before. During my last visit, the man that did my manicure was very rough and would aggressively pull on my hands and wrists to position my hand precisely where he wanted it. Also, he pushed almost all of my cuticles too far back and 8 of my cuticles beds were in pain and bleeding. He mumbled under his breath about it like he was annoyed, but it was his fault. My nails stung for 2 days after that visit and I will not return. I will not recommend this business anymore. read more

I was getting my acrylics filled in and Lee decided not to replace one of the plastic nail ends and just use my natural (brittle) nail. When I asked why, he and the man working next to him laughed at me and acted very rude to me. For the rest of the session he was doing my nails he was obviously mad and continuously sighed the whole time. He was being so obviously rude to me in front of others that it made me extremely upset. I had been coming here for a few months when my regular manicurist was not available and I was taken care of by someone else. I addition to be rude and inattentive, I was rushed through. Well there is something to be said be said for taking your time and doing it right. I have never had a gel manicure that lasted less than two weeks, often I can stretch it for 3. My last one there was wearing off in 5 days, and when I went back to show them, fully expecting them to offer to fix them I was first told that I had done something to stain them. I have tried Top Nails near Harris Teeter a few times and I always have mixed results. I have had a good experience in the past but this last time was terrible. I got gel nails put on because I like to have something that can be filled in since I have thin nails. The guy didn't listen/understand anything I asked him to do. During the manicure part he cut me with the cuticle scissors which isn't normally a big deal but I hate when it happens he was also very rough and my fingers hurt the next day just from the shaping and filing that he did. I had my nails done on Thursday 05/09/2019 and this morning 8 out of 10 nails are lifting off of my real nail and one has fallen off completely it has only been 5 days total. He glued his finger to my finger with nail glue when putting the tips on and I could tell he didn't know what he was doing at all and probably should have left then. Now I'm looking to get them fixed but I refuse to step foot in this place again. read more

Awful service. I called and made an appointment, then called to confirm when I was on my way. Once I got there they were extremely busy, with probably 15 people waiting. I said I made a reservation and the man at the desk acted confused and said I wasn't on the list. I could tell he was the one I spoke to on the phone, and I gently reminded him that I called 10 minutes before to confirm the appointment. He then got extremely defensive, mumbled something about how sometimes he doesn't hear the phone (even though when I called he answered, and we had a full conversation) and shoved the waiting list sheet in front of me and told me to put my name on it to wait. He was very rude. The reason I made an appointment was so I didn't have to wait an hour before being seen, so I left and went to City Nails in the Ingles parking lot. Highly recommend them! I went here yesterday and got a gel manicure. The technician seemed too distracted to listen to what I was requesting and I had to repeat myself 3 different times of what I wanted done. She also cut one of my cuticles so bad it actually started bleeding. To top off my bad experience, the gel on three of my nails had 'bubbled up' and started to peel within 3 hours of having left. Just fine! Chose to come here with my aunt, we were walk-ins with no appointment and we waited 30 mins which was fine, they were a little busy. We were given a wait time estimate when we signed in for our pedicures. We walked around the neighboring stores and they were ready for us when we came back. It is your ordinary nail salon, nothing you wouldn't see just about everywhere else, though notably they had complimentary wine and soda (though we were never offered any, it was on the menu). Seemed to be of acceptable sanitation. My massage chair didn't work very well, some buttons on the remote did nothing. I am pretty sure it was just that one chair, and it worked enough that I didn't mind. Decent selection of polish colors. I was very happy with my choice. The pedicure was nice, nothing mindblowing, but I feel it was worth the price. We paid $30 each and got massage, paraffin wax, and polish. The menu said $30 for 30 minutes, and I am pretty confident we got at least 30 minutes. They did all the basic pedicure procedures (trimming, cuticles, foot scrubbing, etc) before asking which package we wanted, and from that point on it was about 20 minutes until we were finishing up being polished. The girls who did our nails were very nice and didn't seem to mind that I forgot to shave my legs (Sorry!) It's not the best place I have ever been to, but it is by far closer to being the best than it is to being the worst. i had a full set done 3 weeks ago which when I went I told them I wanted acrylic with painted pink tips I wound up with some type of two different kinds of acrylic ! not what I wanted it was what they wanted! the lady that did them said 25 dollars for a fill in and when I went to have them done they said 40!! that is ridiculous!!! then she lied and said she told me 40 no she did not!! if that had been the case I would have just waited till they all come off and paid the 50 for the full set!! but what really takes the cake they told me not to come back over 10 dollars!!!!!!! if I had been Chinese or minority it wouldn't have been a issue!!!! discrimination if I've ever seen it! and the last time I checked the language spoke in America is ENGLISH!!!!!! they need to learn it!! read more

They do a decent job on the manicures, however, they do not do so great with pedicures. My technician did not fully paint my nails. he could not understand that he was being too rough on the leg massage either. I tried explaining to him to be more gentle on my swollen legs as I am pregnant, but he kept on rubbing very hard during the massage so I cut the massage short. I feel like I did not get my moneys worth from the pedicure. It was also upsetting that the other technician who spoke better english would not communicate to him that he should not be so rough. I also got a wax there and the lady waxing me burnt my skin and left a lot of hairs unwaxed. I believe she was double dipping into the wax as well. I felt like the waxing experience was horrible and it left my skin irrated to the touch for days. After all the bad waxing and rough pedicure, the lady was trying to get me to pay more money and get more services done. These people are greedy and rush through their work.
