This was my first time here. Got seated immediately even as a walk-in, but it was in the morning they weren't too busy. Very friendly, lively environment. The owner was walking around chatting it up with everyone. My base application for my nail was good, the color I picked out looks like what I got. I wish I'd picked a little darker. I asked for almond shape like the picture and I did end up having to fix it a little bit afterwards. The pic I have here is right after I left the salon. The nail tech was struggling with the design though. I think it had more to do with the consistency of the gel polish than her skills because the heart came out great. She tried multiple gold glitter polishes and communicated to me about what was wrong and what I wanted. Looking back, I probably should've just done white like the heart. The end result was the line is too thick and some of the edges are smeared. In the pic you can kind of tell on the thumb there. I think that's just the unfortunate result of too much product under a uv lamp. It'll just move and melt in places you don't want it to be. It's been two weeks now and my nails are all still intact. Might try a few other places before I commit to this spot~ read more

Since the pandemic, the way business is done differently. #1 You need an appointment. #2 You need to wear a mask. I felt very secure in the cleanliness and the precautions Gloria has put in place at her salon. You are seated every other chair...if not you're the only one in the row. Each station has a very nice plexiglass shield, you just slide your hands in to watch the magic happen. Mia was my tech, as always now, she was wearing a mask and face shield. No massages are given, but honestly, it's for the best, there's not really a good way to get that accomplished without braking social distancing and realistically, I don't really need it. LOOK at my gorgeous purple dip! Never too bulky of thick. These ladies are top notch. Best nail salon in Altoona by far, hands down! read more

Pretty toes! This place was suggested for our recent girls day out. I have to tell you I have a fear with pedicures. It stems from a bad experience at a place that is no longer around. However years later my fear is stillll valid. Our party was 5 ladies. One of our group is a regular here. She had called ahead and gotten us the appointment. They were a little busy, but soon got us seated. They might have had a couple more people on staff but they got to us pretty fast. I enjoyed a complimentary drink as my feet soaked and the chair massaged. When the gentleman started on my feet I asked him to please take care due to my phobia. He did as I asked and it made for a very enjoyable experience. Got my toes all pretty and had a good time. read more

Probably the worst set of nails I have ever gotten. I asked for a design and I told her if it was too difficult I rather just do something else or whatever is easier, but they said their "nail design artist" could do it. I've never been so disappointed and sad by the end results. She rushed through it, used the wrong colors and every time she made a mistake she just tried to paint over it with a new color. The actual acrylic nail is great but the paint job is horrifying. I'm stunned that she was okay letting me leave with such nails. The other nail techs came over to look at my nails, laughed and walked away. I would never let a friend come here after this experience. read more

I was sitting in the waiting area waiting for my two teenage girls to get their nails done. There are 5 TVs in the place, and 2 of them were not only SHOWING but I had to LISTEN TO a nearly x-rated movie. I stood up and complained to the entire salon and asked the helpers to change the station. NOBODY CHANGED IT. After someone finally came to the register to take another customers money, I said "are you going to change the tv station?" She apologized but also defended herself for not knowing. I said "it's your responsibility and your job to know what you are broadcasting to children." No discount, no more apologies, a customer actually made fun of me, and then the manager walked away. WOW!!!! No class. I'm sick of no class!!!!! The movie was playing a graphic sex scene. With a whole lot of graphic language! They should have never let that happen. read more

I have been going here for several years and won't be back. On Saturday I got a pedicure and decided at the last minute to also do a manicure. I know the pedicure is 27.00 and I asked how much the manicure was and was told 12.00...when I paid I wasn't paying attention but she changed me $49.22 it was apparently her way of getting a bigger tip. I gave her 13.00 in cash as a tip. When I called back to tell them the woman who answered first argued with me and then acted like she didn't speak English and could no longer understand me. If you go here I would suggest you insist on an itemized receipt since this seems to be their way of making larger tips. I wish I could give them less than zero stars!! I had an AMAZING experience with my young niece here! The staff was so sweet with her! Lucky for us the staff sat us as far away from the bellowing lady who wrote the last review To the lady yelling in the lobby: I would like to complain about YOU. You howled in the lobby the WHOLE TIME I was there up to the last five minutes. "STAAAANDDDAAAARRDSSSS! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS GENERATION" etc etc it was god awful of you to act that way, get some standards yourself. The staff handled her howling as respectfully as possible. I have been here once before. The first time I went I waited over an hour. I thought maybe it was just a fluke, and they were understaffed. Tonight I went again with two other people for pedicures. We waited for over 50 minutes. Then the owner came over to tell my group that we are going to have to wait, because people that had an appointment, were going before my group. I arrived at 6:30, their appointment was for 7. The owner or manager or whoever it was, was rude, and not accommodating. If I could give this business zero stars I would. The fact that three other people before us were waiting for over an hour should have been a sign to just turn around and leave. Luckily another business down the street was still open and I was able to get my pedicure. Don't give this place your business. The large building does not mean they are fully staffed. They are always accommodating to what i like and want (and I love to switch up nail shapes and color like outfits) they have a whole bar as well, for the perfect relaxing experience. I swear every nail salon has their flaws but I didn't think this one would be that bad!! He kept nicking the sides of my fingers and rugged away at the skin until he saw red!! They smile are uneven on the sides and I am pretty sure I could compare one nail to the height of a giraffe and the other to a chihuahua??? Like what... NOT TO MENTION: Do the come up with a new price every time because my sister got her nails done ($5 for polish on the fingers and $5 for polis on the feet) and I got my gel set on my fingers (sign says $35) and somehow with tax it ended up being $70? Went here with my elderly mother. She has arthritis and calluses on her heals. Thought I would treat her to a nice pedicure for Mothers Day, boy was I wrong. Instead of helping my mother get into the chair, three of the employees just stood there, pointed, and laughed at her. When she was finally able to get situated, the guy who got 'stuck' with my mom laughed with the woman doing my feet, and they both pointed and laughed together. Then two of the 'managers' came over, one at a time, to laugh at me and my mother. Not to mention most of the guys were drinking bottles of beer. I used go here all the time because they did the best on my nails. The last several times I have been back their customer service has been awful. They are either VERY slow at doing my nails or go too fast and they look horrible and do not last long. Tonight was the icing on the cake. I asked for a fill and toe nails painted. They told me to take a seat it wouldn't be long, 45 minutes later the manager took a lady that WALKED IN after me and told me to wait a few minutes longer and someone else would be with me. This is unacceptable. The lady that came in after me did not have an appointment, I was next in line, yet the manager chose to do her nails first and leave me waiting even longer for someone to do mine. And then I was assigned a less experienced tech that I have had before and had problems with my nails. She is VERY slow at putting on my nails and at this point I had already waited 45 minutes, I didn't have time for another hour and a half at the salon. Do yourself a favor and find a different place. They only treat you special if you are a "regular" customer who goes there every two weeks. I was a faithful customer once a month but after tonight I will not be back. read more
