He had had lots of luck with Peabody Supply, so off I went. The saleslady was very condescending, so I asked her when she WOULDN'T be there so I could come back. How's that for a switch? I returned a few days later and told the salesman about my previous encounter. He apologized profusely and said she has been getting a lot of complaints. Okkkkkk. He showed me a few things, and I ordered the Maax shower, toilet, kitchen sink, bathroom cabinetry, bathroom sink, counter, and Kohler faucets. The selection wasn't huge, but I was able to find things that would work. The shower came in several weeks later and was delivered to the house. And a few weeks after that, the kitchen sink and faucets were delivered. So far, so good. A couple of months later, the builder asked if I knew when the rest of my order would be there, and I said it should be within a week or two. At this point, the work on the house was almost complete and the builder was anxious to finish. I called Peabody Supply, and it turns out they never ordered the cabinet or sink for the cabinet--not a good thing, since it takes six weeks to manufacture and deliver and I needed it in three weeks, at most. I went into the store, and my obnoxious saleslady was there (she changed days). She showed me a few cabinets that were in the warehouse, but they were pretty ugly and were wider than what I needed. She slammed down the product book and in an "outside" voice, "told" me that that's all she had. Umm. I left the store and never returned. (Note: Kitchen Associates was able to help with this and had the special order cabinet and Corian manufactured, delivered, and installed in about two weeks, and the resultant cabinet is much nicer...and less expensive...than the one I had originally "ordered." (See my review at http://www.yelp.com/biz/kitchen-associates-sterling#hrid:gTq28iacx7aXg0GTtUMNHQ/src:self .) There were other snafus with my order, but the bottom line is that my experience wasn't too great. Maybe yours will be different. I won't be returning. Good luck. Three stars cuz I'm nice.

However, our enthusiasm quickly waned as we encountered a cascade of issues throughout the project that was supposed to take 2 weeks but ended up lasting 4 months. Our troubles began with a logistical misstep when Andrew was directed to the wrong address by the office for our initial design meeting, more than 45 minutes away from our home. This error forced us to rearrange our schedules unexpectedly--a frustrating start that should have been a warning sign. Despite this setback, we proceeded due to Andrew's likable demeanor and the appealing renderings he created. By early December, we had finalized plans, paid the deposit, and scheduled a start date with assurances from the office. However, as the proposed start date approached in late January, we heard nothing from the office. Repeated attempts to obtain updates from Andrew yielded little, with him admitting difficulty in reaching our supposed project manager, Stephanie. Finally, mere days before the supposed start, Stephanie informed us of a delay due to awaiting parts--an excuse communicated at the eleventh hour and pushing our start date back weeks. Problems continued to mount once work began. During early stages, we were inexplicably billed over $1000 for a new shower valve and minimal additional labor, which was promptly found defective after new installation and required correction that we had to initiate. Miscommunications further plagued the project. Unsupervised workers assumed incorrect specifications for fixtures like the shower head and vanity, necessitating adjustments only when noticed and brought attention to by US, the clients. Moreover, the invasion of our privacy by the master electrician, who entered our secondary bathroom one morning when the lights were on, water was running, and the door was closed, epitomized the company's lack of professionalism and left us feeling VIOLATED in our own home. Administratively, the company proved equally inept. A Scheduled building inspection was missed due to our doorbell wire being cut by the same master electrician who walked in on one of us indecent days prior, costing us days of work. Despite promises in our initial quote, no company representative attended the building inspection (only plumbing and electric had a representative present), and we were nearly charged $495 for their absence until we contested. Critical elements such as shower wall alignments and door installations were botched, requiring extensive rework and further delays. The shower walls themselves took over a month to fix due to a lack of detail in lining up the hexagon pattern that we had selected in the corners of the shower. Not until we escalated this issue to the manufacturer were we acknowledged about our dissatisfaction and offered to make it right. When we finally sought resolution from management, our concerns were met with indifference and deflection. Hervey Afuine, the owner, displayed a dismissive attitude towards our grievances, even threatening legal action when pressed about the privacy violation--an incident he refused to acknowledge or address, yet quoted that the had an "issue" with the use of the word "violated" when describing the situation. In conclusion, our experience with this company fell far short of expectations. While Andrew initially impressed us, the pervasive issues with communication, work quality, and management overshadowed any positive aspects. We are unsure as to how a "project manager" is able to get away with "managing a project" without stepping one foot in on to view the actual project in person. We still have no idea what Stephanie's role was besides being cold, unresponsive, and lackluster in communication. The owner proved to us that he has absolutely no respect for women and only cares about his bottom line. He never once answered one email that we sent and it is clear that he does not like confrontation. KEEP SHOPPING.

Fantastic Experience - A Stress-Free Kitchen Transformation!…read more Last year we completed a full kitchen design and remodel done and I cannot recommend this team highly enough! My friend recommended kitchen & bath designer Mr. Soni Hanjra from Norfolk Kitchen & Bath, from the very first consultation to the final walkthrough, their service was exceptional. Mr. Hanjra took our vague ideas and turned them into a stunning, functional space that has truly become the heart of our home. The most impressive part of the experience was the clear communication and adherence to the timeline. They provided us with a detailed schedule upfront, and despite the complexity of the project, they hit every milestone exactly as discussed: * Design & Planning (Weeks 1-3): Mr. Hanjra was incredible, helping us select everything from the shaker-style cabinets to the perfect quartz countertops. They even provided 3D mockups so we could visualize the layout before anything was ordered. * Demolition & Rough-In (Weeks 4-5): The crew arrived exactly when they said they would. Demolition was efficient and surprisingly clean, followed quickly by the electrical and plumbing rough-ins. * Installation (Weeks 6-9): This is where it all came together. The cabinetry were installed first, followed by the countertop templating and installation. Even with the typical 1-2 week lead time for stone fabrication, they kept the project moving forward with other finishing tasks. Finishing Touches (Week 10): The final week was dedicated to the backsplash, appliance hookups, and paint. Throughout the entire process, the team was professional, punctual, and respectful of our home. I highly recommend Norfolk Kitchen & Bath if you are looking for a remodeling team that delivers high-quality craftsmanship without the usual "contractor headaches," this is the one. Update 11/8/20: see comments on my personal Facebook page…read more(Maureen Holmes) for comments on Robin Boyce after posting my review there. Unfortunately I am not the only one who has endured a bad experience with her. MH I warn anyone who will listen away from this unethical business and owner Robin Boyce. I had the misfortune to be her client and endure her careless, unprofessional, dishonest and ultimately abusive and vulgar treatment. My "custom kitchen" arrived without the custom elements and with a grossly oversized refrigerator. The kitchen designer blames someone else for a major kitchen error and refuses to fix it! (See photos) I had the exact same experience with the shutters and the custom stair-runner I ordered from her. They were both delivered with errors and missing parts, and Design West has done NOTHING to correct its errors. This is the worst experience I've ever had with another human being, period. I never received an apology on any mistake I swear to God. That's when I realized too late I had hired the wrong person. Robin Boyce/Design Center West scammed me by promising professional results and delivering dirt. Robin Boyce then turned verbally abusive when confronted with her easily disproved lies. (I have all documentation to prove my charges.) This last point deserves special mention. When I expressed my dismay at the errors, delays and lack of accountability, her demeanor shifted immediately from friendly to combative and borderline violent. It was a shock to learn the owner wasn't just a sleaze but mentally unhinged too. When I confronted her in her store after she ignored my contractor's emails and texts, she began screaming profanities at me while hurling insults about my appearance and character, which I presumed was an intimidation tactic. That felt sickening, but it worsened when she came at me with her arm pulled back as if to throw a punch, but thankfully she stopped herself before landing her fist in my face. I feel certain the only thing that stopped her was a possible assault charge. I would feel sorry for Ms Boyce if she wasn't a thief, and if her emotional instability didn't manifest in such an ugly manner. But no mental state excuses her dishonesty, mentally healthy or not. Not a word of this review is hyperbole. I lost thousands of dollars and was blindsided by a venomous verbal assault because I had the temerity to call out Robin Boyce on her mendacity and fraud. I could provide a colorful litany of her actions, but suffice it to say that it involved a lot of obscene finger, hip and hand gestures. Incidentally, her staff just sat there like dummies the entire time and let it all happen. Apparently they don't have an issue working for such a repulsive woman. Prior to my dealings with her, Robin was verbally abusive to my contractor on multiple occasions as well when he asked her about delayed deliverables. Following is an example of one the few correspondences between him and Robin that isn't littered with her F-bombs: "Shut up. Stop talking. Don't tell me what to do. Its not Maureen... its you. I'm surprised guys take your mouth, and the way you talk down to others; I suspect you've been punched a few times." This is the first---and I hope last--bad review I ever had to write. Let this brutally honest review serve as a public service announcement to warn others away from this troublemaker. Do not hire Design Center West. You will pay a premium for sloppy, mediocre results, and the owner will curse you when you express your dissatisfaction. This has been a yearlong nightmare that only ended after I hired someone else to fix all of her mistakes. Caveat emptor!

Even during the pandemic she has been on top of things and instructing me to get things ordered prior to shipment delays. She and her team have been responsible, proactive, and truly professional. They are communicating with my contractor and his team and his cabinet installer told me it was such a pleasure working with them he would like to do more jobs with them. Any mistakes (Fedex dropped a vanity and it cracked) were handled quickly and replaced at no cost to me. Her attention to detail is incredible. Additionally, she was very focused on saving me money and making sure I was not buying things I did not need. It has been a true pleasure working with Robin and her team again. I cannot say enough good things about them!
