I came here to have 3 dressed hemmed and altered. The turnaround was great and timely, but I was charged 3 very different prices for 3 very similar pieces ($35 for beaded dress, $40 for evening gown and the third time I went they charged me $70 for an evening gown). The pricing is very inconsistent and Varys greatly from their pricing menu that hangs in the store. The hem job is okay, but a little uneven along the bottom length wise. They also mis-charged me for my last alternation and even though my receipt said paid, I had to pay again upon pickup because of a cashier error. Fine to go here for quick fixes on nonessential garments, but I'd definitely recommend going elsewhere if you need precision for a consistent price. read more

Do not go here for alterations! I had some curtains shortened here, you think this would be an easy job that even the most incompetent tailor couldn't mess up. All 6 curtains were shortened different lengths, ranging from 8-12 inches when I requested only 5 1/5 inches removed! I've been coming here for quite a few years to get minor tailoring done (e.g. hems of pants, fitting of dress shirts, and the occasional jacket modification). If you can, have the wife(?) do your measurements because I believe she does most of the subsequent sewing and I've had things come out a little differently than what I expected when the husband(?) measures and/or sews. That being said, for minor alterations their prices are more than fair and turn around is reasonable. I've not done much dry cleaning here as I use a closer store for that but the few things I've had cleaned turned out fine. Bottom line, cheap/quick tailoring and friendly service. Definitely not coming back here again. They wouldn't take my credit card unless it was $10 minimum. I asked the day before if they take credit card when they rang up my total of $7.50, and they didn't mention anything pertaining to the minimum nor was there any signage out front to reflect this. They said they "couldn't budge" and basically I had to pay the extra $2.50 just to use my CC. What crappy customer service. Big fail on their part. And on top of that, the clothes were only decently dry cleaned, so they get 1 star for that. read more

Fantastic! I them brought two skirts and one pair of linen pants, all to be altered. One skirt was approx two sizes too big, and the other two pieces had to be taken in from the back seam due to ornaments/buttons. All items came back beautifully done. Not a single complaint from me! Im astonished really, they fit me like a glove. Did I mention prices were perfect? I went to a tailor on Bedford in Williamsburg initially, and they wanted $45 for the pants alone! Did an ok job with altering. Don't bring anything expensive in here. I brought a coat in here to alter the sleeves. The sleeves are a tad bit uneven but I didn't mind. The inside sewing is horrible and 2 buttons already fell off and lost them one one side. read more

This Tailor/Cleaner always feels the need to detached parts off your garment. I've trusted them twice with my clothing but they always seem to loose a button or two. Both times they tried to blame the missing parts on me. One time when I asked an elderly women that works there, to see if she could find the missing parts in the back somewhere, she laughed at me saying "It came like that". After much insisting on my part to look for it, she finally checked and found the missing piece. She then blamed it on the manufacture of the coat saying " they sewed it wrong". The second time the same lady refused to look for the missing part and said to find that piece in a fabric store. This place should be more careful regarding its business. I can't say they did a flawless job with either, but they were both fine--and for $18 total, I really can't complain! I don't want to hype it too much to give away this secret spot, but they are AMAZING!! We get everything tailored perfectly and the prices are unreal. Even have friends now coming from midtown just to get decent tailoring that is so affordable. Dry cleaning has always been great. I never write reviews, but the inconvenience that I've experienced the last few days due to this dry cleaner is pretty absurd. I will say that the one time that I have had them dry clean clothes for me the clothes have come back perfectly fine, a bit stiff feeling, but clean. I have been attempting to drop of a second batch of clothing to this store for the last 3 days. I was verbally told by an employee over the phone that they open at 7:30am and close at 7pm. I have tried to go to their store the last two mornings and have left work early to make it there by 7pm and they have not been open any of the 4 times I've tried to go. They also are not picking up their phone and have no way to leave a voicemail. This is just silly on their part - I will find another dry cleaner, not because they are bad at cleaning clothing, but because they have a business that apparently doesn't open... read more

Fast, inexpensive, straightforward dry cleaning. I always walk here instead of the place closer to my house because the employees are always accommodating and kind. I've also had very minor alterations - e.g. sewing up a ripped seam - and they frequently do quick jobs on the spot, for only a few dollars. I understand another reviewer's complaint about their hours - it's a small shop, and I've seen them close 10 or 15 minutes early when there is bad weather and it's empty, but I've never had a problem personally. read more

Not coming back to this place either. I brought a jacket on Monday and they told me to pick it up on Thursday. Thursday was Thanksgiving so I thought they would be closed but they were not. When I went to pick my jacket they couldn't find it... I spent some good 10 minutes for them to find my jacket. I spotted it on top of a chair... They apologized and said it wasn't ready... They asked me if I could come back on Monday. I came back on Monday and the jacket was again missing... While they looked for it I spoke to another customer that was in the line. She said she's been waiting for her bed coverings for months... They finally found my jacket. It was obvious that they hadn't cleaned it. I told them so, and they answered that it was a very old jacket and some staines couldn't be removed... I told them it was not about the stains but about the "smell". it didn't smell like they had cleaned it. I told them the jacket was just pressed, but not cleaned. The lady in the counter was a bit rude and began ignoring me. I paid the jacket and left. I don't think I will ever come back to this place. read more

These people are as phony as they come, they pick up my dry cleaning and deliver it when I call. On every occasion I ask for them to send me a receipt for my pick up. They never have. I called and asked if they could drop off my cleaning to my home and my wife would pay, I asked them how much was my bill, he told me $53.25. I was concerned since I had sent 2 pairs of pants to be hemmed and another pair of pants from a suit never worn and I specified just press the pants. I also sent a button down collared shirt that was washed and pressed already and was missing a button on the collar. On the phone I questioned the owner Sanchez how he got to the price, going over the bill and with my questions he gave me 3 different prices. Then he said he didn't want to discuss it and hung up on me. I went to the store tried to reason with him,he refused I paid the bill, he said it was a communication problem. He told me that his guy that picked up my clothes said they should clean everything Once before he lost a pair of pants on me and I let it go. I recommend Broadway cleaners in the neighborhood. They used to be on Grand Street and were always professional. They moved from Grand Street and weren't as convenient Big mistake on my part. I won't walk but will run back to Broadway Cleaners. In the meantime, I will file a complaint with consumer affairs and might even spend the time and go to small claims court. read more

Dry cleaning is pretty good and definitely fast, but the tailoring is TERRIBLE. On two separate occasions I brought items to be fixed. The first was a pair of jeans which the zipper needed to be replaced. They replaced the zipper, didn't bother to sew shut the 2" hole they put in the crotch of the pants underneath the zipper hole. Beside this, they also made an additional hole in the jeans with a seam ripper. The second time was a suit that they tailored for my husband. The stitches on the sleeve were so poorly done it looked like they had no tension at all on their sewing machine. Now I am forced to throw away a perfectly good pair of jeans and repair the "tailoring" work they did myself. Send out your dirty garments here, but find someone better for tailoring work. read more
