This location is in a nice plaza with a lot of other retail and dining options. Parking lot is always a little crazy but there's the additional space kind of behind the store (next to it technically) if the main lot out front is full.

The only time I have been in this mall before this trip was before the pandemic when I arrived in town having forgotten my Apple Watch charger at home. We went straight from DTW to the Apple store here, purchased one and left. We had time to look around on this trip as we had promised our granddaughter a trip to the mall on a rainy Sunday. As we walked in, I had an overwhelming sense of recognition of a store attempting to pass as a Nordstrom, a brand that we lost at home a few years ago during a downsizing event, leaving Colorado, my home state, with just one store left, and in Denver. The layout was so similar, I could find particular categories of goods at a glance. Even the rack choices were the same, the signage fonts too. Each area had a formally dressed staff member, waiting for customer questions, often with their hands held at their sides. And always smiling, not unlike statues. I had worked in a different company and in Colorado years ago in retail management but with a more casual engagement sales model. If no customers actively in sight, my staff always found things to do, arranging sizes or colors of items that had been moved out of place on a busy day. I also noticed that the prices here seemed far more affordable than I usually saw in Nordstrom's. The other thing I noticed was that I did not recognize most of the brand names and the feel of the fabrics was of a lower quality. I did not see styles that would have been expected in Colorado and not surprising as I had never shopped in the Midwest. Regional differences are very real. My granddaughter and my husband wandered over to the children's department, not to look for clothes but for a fun object and she found some trendy Squishables, one of which she convinced her grandfather to purchase for her. It was purple and came in a box, is the only description I can offer. But you really could squish into anything you wanted. It made her happy and that's what counts. If I lived in town here, I cannot imagine that I would come here again. You'd probably find me over at the REI store where I have shopped in the past, even for dresses! I once found one in my size when here on an earlier visit, which was sold out at both my home REI and their Seattle warehouse. I promptly bought it and I still have it though it no longer fits. It's one of those things that never goes out of style, is beautiful quality fabric and well-constructed. I am wearing it in my profile picture in the "Hiking at Boulder Falls" picture from a few years back. I am still hoping that someday it will fit again. I'm glad I saw this place so I can really appreciate regional differences and I will say, when I actively engaged staff, they were very polite.

I'm curvier on the bottom so typically jeans either fit me in the waist or thighs but rarely both. Or something seems to fit in store only to stretch out too much after a few wears and washes. Madewell jeans are perfect for me though! I buy their Curvy line, which fits me in the thigh AND waist without gapping, and now I just don't even bother trying to figure out my sizes/fit for other brands. They have some good sales and programs. End of season sales can find jeans like half off. There are student and healthcare worker discounts. If you bring in an old pair of jeans to recycle (and they don't even have to be Madewell), you get $20 off a new pair. But I've also purchased full price because they're just that good! The fit in both full length jeans and shorts work well for me. They also have a tailoring service if something doesn't fit perfectly, which I think is free for most pant purchases? So if you are curvier on the bottom and struggle with finding jeans that fit, I definitely recommend trying out Madewell! Aside from jeans... Nice, higher quality clothing, leaning more on the basic/classic end in style, cuts, and color. Also love Madewell shirts and dresses. Accessories (scarves, jewelry etc) are cute too. When I returned to the earring section, where my friends were still standing, I was approached by an employee. She continued prodding me about the earrings (are you sure you didn't put them down, where are they, etc...) I then realized she was accusing me of stealing them. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, she asked me to show her the exact place that I had set down the earrings (wtf) which I was able to do. She then walked away without even an apology. It goes without saying that accusing customers of stealing when you obviously have no idea what you are talking about is not only disrespectful, embarrassing (given that the store was incredibly crowded at the time), but extremely unprofessional. After issuing the gift card they told me that I would not be able to use the gift card because "their machine was down," essentially stealing $65 from me. Despite saying that they would reach out to me about the issue they never did and I had to call multiple times to resolve this issue. On the phone the worker called me rude (I don't know how trying to get a refund is considered "rude") and was extremely unhelpful. Finally they agreed to exchange the gift card for a different item (after 2 phone calls and 4 in store visits, I don't know why they couldn't have done this in the first place) This fiasco wasted me hours of time. Do yourself a favor and order a dress from somewhere else or head to a mall or basically anything but go to this store. If you must purchase something avoid interaction with Mary. She is completely clueless and obviously was not trained properly.
