Wonderful service and run by the sweetest owners! The breakfast croissant sandwiches are delicious- fresh eggs, cheese and they always throw in a couple of donuts holes with our order. The place is clean and they don't run it like a chain: closing at the exact minute or charging the to the exact penny. Sometimes they don't take credit/debit card, which is a bummer. My boyfriend threw a dollar into the tip jar but when the lady told us they didn't take card that day and he was one dollar short in cash (the dollar he had already tipped her), she said "no problem, you just tipped me", smiled and let us pay one dollar short. My favorite donut place in the valley! Personal favorites are the buttermilk old fashioned donut (SO luscious, moist, and just the right sweetness), the red velvet cake donut, and the croissant sandwiches (SO buttery and perfectly flakey). Even though their donuts are good and they give some extra donut holes with your order, it is not worth coming here because of their poor attitude and service. On my last visit (it was a Saturday morning), I purchased a cup of coffee along with my donuts. When I went to chose the coffee that I wanted (light roast), they were out of it. In fact, they were out of about three selections. I informed the woman at the counter (I think she is the owner) that the coffee pot was empty. Instead of being pleasant and trying to help me, she gave me "attitude" and acted like she was doing me a favor. This is not the first time I have encountered this attitude with her. There are plenty more donut shops in the neighborhood that welcome my business. Don't need this drama! read more

Saw flies flying in the donut display and the back area is dirty. When i told the clerk (owners son) he open the case and let the fly out. I would not buy anything they sale until they clean up the mess. Not to mention the little old lady (owner) is not very nice and very disrespectful - "just give me your money and get out" type of additude. read more

I waited in line for 5 minutes in the sun and when my turn came I gave my order and then I was told to speak to the other clerk who was taking care of 2 guys who was ordering everything one at a time. Top Donut is awesome. I don't know the name of the nice lady behind the counter, but she is always cool. They make the donuts right there and sometimes you get them fresh and hot. They also have breakfast sandwiches that are a nice change from fast food breakfast fare. They have big vats of fresh hot coffee (3 or 4 choices of coffee flavors) and it's self serve which save time. More options of cold sodas would be nice. You can self scan your lottery tickets while waiting. read more

This small place is tucked in a corner strip mall on Balboa and San Fernando Mission and is easy to miss. But the donuts are to die for! Soft and moist on the inside, perfectly done on the outside. I was in last week and the girl next to me said she always orders a mango smoothie and that she is addicted to them now, they are so good. Aside from the donuts and smoothies, they serve very reasonably priced sandwiches which I have not yet tried but intend to in the future. This is a great little place to take break while shopping at the many stores at this intersection, which include a Target, Trader Joes, Ross Dress for Less, Vons, and others.
