    I just love Peacocks

Still a nice convenient place. Simple and clean. Good food and quick service. I'm happy to have a decent good old fashion Chinese place in the area.

    Chicken and broccoli

I've been ordering front this place the past month maybe once every week. I've ordered chicken and broccoli, chicken lo mein, beef and broccoli, Szechuan beef, cheesesteak egg roll and hot and sour soup. The food is super fresh especially the veggies (I LOVE veggies), the taste is great and you get your moneys worth. Only thing I didn't like was the cheesesteak egg roll because it wasn't what I had before they use ground beef and it was barely any in there. They get a solid 4.5 stars from me! Also the lady at the register is always pleasant!

Lunch Portion of Shrimp Lo Mein and a side of fried rice

Don't judge! Top China isn't a fancy place by any stretch of the imagination BUT it is pretty good and definitely a cheap eat. Today I got Shrimp Lo Mein from off the lunch menu for under $6.50. Inside were soft noodles with plump shrimp, crunchy Napa cabbage cooked in a lovely garlicky sauce. I wasn't expecting the side of fried rice but it was pipping hot and while I would not give it a top notch rating, it wasn't bad. The portion were generous for lunch. In fact, there was so much I had enough for side dishes to salmon dinner. In a hurry? low on funds? Check em out!

This is all the French fries that came with my order of 15 wings. DO NOT GO HERE! Go somewhere else.

The food was really good--definitely my go-to spot for comforting meals. I usually wait about 20 minutes, but it's always worth it!

Good pickup spot. Chinese is blah so I only go for the hibachi which is a good portion especially for the price.

I have ordered take out from this restaurant twice. The first time I ordered I got Fried Chicken…read moreWings, Chicken Hunan Style, White Rice, and Lo Mein. Since this location is further away, I reheated the wings in the oven and they were deliciously crispy. The Lo Mein wasn't the exact style I had hoped for and the Hunan Chicken was decent but I could tell the veggies weren't fresh. I enjoyed the meal for the most part and thought I had finally located my carry out spot. The second time I ordered I got one Fried Chicken with Fried rice (pictured) and an extra order of just Fried Chicken, Broccoli with Garlic sauce and a side of white rice. I was disappointed by the presentation of the fried rice, and it didn't taste better than it looked. The broccoli's sauce looked watery and when we tasted it, it was not what we expected. Even after reheating it was not pleasant. I was going to still eat the food, so I dumped out some rice on my plate and BOOM, a black hair in the middle of the rice. The rice was compacted in the box so the rice was either packed into there or cooked in. I was disgusted, and ended up only eating a wing or two. I was so disappointed because I had a better experience my first time ordering. The wings were the only reason I was able to give this location more than one star.

Found this place after walking around UMD and looking for a local spot to eat. Saw the reviews…read morehere and went with my mother. I will admit I was skeptical when I drove up to park in another hellish mixed use development. It screamed chain and average from the outside, inside...well I was wrong. Nice decor although with a lot of QR codes scaring me (after wrestling for 8 minutes with QR code parking in back) that I might have to order that way too. Again not. We were immediately seated, super friendly server, the menu was super exciting. Authentic Szechuan dishes and some American Chinese, I wanted a lot! Had some great crab/pork soup dumplings, terrific garlic sauce eggplant, and a standout recommended ghost pepper spicy beef dish with celery, snow pea, peppers. Mom got a shrimp lo me-in. A lot of food brought home. Similar with the couple next to us. Hot pots on the menu, whole fish, so much to try. Flavors great, but especially nice service that made a place that felt like a QR card laden chain a lot more like a homey cozy place.

Ordered takeaway- the vegetable spicy hot pot with bean curd sheets, lotus root, woodear mushrooms,…read moreseaweed, bak choy, and green beans, and the beef shank appetizer. Total came out to approximately $42. What's hot - Menu. Pretty good variety! There's something for everyone, even vegans. There's meat, veggies, tofu, seafood, dumplings, noodles (to include noodle soups), and rice dishes. For example, there's a good variety of the different types of tofu, like bean curd sheet, fried tofu, and regular tofu. There's a good variety of veggies, as well, such as bak chow, egg plant, lotus root, woodear mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, etc... - Quality. Very good, with the exception of the spice level, which is addressed below. Both dishes were well-seasoned and not too salty. There are a good amount of spices involved and more than the standard Chinese spices. The beef in the appetizer was tender, thinly sliced, and also came with a good amount of thinly sliced cucumbers and green scallions. All the veggies, with the exception of the green beans (which were a bit on the raw side) in the hot pot dish were tender, as well. For an ethnic Chinese restaurant, my opinion is this place is legit. - Location. Conveniently located in a plaza with other restaurants and shops. It's pretty easy to find, as well. - Layout. Their layout is pretty good, but their tables do not appear to accommodate groups of more than 4-6. They might be able to push together some tables together, though. - Price. Given the portions and quality for ethnic Chinese food, it's reasonable and good value for money. - Service. I arrived a few minutes after I was originally told my order would be ready. My takeaway order was packed and ready when I arrived. The hot pot dish I ordered comes with rice, which was enough for 2 people. The food was also well packed- no leaking and the takeaway containers did not fall apart. Their staff appear to speak both English and Mandarin, as well. What's not - Spice level. For the hot pot dish, I ordered the normal spice level. However, the hot pot dish in combination with the the beef shank appetizer was a bit too much. I could definitely feel my tongue tingling midway through the dishes. I have a pretty good tolerance for spice, so that I could feel my tongue tingling means something. However, that this was the normal spice level for the hot pot and the appetizer dish was too much. My point is to be prepared. - Parking. There is a small parking lot in the complex, but it can be tight. Street parking is dependent on the day and time you go. This neighborhood is a bit dense, so parking is not the easiest to find. Final Answer Would like to return and am less inclined to order anything spicy.
