They charged me 145 for an hour of labor and proceeded to bend one of the metal parts that holds the bushing as well as plasma cut it. I come here all the time for car repairs because the Toyota dealership loves to over charge... The…read moreman that I always work with is Jeff, I believe that he runs the center, he's always kind and very informative about what's going on with your car. He gives you the hard truths and also gives you cheaper alternatives; but he's always honest about how long the cheaper alternatives will last and if they are even worth the hassle. I'm typically there without appointment and that's not a problem for them, I come around 6:30, they open at 7. He takes a look at the problem, tells you if he will need to order parts and how long the job could potentially take. I'm always out by around 1pm even when parts need to be ordered! The secretary woman who is always there is super sweet and usually has snacks, like homemade brownies, in the waiting area. She comes out with updates about your car occasionally if she feels you've been waiting too long. I started coming here because of my mother and she recommended myself and my Nana and we haven't gone anywhere else for years. They are great!

We have used a few auto repair places in the past, but for the last 15 years, we will only go to JD…read moreAuto Repair because they are the only place that: 1. Has friendly and caring owners (John and Costas) who really care about serving their customers. 2. Have fair prices and even under-charge sometimes (like recently when we found mice eating through the wire of one of our cars). They are sensitive to price for their customers, which makes a difference for people like us with some older cars. 3. They will always see us last minute and in an emergency. As a woman, I feel safe working with these men because I know they will treat me with respect and not price gauge me. They also always take the time to explain what is going on with the car, in lay-person language, given that I don't know much about cars. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!

I've recommended this shop to friends and family in the past, and that is exactly why this review…read morehurts to write. A friend of mine dropped her vehicle off for diagnosis. I personally filled out the contact form with her name, phone number, and address. No repair authorization was given. No estimate was approved. The shop never contacted her that day. At the end of the day, she had to call them herself and was told they were closing and would contact her the following morning. The next day, she was informed that approximately $1,740 worth of repairs had already been completed and that she would need to pay the bill to get her vehicle back. Let me be clear: this review is not about whether the repairs were necessary. It is not about the quality of the work. It is about performing major repair work without first obtaining authorization from the customer. When I spoke directly with the owner, his position was essentially that the car needed the work, so they fixed it and the customer should be happy. I strongly disagree. A customer has the right to decide whether to spend $1,740, seek a second opinion, postpone the repair, or make other arrangements. That decision belongs to the customer, not the repair shop. What made the situation worse was the complete unwillingness to work with her afterward. She was forced to borrow money to pay the unexpected bill. Despite the circumstances, no discount was offered, no payment plan was offered, and no accommodation was made. The position was simply: pay the full amount or do not get the vehicle back. I've trusted this shop in the past. I've sent business their way. After this experience, I cannot recommend them to anyone, nor can I trust them with my own vehicle going forward. If you use this shop, make absolutely sure you have a clear understanding, in writing, of what work may be performed and what dollar amount has been authorized before leaving your vehicle.
