I recommend them if you want your vehicle running safely for you and your kids and your family. I recommend them highly

The team at Forest Hills Auto Service went above and beyond to get my windshield fluid reservoir replaced within a few hours. All the dealerships nearby were estimating a week to order the part, but the team here tracked down the part locally & drove to pick it up (on a snowy afternoon!). The price was very reasonable and well worth the excellent service - I'm so grateful to Forest Hills Auto Service! read more

There are good people in this world and this auto shop and Steve are a shining example. On Nov 23, 2022 my car totaled itself! I was driving and all of a sudden airbags deployed, car turned right, jumped a curb and hit a tree. I filed a claim with Subaru about this Crosstrek. They claim there was an impact which caused the auto to deploy air bags, etc etc. I called Steve and explained the situation. Out of the goodness of his heart he went to Quincy to look at the car. There was no sign of an impact except where the car hit the tree. I am still fighting with Subaru. I did know that I had not hit anything, and nothing had hit me. read more

Forest Hill Auto is fairly priced and provides timely service. I called several repair shops in the JP and Rozzie area in need of brake service for my Honda Fit EX 2015. Their quote came in over $100 less than the next lowest, and less than 1/2 of the highest. I'll definitely be back, and will gladly refer others there. read more

Forest Hills Auto Service - Fair pricing for parts and service - Auto Repair Near Me - Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts

This is what I have to say. My BMW X5 4.8i blew its rear differential and axles. I called around for a week. No one wanted to help me. I purchased the differential and axles up in NH. Not one auto shop wanted to put in parts that were not purchased by the auto shop. I was 100% relieved when this auto shop said sure. Bring the car to us. We will take care of you. The only shop close to me open on Saturdays. I dropped the car off on Saturday and the car was fixed and ready to be picked up Tuesday evening. I'm pleased to say, I'll bring my car here for now on. Thank you Forest Hills Auto Service for taking care of me. There were parts in the trunk that were put back on the car. I never requested them to do it. I was pleased to see them put them on. I needed my vehicle back ASAP. I recommend Forest Hills Auto Service. Thank you Ahmad K. read more

So helpful and knowledgable - pointed me in the right direction for a small interior repair, that didn't involve even using them!

Stopped by randomly during lunch time last week and explained my car issue. Not only were the ladies at the front desk welcoming but very straightforward/honest. After a few minutes of getting my info my car was pulled in/inspected/diagnosed and fixed all within an hour or so. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Definitely coming back for more work. read more

I had my vehicle towed to their location because it randomly started then turned off and would never turn back on. After several jumps and a new battery it wasn't starting. When the vehicle was brought to them I was told I'd need a new engine running me a few thousand or the car could be sent to the junk yard if I felt it wasn't worth it. After some thought I knew I'd need a second opinion before truly deciding so I had the vehicle towed to a mechanic in the Dorchester area. 2 days and $260 later my car was up and running. I was informed it was an electrical issue basically. This left a very bad feeling in my heart because had I not gotten a second opinion, I could've possibly dished out thousands or had to go without a vehicle while shopping for a new one. I'm giving 2 stars because they had a great customer service team and I'm hoping they had only good intentions and this was just a misdiagnosis. But please in all things you do, don't hesitate to get a second opinion! read more

These people were trying to gouge me and it's not appreciated. I took it to another place where people were much more honest and helped me with what actually needed to be done to my car. All these people care about is getting money. read more

Don't take advantage of people! I was going to give them a good review because the guy the owner was nice but I got scammed and screwed. I paid for an oil leak I actually don't have. The leak was from something else. Im just mad because it wasn't properly diagnosed the first time. The owner tried but the actual mechanic who had my car on a lift didn't seem to know what on earth he was checking for. I also was told I would need to pay 500 to replace the entire power steering. I got a friend to replace one power steering line for 100 including a tune up! Had a techie look to see what they claimed he says they didn't even change my timing chain and had no need to to. read more

I took my Honda Element to them because I smelled a tiny exhaust leak so I took it there. I was informed someone used a bolt on the manifold and it was snapped. They said they will order the parts and have it repaired. I pickup the vehicle and less than 4 miles, the VSC light came on. I had the car towed back to them and they call me up and said the car was done. When I went to pick up the car. It was running and I noticed all my radio station were gone. I figured them my have to disconnect the battery to do repairs. I got in the car and again, less then 4 miles later, the VSC light came on. Had the car towed back to them again. They called a few days later and said the car was done so I pickup the car and I started to drive the car. I noticed the brake pedal was lower than before. (keep in mind that I have to paid for the repairs every time I brought the car back) Now, I believe someone by the name Steve said he will drive the car to see if the VSC light come on. I said the car had been there awhile and the gas tank if very low. He said he will put gas in it. He claimed he droved the car home and back to work and everything is fine. I picked the car and I noticed the gas gauge was exactly where is was no additional miles were put on the car. Now he said he would have to wait until the owner come back in 2 week so he car get this resolved. When the owner came back, he said he found the problem, it was because the wires the frayed in the harness. I said I just want it fix so I can get the car to my son because he needed the car for medical care 3 times a week. I got the car back and this time, I was able to go 40 miles. After my son got the car, the VSC came on again. He took the car to another shop and the problem was the clutch. My total bill was over $2000 and they had the car for almost 3 months. I wouldn't bring a Tonka truck for them to repair. They lied, they gouge and they cheat! read more

You've got an issue with you're car and you are around this area ? Don't even waste your time looking for any other shop ! THIS is absolutely the best repair spot in town. I've purchased a used 11' Accord coupe over year ago and had them work on every single repair thing that's necessary: brakes (pads also), rotors, calibers pumps, filters, and tires, and all fluids necessary. I consider myself still learning for the most part when it comes to all things cars related, Ahmed (Lead Manager) made me an expert. His vast knowledge/ experience actually helped me become a bit more in tuned with all that is necessary with my car. He is the definition of excellent CUSTOMER SERVICE and going out of your way. THAT'S SUPER HARD TO COME BY, esp because mechanics want to rip you off. He goes above and beyond to help figure what the best options for you budget-wise. All the mechanics there are excellent handy men, who know how to work extremely fast. The front desk staff are wonderful folks. They always try to keep you updated and informed and are incredibly professional and courteous. I would highly recommend their services for anything car related/ repairs. read more

Very courteous and helpful staff. I had several repairs on my car, including AC fix and break pads replacement. They quoted me a price and were willing to negotiate. They also seemed honest and took the time to explain what was wrong with my car. When i asked to see the old and new car part, they gladly obliged. Would recommend them and would go there again in the future if I need further maintenance. Only negative was that they don't always call you back promptly when the car is fixed, so you should take the initiative and check in with them periodically during the day. read more

Their team were fantastic! They took really good care of me and my car! I'll come back!

Love this place . Great service. It's now my go -to place for my car . I like the people there too , nice and accommodating .

from google - same person Definitely the best shop in the area and I've been to several. Bought my 98 civic last year and it had a problem where no mechanic in MA from Boston to Amherst could fix. Took it here and they not only diagnosed the issue instantly but fixed it quickly and cheaper than most quotes Definitely worth taking your car to. They have great hours and staff. Parking can be pretty tough but they will make space if parking is too difficult to find read more

I've been going to Forest Hills Auto for about 10 years for a variety of issues with my car, and they've been great. Polite, kind, reasonable prices, and excellent service. I have a somewhat long history with this business. When I first started going here it was because my family went to this mechanic, we all found him very friendly and fair. So much so that I purchased a vehicle from them. Around the time of my purchase, March 2015 - not sure exactly when - my mechanic who was one a partners of the business left. After driving the car for about 4,000 miles I had to replace both my front and rear break pads and rotors. After about 6,000 I needed to replace all 4 tires. I didn't think much of this as every car needs this typical routine maintenance but I was skeptical about how little miles I got on both sets of brakes and my tires. These repairs totaled over $750. Fast forward to March 2016, 14,000 miles and a year after my purchase. I failed my inspection for 3 reasons, lights, wipers, and my front axil. Yikes. I drove about 25 miles back to this mechanic from my new residence because I figured he was my best option. $500 later my cars finished. Well not quite, I failed my inspection again the next day. He never fixed the wipers or light after personally assuring me both were all set. Here I am $1,300 spent on this car after just 14,000 miles. Needless to say I won't be dealing with this shady business after my reliable mechanic left and sadly me and my family need to find a new one. read more

The best auto shop in the area! They don't try to rip you off and are extremely helpful when it comes to working within your budget.

Went here a few times for oil change and basic service. They claim to inspect your brakes, fluids etc. when performing the oil change. About a month after one of these my bake pads were bare and I had to replace the rotors also. Guess they didn't check... Also had my tires replaced here, cost about 350 bucks for new tires. Well the sold me some cheap brand and about 1.5 years later, and 15,000 miles later, I am down to 4/32" of tread and need new tires. The owner of the place is nice and seems to care about you and your car. But the employees and "quality checks" they perform are not up to standard. Parts are inferior to what you would find at a real shop. read more

Steve and Al - a couple things: 1) why are you guys so helpful and easy to work with? I thought it was a prerequisite to be, well, kind of condescending when doing foreign car repair. I have a Volvo and will pass on going to the dealer in Brighton based on this fact alone. 2) Besides alignments, what can't you do well? You repaired my rack and pinion which, according to BVV, can only be done by a dealer. This wasn't true- you did it - using the exact same parts bought from that other Volvo dealer on the south shore of $500 less and did it in less time. Not only that but you fixed my wife's car and a bunch of other small things (fixed that wierd squeal from my brakes and a strange ticking noise in my drivers seat). 3) could you be less transparent? You showed me your costs both parts and labor - before the repair. You stuck to it and charged me fairly. There were items I know you found that we're easy fixes You fixed them and didn't charge me extra. Thanks Final question: why do you rock so much? read more

Forest Hills is the best! They are so friendly and fast. I got my oil changed without an appointment on a Friday afternoon and they fit me right in. Their price was totally reasonable. Today my 10 year old battery died and needed replaced. They drove down to where I was, jumped my car, and replaced the battery quickly. I don't even think they charged me for the jump and travel time. They are so friendly and seem very honest. I actually feel really good taking my car there. read more

Simply The Best. I got an estimate on some repairs from a chain store and got a Much Better price...Nice... But what floored me was not just hundreds less. They are reasonably priced, competent and LIFE SAVERS. I ran over a pothole which created a bulge in my right tire. Somehow that same day I ran over a nail in my left tire. Long story short my tread depth was close to 2/32 anyway so I needed two tires and fast. They were able to replace them quickly with gently used tires for a very reasonable price. I'm so happy! read more

Happy to say I've found a good mechanic in Boston! They efficiently and expertly replaced my spark plugs and get my car running after it wouldn't start and accomplished it all in less than 24 hours. They didn't try to push lots of other parts changes on me, which is why I'll be back for my next tune up and oil change. read more

The staff at Forest Hills Auto Service followed up after seeing my review to see if my situation had been resolved. CarMax helped me out (in a big way) but I appreciated the follow-up. The Forest Hills Auto mechanics did not report doing an oil change or any work that would necessitate removing the oil plug, so my car's breakdown remains a mystery. I still will probably not return to Forest Hills Auto but am upgrading to 3 stars to be fair to them. read more

Have been to this shop several times and they are always super helpful. They are very reasonably priced and don't make you pay for unnecessary services. And they sure know what they are doing. Very pleased with the services received at Forest Hill Auto Service, on 2 different vehicles. They effectively diagnosed a problem on my Ford Focus that at least 2 other mechanics had failed to find, and promptly fixed it. They also patched up our Toyota Tacoma truck, and quickly resolved a new issue that came up after their initial fix on an old issue. 6 months later, everything is still running smoothly.
