Since I've decided to retire my "Miss Independent" hat over the last several years, I'm usually always in need of getting something done correctly for my home. My pest control guy suggested I get my front door resealed since tiny bugs are still coming through the cracks (I mean, I don't blame them, it's hell out there during the summer months here in Arizona). Found Robert through looking for a decent handyman on Yelp. And boy am I glad I followed through with hiring him. From the initial text to him completing the job. He was nothing short of efficient, friendly, and extremely professional. Just from my experience watching him do the job, I can tell he's also the kind of human that goes above and beyond for his own inner circle if he handles his own clients with this type of top tier treatment. On top of that, Robert gave me a nice discount just for a little knowledge trade. Will definitely hire him again for any of my home's future fix-up needs. read more

I can't believe I waited so long to leave a Yelp review - long overdue! Toolman Taylor has been my go-to handyman since July 2024, and I honestly can't say enough good things about him. He has helped me with a wide range of projects, including plantation shutter repairs, hanging blinds, replacing a bathroom fan, installing ceiling fans, and troubleshooting a garbage disposal issue--plus more along the way. Every single job has been done professionally, efficiently, and with great attention to detail. I've never had anything less than a 5-star experience. He's reliable, knowledgeable, and takes the time to make sure things are done right. On top of that, his pricing is very fair, which is hard to find these days. If you're looking for a dependable handyman you can trust, Toolman Taylor is absolutely the one to call. Highly recommend! read more

Robert performed work on my door at a fair price and to my satisfaction. He even went to Home Depot to get supplies that I did not have on hand. Prior to the appointment time, he texted me to let me know he would be a few minutes late which I appreciated. I will definitely contact him for future projects! read more

Had some minor electrical work to get done. Simple scheduling. Fair and honest quote. This is an easy recommendation.

Robert is communicative, fair, and professional! He came out and not only did the jobs professionally, but he also advised us on certain directions to take. He even saw one or two small jobs around the house that he threw in without charge. I strongly recommend adding him to your contact list -- he's dependable! read more

Don't waste your time. Reviews were decent but after the initial quote, he started acting really odd. He started making up wild stories about scams, and how I contacted him a year ago and he declined my job already...?? Even though you can clearly see my request on April 11, 2023, including pictures, and his reply with his estimate...and me following up to get him to follow through on the quotes he already provided. Robert was very communicative throughout the whole process. He sent photo updates by text of each project (we had quite a list). His work was great, and he was priced fairly and made sure we were totally happy with everything. We will definitely use Robert again! Some examples of the work we had done: installation of a medicine cabinet and closet doors, drywall repair, removing difficult screws from brick. read more

Five Stars isn't nearly enough! Robert came out quickly, assessed the issues correctly and was able to correct the various problems of SIX badly installed doors both interior and exterior that the original contractor did not do right. He rehung our entry way lamp which was also done incorrectly by another contractor And he even helped with hanging some of our artwork. We had him back out to our place to replace a rotting shed door and door frame as well. He was so intent on completing our job on time and correctly that he was working in the rain for a time as he finished with the installation. His attention to detail, genuine desire to do a job right the first time no matter what, his friendly demeanor and professionalism all recommend VERY highly indeed for whatever job you might have. But I will also say that I personally would recommend him to anyone that asked me for a handyman, and plan too. In an environment rife with hack handymen just looking to finish a job and move on it is refreshing indeed to find a true Craftsman! read more

I've used Toolman Taylor for years in multiple homes and I have never been disappointed. Robert is always on time, communicative and fair with his prices. Robert helped with replacing a broken door, frame and jamb for our storage. He was transparent and kept up with communications before the project started and was prompted in getting work done. He performed quality work. His rate was straight forward, and went the extra mile to go to the store to pick up any supplies he needed with no extra charge, he even made multiple trips because a few things came up as the project was being worked that we didn't anticipate. He will even drive you to the store to help you pick out your supplies, or you can tell him his preferences and he'll pick them up and give you a receipt for reimbursement after. I talked to a few different handyman/contractor on Yelp before going with Toolman Taylor, simply because he seem to be more personable instead of just someone sending out generic responses to your questions. Highly recommended and I would use him again for other projects in the future. read more
