I always believe that if you do a good job and earn trust on the small things you will get the call when the big ticket items come around. I was resigned to getting a response in the morning until lo and behold my phone rang with caller ID showing Ideal Air Conditioning. It was 9pm. I couldn't believe it! And it was an actual person on the line when I picked up. I can't remember her name but she was empathetic and helpful. Before I knew it she had scheduled a service person to come in the morning between 8 and noon. What a relief! The service person got to my condo around 9:30 just before I had to head to work so I left my credit card info with her and entrusted my roommate to oversee the repairs. By 11am I got a call at work informing me that the AC was up and running again with the repair costing me just over $1500, which included a $300 service plan that I thought made sense and was a good idea for continued maintenance. The promptness of Ideal's response, their ability to get a service person out to see me almost immediately and how quickly they got the AC up and running has made me a fan for life. We originally had the company come out to repair a clogged condensate drain line. Just seven days later, our A/C stopped working again and we were told that the capacitor had failed. We understand that these can be separate issues, and we weren't necessarily expecting the company to cover the second repair. However, we were disappointed that we were charged another $95 diagnostic fee only seven days after the initial service. We even asked if they would be willing to apply the $95 diagnostic fee toward their annual maintenance plan as a goodwill gesture, but they would not budge. To be fair, the work itself was done properly. However, if you're looking for a company that is willing to work with you on pricing or show some flexibility when you have a second issue shortly after a repair, this may not be the company for you. Our experience was essentially, "the issues are separate, so there's another charge," with no willingness to meet us halfway. The repair was good, but the customer-service experience and lack of flexibility left us disappointed.
