Both short term and long term, once future healthcare costs are factored in. Walla Walla is lucky to have a place like this. Reliably tasty, healthy food served by kind people. Tonight, it was the corned beef hash with two poached eggs and a Belgian waffle: the hash was more green pepper than meat or potatoes, the "poached" eggs were white hockey pucks with completely solid yolks and the Belgian waffle was a fluffy waffle-shaped pancake, no crispness on the outside at all. The waitstaff are fantastic and extremely nice. The setting is ... dated, but serviceable. The place is still better than the truly awful Denny's in town. I really hate ripping the place because the folks are so nice. I guess I'll sum it up this way: I've never had a truly bad meal at Clarette's, but I've never had a truly good meal there, either.
