I've been coming here for many years. Before today, my previous visit was about 2 months ago. I was surprised to learn today that the business has new ownership. After today's visit, I'm a bit relieved since the pizza seems very familiar. The quality appears to be very similar so I'm convinced that they took the time or are taking the time to make sure that the ownership transition goes well. Everything inside still looks the same. The old pictures that we all love are still up on the walls.

Trying a new pizza spot for us! This spot has been here for 45 years

I've passed by this pizza spot for over 2 years and not once did I dawn to check it out until my son said "pizza" and pointed and I said "sure, why not!" It didn't disappoint! Pizza by the slice was a big plus for my son and I. We had a good selection to choose from. There small salads are a great size. The reheat of the slices is quick and perfect temp, super tasty! Next time I visit I'm going to try a sandwich. Service was amazing, super welcoming and friendly. Even after we sat they asked if we wanted water, cheese or anything else, which made me feel welcome and the whole staff was really patient with my son who can be wild, so I definitely appreciate that! I did see a lot of to go orders within the 20 minutes I was there which tells me my son picked a great spot! Also we were in luck to be heading out while a massive group of teens from San Marino High were coming in looking hungry. Overall I will come back, maybe make it a monthly lunch date with my son, since he loves pizza and has no issues to Tony's right before we go to speech!

i've been eating Tony's Pizza for more than 30 years. The new owners have tweaked the recipe too bad

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. The new owners have tweaked the recipe for the cheese pizza. So, sad.

Came here as was in area and wanted to give this spot a go given I've driven by so many times. Per reviews a local spot with lots of locals who rave about NY style pizza. ( you had me at Ny style and I am in). Place was as expected an old mom and pop style pizzeria with friendly staff. Ordered a couple of slices and a ceggie pie with a variety of veggies. Also ordered the garlic knots. Pizza came out hot and was pretty much an NY style pizza. Would say it was pretty good but would have liked a but more sauce. Knots were great and a rather large offering. Overall, good local spot if you're in the area. One gripe - would love to have a beer to go with my pie, but can understand that its a spot that mostly pick up as to why they wouldnt.

I've been coming to Tony's Pizza for as long as I can remember. Growing up, nothing beat the student special with a slushie--those are core childhood memories for me. I always thought the same Sicilian family would run Tony's forever, passing it down through the generations. So when I found out there were new owners, I'll admit I was nervous. But to my relief, it's still Tony's pizza! The taste, the atmosphere, the comfort--it all brought me back. That being said, I have to mention one small (but big to me) detail: the onions. My go-to has always been sausage and onion, and Tony's was special because of how they cut them--thin, long, stringy slices that caramelized perfectly in the oven. The new cut is different--chopped longer, thinner pieces--which just doesn't hit the same. It might sound silly, but for me, that little detail made their pizza stand out from anywhere else. One friendly suggestion for the new owners: please don't swap out the original ingredients for other brands. The magic of Tony's is in the flavor that's been consistent for decades. Don't change that! All in all, I'm so glad Tony's is still here and still delicious. Change is part of life, but the heart of Tony's pizza lives on.

You can order half and half also

Ordered take out today. Bring me back to my years in high school. Tony's pizza always makes quality pizza. Their pasta and sandwiches are also exceptional. Their staff are super friendly and always provide the best service. Whether you eat in the restaurant or have it as take out, you enjoy the family-oriented pizza that has been passed down from generation to generation.

The bread arrived and it was soft with butter pieces. Next our Soda arrived in Xlg cups with salad. I was almost full then my chicken Parmesan arrived. It's very saucy and cheesy with bites of chicken Parmesan. Also the spaghetti was cooked just right. The waitress checked in our table several times even though she has quite of customers.

We were greeted by the host and waited about 2-3 minutes to be seated. There were around 4 or 5 tables that were already seated and/or eating. Setting: typical western restaurant with booths and tables. Quite dark inside. We were sat at a booth but the seats had a bunch of residual bread crumbs on them. We had to ask a waiter/busboy to clean off the seats for us. Food: This restaurant is known for their pizza so we ordered their signature pizza to share. We also ordered the fried zucchini appetizer and the spaghetti bolognese which came with a side (Minestrone soup) There was complimentary bread and butter for the table - it was soft and fluffy on the inside and had a nice crust. But it came out cold. Would have been better if it was warmed up. Fried zucchini: well breaded, came with ranch. Portion size was ok, not too big but not too little either. But quite expensive at $11 for an appetizer that did not WOW the table. Minestrone Soup: average, quite salty, given it is early in the evening, the soup should not be this salty whereas the end of the day usually means the soup has been reduced and concentrated by warming/simmering. Spaghetti Bolognese: plenty of meat in the sauce and pretty tasty as well; but the biggest flaw was that the spaghetti was way overcooked. Huge negative for an Italian restaurant - the base/pasta of your dishes should be perfect and this was far from Al dente. Petrillo Signature Pizza: loaded with toppings, they did not cheap out with the toppings and pretty tasty as well; however, another big flaw was that the dough was dry and dense - the dough did not rise. The yeast in the dough was either non-existent or was not given enough time to rise and create the fluffy dough and crust texture of a typical pizza. We basically got dense flatbread. As this was the signature pizza, it was quite disappointing. Service: Average, nothing great. The servers came by a couple times only after the food came out. Could have really stopped by a couple more time to check in. Rating: 2 stars Review summary is based on mainly food quality as the quality of the food, attention to detail, and execution all was very subpar. Given the kitchen was not super busy on a Saturday evening, the poor quality leaves much to desire.

I had heard many good things about this joint and I finally tried it for myself. To be honest,…read morethis is just an average pizza for me - it sorta reminds me of something you would find at a fair. There's only one size available so that's a problem if it's just you. As you can see, the pizza is huge! Yes, you can buy slices but it makes more financial sense to buy a whole pizza. Next, this is not a "cheesy" pizza. So, if you like all that gooey cheese on your pizza, you're going to be disappointed here. The cheese is so minimal you may ask yourself if there's in fact any cheese on the pizza. The cheesy bread, however, will satisfy your desire for gooey cheese. Highly recommend you pick up a side of the bread. It reheats up nicely too. As pictured, there's inside and outside dining areas. I went when it just opened so there were only a few people dining. Parking here will not be easy. I was told that if you pass the residences, there is ample parking on a vacant lot. This is not the safest neighborhood so if you're a female and you're by yourself, you may not want to park that far and make that walk (especially at night). There is a Dollar Tree across the street with a lot, however, that establishment also tends to draw sketchy characters. So, if easy parking is one of you're requirements, you may want to pass on this place. All in all, this place was more hype and it left me craving that satisfying cheesiness that should be on a pizza. I definitely won't have this place on rotation when I get that pizza craving. No hate, I just love my pizza cheesy. ‍
