Tony's chose to provide poor service. Humans make mistakes but we are able to correct those mistakes. I ordered two pies of pizza but the driver lost the tickets with the address and phone number and did not deliver the pies in a timely manner . After waiting over an hour for the food, I called to find out where the status of our order, I was meeting with unprofessionalism. I asked that order be remade instead they reheated the pies and sent them back out. Tony's chose the easy route, not the correct route. Do better Tony's. You have my number. read more

Be very careful when ordering from their website. Although it says "Tony's Pizza & Cafe", they claim it's a 3rd party website. I ordered three items, paid a delivery fee and left a tip through the website. Once the food came, the receipt didn't show the tip so my very generous husband also tipped in cash. I don't care that he received a total of $10.63 in tip. My issue is that the website is misleading and when I called the restaurant the owner couldn't care less. He is a poor business man. The chicken marsala was so tough you couldn't cut it with a fork. My husband loved the eggplant. There's a new pizzeria that opened up the block. Love the owners and you never get a bad meal. I have been ordering from Tonys for years but I think last night will be my last. I called to order a medium pizza. the man who answered the phone said we have a special on Monday, a large for less than a medium. I old him it was Tuesday and then he said the special was Monday through Wednesday. I said ok and we received an obviously frozen pizza. There was no crust like a hand tossed pie has and it was very light. we couldn't even fold the slice without it breaking like a cracker. Chicken fingers were hard and dried out. Lunch specials are gone from the menu like wtf and prices went up. Broccoli isn't always green which is interesting bc I think it's frozen. But seriously if the main course includes broccoli, it should be green and not have brown spots on it. Lasagna is okay. Pizzas good. Used to order once to twice a month here but not any more. Hate when you have to change pizzerias after many years - over 10. Having to find a new go-to is annoying. Here's something that bothers me a lot. When I read the Yelp reviews, it seems the owner or whomever is answering the Yelp reviews isn't very nice to people and puts them down when they complain and I think that's poor customer service. Saw this spot riding through the area and thought I'd give it a shot. Order: margherita pan pizza with pepperoni, sausage, garlic and peppers and an order of Buffalo wings. The wings were good. Would have preferred a little crispier (which I'm sure they can do upon request) bur still good. The pizza is definitely worth the price. Crispy crust, good amount of sauce and toppings. I have been ordering from Tony's Pizza Café on 1085 Broadway, City of Rahway for the last 8 years usually the same Lunch special that's from 11am till 4pm. I usually order Penne Vodka with grilled chicken. Today unfortunately I had the most horrific telephone call with one of the owners. I was charged $33.28 when it's usually $10 with some change the lunch special. I ask for it to be left on front porch as my 16 yr old teen is not allowed to open the door to strangers it's rule we enforce. First a young lady answered and politely apologize as she stated there is always a new girl working there and knows who I am. I requested a refund back on my card for the overcharge. The owner got on the phone and said I called after 4pm when I called at 2:58pm then he said it was a simple mistake the new girl made but wouldn't refund me back as things happen and according to them I was given a regular meal not the special. I explained that I am in need of my refund as he knows I always order from there and it wasn't my responsibity the young girl wasn't proberly trained. He started yelling that no refund would be given back and it was a mistake and I was lying about the time I called. He said what was I going to do call the president and complain mocking me. He says no driver ever wants to come to my house as I never tip which is untrue there are times I can't but most always due. He said I was a cheap and properly trash. He knows me personally. I remained shocked with my mouth opened without words as I expected a simple refund back on my card. He said he will never deliver to my address and could fuc* off laughing. Just sharing my personal experience from this place as I never expected this quality of service from him. This really has shocked me that a business owner whom I know can speak to me with such demeanor and laughing at me. Not sure how I haven't reviewed this place yet! This is my go to spot for pizza! They have the best pizza around, the marina is just sweet enough and they are always generous with the toppings. The dough is not too thick, it's thin without being too thin to be classified thin crust. Their pizza is always cooked to perfection and I've never had a wrong order or burnt order which is surprising given the amount of times I've ordered from them over the years. Staff is always pleasant here, accurate wait times for pick up, delivery is prompt, I really have nothing to complain about here! You can order through GrubHub as well, which I often find myself doing. No extra delivery fee and so easy to see wait times without calling. We pretty much just order pizza here but an occasional chicken parmesan sandwich for lunch always hits the spot. A large split by two people for lunch is perfect here. Same great marinara as the pizza. There isn't much seating inside, it's mostly a spot to grab take out or order delivery, but I have stopped by to do pizza by the slice here. They have a pick up special during the week,I believe it's Tuesday and Wednesday (call them to verify), for two pies for about $20. Great deal during the week when you just need some Tony's pizza! If you haven't ordered pizza here yet, do it. You'll probably never order elsewhere. My family and I have been going to Tony's since I was kid , The pizza has always been good and consistent throughout the years never had a problem ! I just recently moved back to Rahway after living in NYC for the past 8yrs! On Monday I decided to order a pizza and the nightmare began !!! First , I used the app Slice and I got a notification 3 minutes after ordering and it was letting me my food was on its way ! How is this possible , it has only been 5 min ?? When the pizza was delivered , I ate the first slice and immediately I got a really strong smell/taste of freezer burn from the pizza and the crust was super hard !!! I called Tony's and told them and they said they would pick up the pizza and replace it with a fresh pizza ! This time , the pizza was delivered in about 30min , so I thought for sure I would be getting a fresh pixza straight from the oven, wrong !!!!!! The second pizza had an even stronger taste and smell of frezzzer burn and it was disgusting ! This time I contacted the Slice app customer service to contact Tony's !!! When I got the return call , customer service said they spoke to the owner and that the owner refused to refund me anything for the disgusting pizza !!! What's even more crazy is the pizza box has the word FRESH on the cover !!!! I am serious do not order from Tony's it was the worst pizza I have ever had in my life !!!! read more

For Mother's Day, I ordered dinner for 5 people from Tony's and it was delicious! The servings were large enough to feed 10 people, and everyone enjoyed the meal. For the entrees, we had Veal and Chicken Marsala, Chicken Francese, and Chicken Sorrentino. Everything was cooked perfectly, and they included extra sauce like I requested. I also ordered Sauteed Spinach and a House Salad to have vegetables, which was great because the entrees also came with a house salad. Lastly, I ordered the Garlic Knots and found out quickly why they are a restaurant favorite! We really enjoyed the meal, and look forward to eating there again soon! read more

My husband and I live in Rahway and were searching for pizza on Friday night. Given the recent positive review of Tony's Pizza Cafe we decided to give it a shot. We ordered the veggie pan pizza online and was told that it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. When we got to the cafe the place was packed with people picking up pizzas and a few dining in (I think the majority of their business is pickup or delivery). Definitely a good sign that the place was busy! We specified online that we wanted the pizza slightly more cooked so we had a wait a few extra minutes, but no big deal the pizza was perfectly cooked to our liking and the staff were super nice. Now to the pizza, which was absolutely amazing. The crust was very crisp and buttery, almost tasting like a beer crust and the sauce had great flavor and herbs. The veggie toppings (spinach, eggplant, mushrooms, broccoli) were super fresh and flavorful. Everything combined this made a perfect combination. Typically veggie pizzas are soggy since the veggies release water as they cook, but not Tony's. This pizza crust could hold its toppings and you could easily eat the pizza with one hand. I've been to popular NYC Italian restaurants and others all over New Jersey. Tony's is the best italian restaurant I've been to. Whenever I have friends or family visit, they better expect to be introduced to Tony's. Amazing sauces and pastas, perfect deep dish pizza, they're all I ever want to order from now. Food from this place is SO GOOD but the service is not. They are helpful enough when problems arise but usually half the time, there is something missing from my delivery order. Once ordered a pizza with spinach and alfredo and they didnt send it initially and had to send the guy back (which he did with a good attitude) but once it came, it was supposed to have chicken but did not (still tasted really great though). Just seems like maybe they need to either have more people on staff if it's being busy that is the problem or just make sure staff is actually paying attention when they set up the orders. I haven't been inside but just from the service when getting delivery, it doesn't seem like the place would be too put together. Pizza is always good.
