I would go here regularly, the place is a little dated could use a revamp but I love to support small and local businesses. There pizza is good and I do enjoy there speciality pizza. Last time I went there I asked for meat slice and girl gave me a slice with a side of pineapple must not have been cut evenly. I let it go. God forbid I was allergic to pineapple. Fast forward to today there is a fat smelly white guy who is there time to time. Not very friendly or welcoming. Checks me out and then proceeds to talk about his bartending job and something about how no black people where there.... This place is horrible. It was okay years ago but has significantly gone down hill. Their pizza is soggy, their sandwiches are terrible and their sauces are watery. The customer service is also horrendous. I placed a to go order a while back and they forgot an item and when I called to let them know about it after hanging up on me the first time I called, when I called back they said their was nothing the could do about it, seriously??? So sad as you would think with their food being so crappy they would at least try to please their customers. Plum Tomato right up the street has much better food and good service. Moved to Rahway 15 yrs ago and this place was our pizza spot. Moved out 3 yrs ago and we still order from them. I will admit we do order from other pizzerias when we are in the mood for pan pizza. They definitely came through during this blackout we just had. They were the only restaurant we found that had power so we decided to stop in. Oof was not a fan of Brooklyn Pizza. Such a shame because it's in a great central location. Pizza: my crust was really thick, hard and burnt. It tasted almost stale and overcooked, like it had been sitting in a warming rack for hours. The sauce was runny and the cheese was clumpy. Nothing good about it unfortunately, I threw out my second slice. I had the same experience twice so haven't been back. Service: honestly wasn't a fan of the service either. The staff was young and they seemed so unhappy to be there. Complaining about work, about friends, talking to friends who were watching a sports game but not eating and not working. Ordered a large cheese pizza half pepperoni. Was delivered fairly quickly. Delivery guy super nice. The pizza on the other hand was pretty awful. Super soggy and oily. Way to much cheese that shifted all over the place. It made it hard for me to find where the slices were. Ordered half pie with pepperoni. The slices that haf pepperoni only had 2 slices on them. I was told it was $4.25! I said excuse me? $4.25 again. No thanks I said. We have a great pizza place in my town, Little Mia's II, that does a Sunday $11 Sicilian pie special. 12 slice pie for 11 bucks. Let me repeat that, 12 slice pie for 11 bucks. ROACHES!! The pizza slice counter had a ROACH. I came in just wanting a slice but the young man at the register (very polite and patient) told me they had a selection of pies and when I went to check I saw a ROACH walking along the crust of a pie. I was so disgusted. Unfortunately, I doubt I hid my surprise very well and the man at the register must've saw it but when I said never mind I claimed it was because I didn't have cash. Now I know very well what roaches look like, having experienced an infestation. And if theres one thing I know, its that theres no such thing as "only one roach". I went to brooklyn pizza on a Thursday after work and class looking for the perfect pizza. I ordered an entire plain pie with extra sauce, and extra crispy. Also, a side of wings. The pizza was excellent and exactly the way I wanted it except for the fact that they did not put extra sauce on it. I was a little disappointed. Then the wings had weird holes and looked burnt. Brooklyn Pizza claims to have Brooklyn style pizza even though the chain is based in Florida and is now in New Jersey. That right there should have given me pause, but I'm a lover of pizza, and when this place opened recently I could not resist giving it a try. I have to say this, this is certainly one of the nicest *looking* pizza joints I've encountered in NJ so far. The exterior has a nice, wide and welcoming storefront. The interior has several tables with a warm dark decor. There are a couple tables/chairs by the two main windows and there is a row of chairs at a bar overlooking the pizza prep area. Overall, it's a really nice layout and that is what I give this place really high marks for. The service was friendly and quick. My girlfriend and I ordered a 10" pie with half mushrooms and half eggplant. The pie was made to order and came out bubbling and steaming. Being a boy who grew up in Brooklyn, I've seen this scene a million times, and I know there's supposed to be a certain amount of scent wafting at you at this point - and there wasn't. Uh oh. Our pie was sliced up and put before us and we began to eat. The dough's consistency was good. Crisp on the outside, a bit chewy in the middle but the crust was not too thin or thick, just the right size. The thing is, the flavors just weren't there. The sauce was practically tasteless and the cheese was just...well, dull. I was dismayed that the most tasty thing on the slice were the toppings. Later, I asked my girlfriend if she felt the same way, and she agreed, saying the sauce needed some more tang and sweetness and that the four cheese blend we buy from Trader Joe's was better than the cheese used on this pie. I think since they're brand new, I'm going to give these folks another try down the road, maybe when they've gotten to perfect their game a bit. For now, I honestly know of about two other pizza places (one IN Rahway not too far away) that make much tastier pies that I'll be frequenting instead. read more

Pizza, convenience, decor, and staff are all solid at Brooklyn pizza. I'm a fan of a traditional NY style pie with crust that's a bit chewy inside, crisp at the edges, and built with sauce, cheese and toppings. Every time I walk out, that's exactly what I have. The bf and I grabbed some ready made slices and cheese fries the other night for a quick hang out night dinner. All the slices were HUGE! Not sure if it was just a one time thing or how they do it, but 4 slices (1 sausage, 1 chicken, and 2 Sicilian) left us with plenty left over. 4 huge slices + cheese fries = $15 and change. They're generous with toppings, and everything tasted good to me. Service was friendly. Seating options are 4 booths, 4 high top tables, and 4 "regular" tables. The exposed brick interior gives a cool urban, old Brooklyn, Italian rustica (maybe that's pushing it a little) feel which is inviting. read more

My girlfriend and I have become complete pizza snobs since my brief time living in Hoboken. For us, it's Neapolitan style pizza or bust. While this place wasn't quite up to Grimaldi's gold standard, the margherita pizza was very good in its own right. Certainly the best pizza we've had in the Cranford-Westfield area. The service was very good and we were brought complimentary bruschetta and garlic knots to go with our chopped italian salad, which was also very good. All in all, a very good experience.
