Previously had great take-out experiences with this place. And I went there to dine-in today with my boyfriend - who had never been there before and was anxious to try it based on how good I said the burgers and shakes were. BUT we experienced the worst customer service on the planet. When ordering from the kiosk, I specifically asked the attendant if there was anything different in the ordering process to dine-in and we were told 'no.' BTW they were "out of milkshakes after a busy weekend" - which I thought was weird for a burger and milkshake place...and several other selections like various cheeses and meats were missing from menu too - perhaps another sign of poor management? Anyway, my boyfriend pressed the "cash" button (versus "card") to pay and as what we thought was the order receipt spewed from the printer, the attendant walked away without taking our payment. We stood there for a moment, waiting to pay but when the attendant just walked away without saying anything about taking our money then and did not return to the counter for close to 10 minutes, we assumed that meant we were supposed to sit down and pay when we got the food. I had also previously witnessed dine-in customers paying in this manner. So we took what appeared to be our order receipt and we sat there for more than 30 minutes waiting for our food. Finally when we inquired about where our order was, the attendant very rudely and loudly announced "well you didn't pay" as an explanation as to where it was. I noted that we would have been happy to pay when we placed the order but that SHE had walked away and didn't return to the counter for some time. If they were so worried about payment, they could have said something about it while we sat there in full view of them (the attendant and several other college age people who appeared to work there and were the only other people in the restaurant) for over a half an hour with our $20 bill on our table with what appeared to be our order receipt. Mind you, there were no other customers in the restaurant. When we found out they hadn't even made or begun to cook our food, we said forget it and left. But the whole vibe the entire time was like WE had done something wrong by ordering food and sitting and waiting for it - a process that is customary in many restaurants. It never occurred to one of these customer service wizards the entire time we were sitting there to maybe check with us and see whether some sort of error had occurred in the ordering process? Or to offer a "sorry" when it was determined there had been a misunderstanding? Did they think we just stopped in to sit there and play their tiddlywinks game that sat on the table to kill some time? Wow!! Seven college students couldn't figure out that maybe there was a problem with this order and that's why these middle-aged people happen to be just sitting in their restaurant? The worst part is how they tried to make us feel like idiots about the entire thing. They all stared us through the windows as we drove away - again, trying to make us feel bad over their error. They were so rude, so self righteous, so un-sorry that we will never go here again. Very bad management. Perhaps the reason adults - not college children - should run restaurants. read more
