This place was awesome, we stopped in for lunch, and they're a great little tavern. The bar food was delicious, and their crab cake sandwich was SO good! Our service was great and I'm sure it gets packed on the weekends!

When we walked in the ambiance of the restaurant was very cool. It felt like an old tavern. It was very slow that day so we were seated right away. Our waitress was super nice and helpful. I wish I could remember her name. We shared the cheesesteak egg rolls and they were delicious. The cheese sauce was great. For our meal we shared the shrimp tacos and short rib grilled cheese. The tacos were very flavorful. I have to say I'm not a person who eats a grilled cheese sandwich very often because I think they're boring. This sandwich was not that way. It was excellent. From the short rib, the sauce and the bread the entire sandwich was great. I had a beer which came out nice and cold and very good. The food came out quick and hot.

My coworkers and I decided to visit Fred and Ethel's for happy hour after work one Wednesday evening. I had only ever been to Fred and Ethel's on the weekend when there's an insanely long wait, so to walk in and get seated immediately was a pleasant surprise. Our group of 4 started with drinks and appetizers, buffalo wings and the buffalo chicken wontons. My rum punch was a little on the strong side, but I know some people love it like this so I'm not complaining. I prefer my mixed drinks to taste like juice so that's my own fault. The buffalo chicken wontons were AHHHH-mazing. I'm still thinking about how perfectly crispy they were with just the right amount of spice. For entrees, I did the bacon cheeseburger tacos and the fries with gravy and beer cheese because I love disco fries and these seemed similar. The bacon cheeseburger tacos came with three stuffed tacos that were huge. I could have shared and would have if someone else wanted to share with me. The beer cheese on the fries was good and even though the cheese and gravy made the fries soggy it was nothing a little fork usage couldn't handle. Other members of my party got chicken tenders and fries and fish and chips, but the menu has sooo many unique offerings you need to visit with foodies who like to share and are willing to try a bunch of different items. I was pleasantly surprised and I definitely will visit again. Our server was super friendly and attentive too.

Came here for first time for lunch. Friendly and nice staff. Food came out quickly and atmosphere was very pleasant. Definitely try the grilled cheese short rib sandwich. Great for kids and larger groups. Definitely great place for lunch when in Smithville.

This restaurant is so great, the ability to put your name on the wait list and then go walk the village is perfect. They just get in and support the local area. The atmosphere was cozy but very smithville like. The service from the person checking us in for our table to the young lady who served us where perfect. So friendly and caring and just fully engaged. My crab cake was very good and a great portion. My daughter had chicken finger and fries and loved them. My only challenges are the bartender with the Eagles hat was just rude because she had to make 4 specialty drinks when we waited at the bar for a walk around drink. My other challenge is allow people to split the check, living in Ohio now they just allow it. What a way for others to come out and not have to work at the check and splitting it.

Service awesome, atmosphere great, so much fun people watching outside. Food was ok. The NE clam chowder was delicious and loaded with clams. The chicken fingers and Italiano sandwich were just ok. Guess I was hoping for more from the reviews. Extra points for the great service and outside seats.

Located in the heart of Historic Smithville, Fred and Ethel's Lantern Light is a decent option for a sit down meal. The interiors have a more rustic and wooded look, with super cute Tiffany glass lamps hanging overhead. The menu consists of typical American fare, and doesn't get overly creative or offer many vegetarian options. We weren't overly hungry and wound up ordering the F & E chicken sandwich and the chicken fingers. While neither dish was overly impressive with regards to recipe/quality, they did the job of filling you up and leaving satisfied. The chicken fingers were very run of the mill and bland tasting, but the chicken sandwich was presented well and of decent quality. The fries and mashed potatoes were similarly average. The service was pretty friendly, but slow at times, especially when it came to paying the check. Overall, not a bad dining experience at all and very convenient when visiting Historic Smithville, but I'd rather explore other options in the area if we returned.

This is the central joke of the The Wine Bar and Italian Kitchen, which sits like a well dressed guest who has wandered into the wrong party and decided to stay anyway. It lives inside The Food Hall at The Borgata, elevated just enough to suggest importance, but not quite enough to escape the gravitational pull of the surrounding chaos. The ambiance is odd. Not necessarily bad mind you, just...existential. You sip wine while someone nearby debates chicken tenders. It keeps you humble. And yet, the food. The food is very good. Complimentary bread arrived with olive oils and olives, which felt like a small act of kindness in a noisy universe. My wife and I began with a meatball appetizer special, a wise decision that rewarded us immediately. Six petite, tender and rich meatballs, the kind that makes you briefly forgive the invention of fast casual dining. I had the lasagna, layered and comforting, like a well organized memory. She had the chicken parmigiana, which achieved that rare balance of crisp and tender, as if someone in the kitchen still actually cared about cause and effect. Both dishes were executed with confidence, the kind that suggests this kitchen knows exactly what it is doing, even if the room around it is having an identity crisis. The wine was not bad. Not transcendent, not life altering, but entirely capable of doing its job, which is to make you slightly more agreeable to everything. Service was also very good. Attentive without hovering, present without becoming a character in the story. Four stars, because the food and service deserve applause, but the setting feels like dining inside a thought that has not quite been finished. Still, if you find yourself at The Borgata and hungry for an Italian meal that rises above its surroundings, this is a very good place to sit, eat, and wonder how you got there.

But it can get crowded. They offered bread with olive oil and olives. We ordered a sangria which was very sweet. They filled our water glasses but didn't check on it for the rest of the night. We ordered lamb chop and ossobuco. The lamb chop was seared perfectly and medium rare. The potatoes were well seasoned and crispy. I liked the broccoli rabe too. The ossobuco was tender and the bone marrow was buttery. The risotto was ok but I didn't like the texture. The sangria was sweet. Overall the food was good.

White Horse is located about an hour from Philadelphia. The property is beautiful, the staff laid back & friendly. We sampled two flights, three tastes in each. Some selections didn't send me (like Albarino and Merlot.). I loved the Cab Franc, but my family did not. (Good thing, since it's $42.50 a bottle.). In the mood for rose, we purchased a bottle of the reserve and enjoyed it with a charcuterie board. White Horse Winery is dog friendly, imperative since I have a little furry house guest this week. Saturday afternoon we were entertained by singer/guitarist Zac Run. (Zac makes his rounds at restaurants, local wineries and distilleries. He's quite good!) By mid-afternoon the winery was hopping with a birthday gathering and what looked like two bachelorette parties. There's plenty of seating on the porch, inside and on the grounds. I look forward to a return visit.

It was a nice late spring afternoon when we went so we opted for outside under their covered patio area. Our server was so knowledgeable, fun, and really made the experience that much better! He allowed us to unwind and enjoy the space and gave us lots of interesting information about the winery and its history. Including how they names their bottles which was a neat detail to take home to share (as we got a few bottles for souvenirs). We opted for tastings of their sangria (so cool they have a few options of these) and a flight of their other wines which were all great but our favorites were their summer sangria (with peach) and their sparkling white wine. We also got a few bites to eat as well. The food paired well with our wines and we left full, happy, and with wines to take home for all!
