red booths and tables in a restaurant
    Dave D.

Let's see ... we are the fourth table with humans in a sea of empty tables. You bring us menus and water but then leave us to twiddle our thumbs, so we consider the overpriced bottles of wine ($45/bottle so we Googled each and one was less than $12.), listen to the music amidst the ambient noise while wondering where all the people sit when the parking lot is crowded. Actually we wonder why that many people would actually choose to eat here. Oh ... we found the restrooms on our own because going to visit those little rooms became a priority after this extremely long wait to just order our food ... well you know sometimes you just have to go. And, still no waiter ... we can feel the chill from outdoors since the entranceway is not blocked off nor the restaurant apparently heated properly (I actually like cold versus hot so if I am chilled you know something is very very wrong.) as we watch other wait staff walk back and forth past us. In fact, almost all of the diners in this section of the pub have kept their coats on ... one woman in a "bubble wrap" winter coat fully zipped still seemed cold. All I know is the food better be good because this review is hanging around a 1 right now. Oh another table seated (Still more empty tables than those with humans.) and they actually have a waiter even after we asked a busser where our waiter was (He said "someone will be right with you." haha ). Drum roll ... we have been waited on food review to follow... Guess what ... the food didn't change the review. The service did not improve. We will NEVER go back and we will always wonder who is in the cars that always seem to fill the parking lot. Perhaps it is the bar but then again the wine is overpriced ...

Food was not made right. My burger was undercooked . The order for my wife was wrong and the truck driver talking lady seated behind us was shouting f bombs for all to hear. Very dive bar experience. Price was ok

Pitney, poppers, long way over the last five years, such a wide variety of diverse foods. Italian, Spanish, Indian, steak, seafood... You can't go wrong with stopping in. Staff is great, friendly and helpful! Great music plays on the jukebox and the bar atmosphere is fun! Happy hour wings @$6 were delish!

So I have been ordering from this place for quite some time. I can say I am happy with anything that I order because their food is great. I think one time we got a pizza undercooked but they were happy to correct it. Just ate here, the taco salad is so good! Puts Taco El Tio to shame as they do not even know what a taco salad is. I would like to ask kindly that people not smoke pot or cigarettes by the door as you're walking in. Yea, ok pot is legal now but please still have respect for one another, these are my lungs, not yours. Thank you!

So being from this area I've never really went into the Pitney pub. I've always drove by but never actually stopped in but I'm so glad I did. Due to Covid there are extra precaution when it comes to eating out. This place has a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. So glad they have outdoor seating with Covid going on. For a warmer November day, it was nice and spaced out. We came on an early Saturday so it was empty. We got seated right away. Soooo! They have bucket drinks! Who doesn't love a good bucket drinks. It was fantastic. I ordered the crap cake and my friend ordered the bacon wrapped scallops. Also we Split the fried calamari. All the food was good and it was very fast service. This is definitely a place I would love to try out again.

The worst experience I've had in a long time. I ordered 2 items online for 1:30pm. I got there at 1:40pm and it was not ready. Over the course of 10 mins they asked me 3 separate times what I ordered. They obviously started making the food after the 3rd time but STILL GOT IT WRONG! I was given a rushed calzone which was unfilled and doughy. The Pitney Pot Pie (brisket) I ordered and told them about 3 times came out as some pasta dish with chunks of chicken in a garlic cream sauce and a side of steamed rice! WHICH IS NOT EVEN ON THEIR MENU! WTH? It is obvious the kitchen was paying no attention to the online orders. Pitney Pub owes me a full refund but I am quite sure they have no intention of forking it over. I will edit my review if they do the right thing. And why is the marinara served in a Dickies Barbeque Cup? You can't make this stuff up!

So glad that we did because it was excellent with great staff. We all really enjoyed the food. I loved my crab cake sandwich. It was so moist and flavorful. My husband loved his turkey platter. The gravy was delicious and the turkey was moist. My father in law enjoyed his burger. It was a good menu and tight in the middle of the cute little town. Would love to go back and try other things.

Served quickly and hot in a big, wide bowl. It looked good. Had small, irregularly sized potatoes and chopped carrots. The broth was a little thicker than I imagined or had tasted before in other restaurants, or in the one I make. Clams were tiny and, as you'd expect from a can. Not fresh clams. In fact, you can put all the clams found in chowder in a single tablespoon. Even found a whole bay leaf in it, which should have been removed before serving it. So, how is the chowder? I've had better from canned chowder, and the one I make is way better. Zero stars for the chowder. Next up is the Turkey platter with sliced turkey (hard and dry), 1 ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes (ok, nothing special), 1 ice cream scoop of stuffing (totally disgusting, and had corn in it), string beans (with vine still attached), gravy (terrible), and a little cup of cranberries (decent). Total fail. The waitress was ok, though stopping by every 5 minutes to ask if everything was good was quite annoying. The 'ice water gentleman' was great. You never asked for water, and when the glass was 1/2 empty, he was there refilling it. Great job! The final score of 2 stars is for the historic inn's ambiance and layout. We won't be back, and do not recommend.

Everybody else had the same idea as we did (it was PACKED for Labor Day Weekend!) but we still managed to grab a high top in the sun as most of the patrons were at the outdoor bar near the band or at the indoor bar. To no fault of their own, it was a little difficult to put in food/drink orders but the bartenders and servers were working incredibly hard and non-stop. We had an array of different drinks including Rum Runners, Tequila Sunrises, Rum & Cokes, and draft beers (pretty good craft options on tap if I must say - we had Dogfish Head 60 min IPA and Dogfish Head Grateful Dead). My mom and fiancé really liked their Rum Runners and I loved my Tequila Sunrise. We eventually put food in as well, just a bunch of appetizers to split which we love to do. We had Garlic Parm Tails (sauce was good!), Nachos, and Drunken Clams. The Middlenecks were cooked well and served in a white wine butter sauce. The food is pretty much what you'd expect from a dive-esque bar. Even with the hour long drive we had both ways, the location being right on the water and the vibes offer plenty of reason to keep coming back.
