My Harley was thirsty, and so was I. temps above 100 had left me parched. Tonopah was my gas stop, so after taking care of that it was my turn. I had found Tonopah Brewing while searching for good food reviews, and found myself parking the bike a few minutes later. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of booth and table seats inside, a dozen or so patrons already there, I found a stool at the lengthy bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Two dozen brewtaps were visible on the wall, covering an array of tastes. The staff was great, friendly, quick with a smile, and made excellent suggestions on what frosty beverage might help rehydrate me. Tried a 5 beer sampler flight before settling on a fantastic red ale called Mucker Red. Looked over the menu and placed a food order, and got chummy with the red while I waited. The food arrived and I tossed it down my gullet along with another Mucker......a great combination. Even though I still had to make Las Vegas by midnight, I grabbed a six pack of Muckers for the road and stashed it on the bike. It was rather warm by the time I pulled into my drive, but a days worth of cooling off in the fridge and it was right back to awesome. Nasty. Three of us ordered our food and then sat down. Within 15 minutes they brought out one person's meal. 45 minutes later myself and the other person got our meals. My order was wrong and cold. Loaded tots were gooy and nasty. Couldn't even finish my food. Avoid. read more

We were staying at the Mizpah and the desk clerk suggested Tonapah brewing company. A total failure! There was one couple at a booth, a few maybe 4 or 6 people bellied up to the bar. We waited and waited after seating ourselves. We saw no workers. I went to the bar.,, besides a few stares, no help. As we left, hungry, I did see an employee she had been bellied up to the bar hanging onto ( I assume) her boyfriend and she managed to take some food the the other booth before she went back to her bar stool. read more

It's pretty much the best place in town. IYKYK. The beer was great. We got the red lager. The food was ok. We got the wings which looked overcooked but they actually tasted better than they looked. We also got the combo pizza which was ok. Good but not the greatest pizza I've ever had. Also got the loaded tots which were good. We were there during their happy hour so everything was cheaper. It's been awhile since we've passed through here and we were really looking forward to bbq and beer. They no longer offer BBQ and the burgers were so well cooked they were chewy. The guacamole on the burger we ordered was brown and looked old and tasted funky. We also ordered a side salad on one of the burgers and it was wilted. Really hoping it would work out looking forward to a beer and good pizza. Walked in and sat there in a booth....(not from here btw so just going with the vibe) waiting a few minutes and it's not busy at all there few people at the bar and us at a booth. Lady and the guy working say nothing at all to us. Then some older guy walks in and the girl says "welcome in menus over there" with the hugest smile and kinda looks at us really odd. Like okkkay thanks for acknowledgment and very rude attitude towards our direction just trying to enjoy this small town and have a good pizza and talk but nooo very very rude I don't appreciate bad attitude. We detoured our trip to spend a night in Tonopah for the purpose of getting Burnt ends and a beer at Tonopah Brewing. Imagine our surprise when there were no smokers!! But...they have amazing burgers!! I had the Baja Burger and hubby had the Brewmaster burger + bacon. I had the Mucker Red Ale and he had the Ninja vs Kong Hazy IPA. Burgers were HUGE & Juicy. Fries were plentiful crispy and yummy. Onions rings were huge crunchy and perfect. (Think I tasted a hint of cornmeal in the batter). I have no idea why this place has so many low reviews.. everything we had here was SO SO good. Cheese curds, quesadilla, onion rings, and the CHICKEN SANDWICH!! We visited this great brewery when we stayed the night in Tonopah. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was very nice to sit outside even though it was the middle of August.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We always stay across the street at the Best Western so this is a convenient stop for us. Their beers are delicious and they have a nice variety. They even offer some of the canned and ready for takeaway. The cheese curds were to die for as well as their burger; it was huge! read more

Cold craft beer and delicious bar food. We were just driving through and needed an escape from the brutal summer heat. The AC was on full blast, music was playing, and we were warmly greeted as we stepped inside. This business is a tribute to those who came to Tonopah in search of fortune many years ago. Cheers to everyone who found themselves here. I'm not a beer girl at all but I can get down with some of the light and fruity ones. The Mango Tango is a light lager and was very refreshing. The Cherry 51 a Belgian with brewed cherries was tart and slightly sweet. I'd order both of these again. We split the Muckers French Dip sandwich and it was very filling. Stopped in on the way to Death Valley after driving 5+ hours, hoping for some BBQ (Yelp listed it as such) and a cold beer. Walked in and stood until an employee told us the menus were "over there" and sit wherever . I ordered 2 waters and a green beer, it never came and I didn't know if I had to go up to the counter to get it. A friend, co-worker or acquaintance came in of the employee and they went into the back, leaving us wondering in our booth. Well, we got up and left. Never got my green beer or if they had bbq food. We were on a trip passing through the area and found a lot of reviews for this restaurant but was sadly disappointed when we decided to stop in. The menu didn't have anything that was in the yelp photos! Not sure what is up but my advice is don't bank n eating anything that you may see in the photos. The menu was basically an appetizer menu. This was a quick meal grab because I had somewhere to be and I wasn't expecting much with the menu changes and my last experiences here. The bartender was delightful as usual. The staff has usually been wonderful each time I have been here. To drink I had the Pick Axe Porter. I was excited to see that it was back as it is my favorite. To eat, ordered mainly off of the Happy Hour Menu. I had the Cheese Quesadilla, the Chips and Queso, and the Fried Cheese Curds (regular menu). The cheese quesadilla was perfectly toasted and filled with lots of melted cheese. The chips and queso was good but not what I expected. The chips were crispy and lightly salted. I was expecting white queso (or white cheese dip as some say) not the orange sauce with a bite that the chips came with. It was good, but not what I expected which was a let down. The fried cheese curds were good and seasoned well. Tonopah Brewing is still not high up on my list, but this visit definitely placed it back on my radar and I will be coming back again soon. read more

I swore I wrote a review for Tonopah Brewing way back in 2017, but it appears not! First, the beer. The selection has greatly expanded since then. They have a new brewer who has greatly increased the choices available. I can't list them all, but trust me, there is something for everyone's taste. I'll have to forgive him for running out of Moe's though. Note: The brewery is owned by the Clines of the Cline Winery, and there are some nice wine choices from their winery for those who don't do the beer. The food. The menu as of about two weeks ago has changed. Turkey is no longer an option anymore, so goodbye Pickaxe sandwich! They did add a French dip sandwich which is rather tasty. Other things changed as well, but the choices are still great. Sauce choice are down to two as well. The Kicker is my personal spicy favorite. The staff. Tammy, Sonia and Alyssa (hope I spelled them right!) are the three key people we interacted with while working here. All are excellent, and do they ever hustle to bring great service to the mix. The place can get quite busy, but they do quite well at getting to everyone. The place. They offer outside seating when warm enough and have plenty of space inside. A counter serves maybe 10-15 people. The noise is average but depends on how busy. TV screens show sports to watch while dining. Conveniently located across the street from the Beat Western, about 10-15 minute walk from the Tonopah Station, and maybe 5 minute walk from the Mizpah, Jim Butler, or the Belvada. Tonopah brewing is the place to be! We have had their beers at various events but had not made it down to check out until now. This unassuming roadside stop is chockfull of character and good vibes. Weather you're here for the food, the beer or just a place to take a break from driving, they will take good care of you. Their selection of shandy's made with their soda made in house was to die for. My husband had the Marcy's Playground and it was stellar! My Cherry 51 beer was also super good with a cherry pie flavor. Our friends had the Caramel Macchiato spiked coffee and it was an alcoholic coffee milkshake, nothing wrong with that! We tried their fish sandwich special which was amazing, absolutely recommend, and the Area 51 pizza. I am a sucker for a buffalo chicken pizza and this one was so wonderful and flavorful. This place is wonderful! The pizza and tater tots are so good. You order at the front and they bring it to your table. There is outdoor seating so you can bring your dog if the weather of kind. If you're looking for a quick drink I recommend the Marcy's playground. The food here is lacking quite a bit. I've recieved stale pretzel bites and cheese sauce with a thick crusty skin on top of it. There's usually only one person at the bar who takes food and drink orders for the entire restaurant so unfortunately the service can be slow at times. read more
