First off, I have to say that the service here was some of the best. We were greeted as soon as we…read morewalked in, sat within 10-15 minutes, and both the server and the owner chatted with us about the menu as it was our first time there! The restaurant is on the smaller side but they have it organized to fit quite a few people. The area is clean as well. The soup was so beautiful I almost didn't want to eat it! I've never had cold soup before but I definitely will be trying the other options throughout the summer. It was so refreshing!

Food 4/5 Service 4/5…read moreAmbiance 5/5 It was our 2nd time eating at Zaru and it wasn't anything memorable, which was what we thought the first time as well. We got their mocktail of the day, Nikutama Udon, and Spicy Miso Tantan Udon. The Nikutama broth was rather bland and the sliced beef was too chewy for my liking. I added the toppings on the side but still found it underwhelming overall. The Spicy Miso had much better flavor. They best thing was their mocktail, it was refreshing for a hot day! Service was mediocre, it was Saturday lunchtime so it took a little to get acknowledged/order and there was some waiting for the boxes/check too. Ambiance is superb/clean and the decor is modern. it's not the biggest restaurant but utilized the space with bench seating against the wall. I feel there are better options in the Mills50 area, but it's worth trying if you haven't since its a Michelin bib restaurant.

Saigon Noodle & Grill is a great contemporary Vietnamese spot in the heart of the Milk District…read more The staff was super friendly and helpful--our server gave amazing recommendations, and we ended up trying a little bit of everything. We started with the crispy chicken dumplings--crispy on the outside with a juicy, tender chicken filling. Perfect way to kick things off. We continued with three items: Beef Stew (Bún Bò Kho), Orange Chicken, and Sautéed Cubed Beef "Shaking Beef" (Cơm Bò Lúc Lắc). The Beef Stew (Bún Bò Kho) was heaven on a dish. The beef stew was easily the standout--rich, flavorful, and the beef was so tender it practically melted in your mouth. The vermicelli noodles were just as impressive. Just reminiscing about it makes my mouth water. The "Shaking Beef" was served over white rice (highly recommend), and every bite was better than the last. The garlic butter sauce really takes it over the top. Don't be fooled by the Orange Chicken--Boneless chicken, fried perfectly and coated in their authentic sweet orange sauce. The best Orange Chicken in town, hands down. No chance of leftovers here--you won't want to put your fork down.

Then within the next 30 mins it filled up to about 70%. Food was really good. We opted for pho. A Pho Ga and Beef Pho with rare beef and meatballs. When I am back in the area I'll try again. One negative is the "one waiter" who seems like he's been there too long. If he knows you......if not.... Enjoy...

I stopped by Susuru for a solo dinner and grabbed a seat at the bar. The restaurant was fairly…read morebusy, but I was seated in under 15 minutes. Service was great throughout my visit, and the staff were attentive. The Susuru Gohan was fantastic and definitely my favorite dish of the night. It comes with a soy-cured organic raw egg yolk, sweet aged soy, onion, Japanese seasoning, and steamed rice. I added both uni and ikura, and everything paired really well together. I would absolutely order this again! Their drinks and cocktail menu is very extensive and I chose the Ultraman drink, which was great. It's made with Haku vodka, lime juice, cinnamon chai syrup, grenadine, cran-apple, and ginger beer, topped with a dehydrated apple and normally a limited mini Ultraman toy. They were out of the toy when I went, so they offered a $2 discount, which I didn't mind at all. For yakitori, I tried the Hiza Nankotsu (knee cartilage). Their skewers are prepared in-house and grilled over Japanese binchōtan charcoal, then finished with aged tare and served with Susuru citrus salt. The knee cartilage was good and had a nice crunchy texture. I also tried the Mi-So-Hot ramen which comes with pork chashu, a shoyu soft-boiled egg, corn, scallions, chili hair, and spicy miso broth. It was just okay for me. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with it, but nothing really stood out either. With so many other options on the menu, I probably wouldn't order it again. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Susuru! The attentive service made solo dining at the bar comfortable, and the Susuru Gohan was easily the highlight of my meal. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Food was mid and absolutely not worth the wait. I came on a Saturday night at 8pm and was told…read morethere would be an hour wait. I fell asleep waiting in my car after an hour goes by and went inside to check because I saw empty tables from the outside and had heard from the hostess. I told her that I had been waiting for over an hour and she said that there was about 4 parties in front of me. I went back outside to wait for less than 5 min and she called me in saying the table had cancelled so my table is now available. That was already a red flag - she totally forgot about me!!! After being seated, the waiter took literally 15min to even come acknowledge us because he was too busy talking to his friends at the next table. Tonkotsu black ramen - 3/5 (not flavorful) Miso-hot ramen - 3/5 (bland and not creamy) Tan tan men ramen - 3/5 (the flavors were there but the noodles were super soggy) Tempura king oyster mushroom - 2/5 (bland, thick and hard to chew. they should've cut it into thinner pieces) Karaage - 3/5 (flavorful but chucks were too big and had too much batter) Inner thighs yakitori - 5/5
