She then said taxes and fees can change at airports. It made no sense. Olivia was a bit testy but pleasant, but kept saying "like I said... things can change." But that isn't right. I feel lied to and scammed. At least the car didn't smell like weed like it has the last three times I rented from this place. I looked over at Alamo and there was one person in line. I promptly booked my car via Priceline, and it was about $18 more than Budget. I was in and and out the Alamo line in 10 mins. I looked over at the Budget/ Avis lines , they were still working with the same 2 people when while I was in the Budget line. The Columbus Airport has a consolidated rental car facility . You take the rental car facility bus from the terminal, and it takes you to the rental cars housed in a offsite garage (about a mile away from the airport.) You can select any available model they have on the hand based on the category of vehicle you rented. The signage on rental return was easy to spot. Employees at this location are very friendly. Drop off is VERY quick and easy.

Luckily another minivan had just come in. The vehicle we were given looked like it had just been returned from a family vacation, the middle seats were stowed away and there were crumbs EVERYWHERE. We didn't make a fuss, just swept off the crumbs, placed a cover on the back row for the dog, and we were on our way. Fast forward to our vehicle return 5 days later & we were told to either take the car to Moo-Moo for full vacuuming or pay $450 for cleaning the "pet hair". Goldendoodles don't shed. AND the only surface the dog was on was covered. So we either had to do the job they didn't do before renting us the vehicle OR pay $450. It's extortion and we will never rent from this company again.

Just make sure to return the rental to the rental location near the airport. It is not at the airport and you'll have to use a shuttle.

The only number I have is for someone who claimed to have been the owner that just rings and rings there is no emergency number and every number I have for them ring to a phone with no voicemail I had the car for less than 6 hours and only drove it a total of 1 hr cumulatively. Do not rent from this company Thier cars are dirty and beat up. From what I have experienced thus far they do not care about the customer or take any pride in the vehicles they rent. Update: Have been trying to contact them non stop every free minute since the car broke down with no response calling every number my wife and I could find. But recently I have been charged for fuel, even though I've returned the car with the gauge reading "Full". For my Thanksgiving trip I had the car for three days, drove 140 miles, and filled the tank up before I dropped it off. The assistant checked my car in when I returned and said nothing about charging me for fuel - indeed the gauge was slightly over the full line, so I had no reason to think I was going to be charged for fuel, given that I was returning the tank full. When I got home, I saw Hertz charged me $6.99 for fuel. I got no response from Hertz when I brought this to its attention. AmEx, however, immediately credited my account for the full amount of the charge ($6.99). Granted, it's not a major issue, but it is a breach of trust between me and Hertz. It's just a guess on my part, but I'm guessing the vehicle's computer-based data-gathering includes data regarding fuel use and calculates a fuel charge based on that calculation - regardless of what the fuel gauge shows. I know I topped off the tank at the gas station, and I know the tank appeared to be more than full when I returned it. This nickel-and-dime charge practice, and its deceptive effect, will inevitably lead to loss of trust in this rental company.

Don't rent from here. This is a franchise and not the core Hertz. They will do whatever they want…read moreand charge you obscenely for it. You've been warned.
