Went to the Youngsville location to purchase a hose reel. I asked for assistance and was told that they didn't have any, so I left. The next day I returned for something else and was surprised to find, that they did have hose reels. They were on the patio side, unboxed and covered in dust and dirt. I purchased one. I took it home and set it up. You had to manually crank the hose while guiding it by hand. Too much work for a $55 item. I attempted to return it within the stated return policy time frame and was refused because I didn't have the original packaging and that it was dirty, therefore it was used. I told that it had no packaging when I bought it and that it was filthy. I went to the patio area and picked up another one to show them the condition of the item when I bought it. Great local Ace Hardware - ran in to grab a few things and they had everything that we needed. Two very helpful young men and the cashier was very friendly as well. Prices are very reasonable and we had a coupon, worked out great. Store is spotless and well-stocked. We will definitely return to this location for any tool or household needs! read more

Today, I was present at this location at approximately 11:00 AM. Four younger employees were standing idle, engaging in profane language. This behavior is highly unprofessional and reflects poorly on the organization. Because of them, I left without making the purchase that I initially planned on making. read more

I was looking for the Kamado Joe porcelain charcoal grill/coooker/smoker and it was advertised on sale at Ace Hardware. I went to 3 Ace Hardware stores before I arrived here, and the other Ace's had the Big Green Egg on display. When I got to talking to the young man who was trying to sell me the Kamado, I asked the difference between that and the BGE, and he said "About $200" - smart alec! But not in a bad way. He was serious, the two went together the exact same way, using almost the exact same hardware. So I asked how many Kamado Joe's they had, and his response was honest "They're only allowing us to carry one as long as it's on sale". This explained why the other 3 Ace's didn't have any Kamado's left. As it turns out, the only grills they had in stock were on display for all the models I was inquiring about. I don't like being lied to about something being on sale when it's not . I tried to buy a product at this store and use the 5 dollar coupon that I received in the mail . They told me I couldn't use the coupon because the product was on sale . No one in the store could show me the sale sign . I went as far as calling their other store in Louisburg and that store confirmed that the product was not on sale but the price was the regular price . I believe in supporting my local businesses even when I can buy products cheaper elsewhere. I have shopped this store for many years but no more The manager did not car that he was loosing a dedicated customer . Tractor supply should get ready to start seeing me on a regular basis . Beware of the lawnmower section. They will fall all over themselves to help sell you a lawnmower. However, if you come back for anything else, be prepared to be ignored. Need a replacement belt for your mower? Don't expect them to lift a finger to find it for you. Me: I need a 140"x1/2" belt for my mower. Them: we don't look up the belts by size. Me: Okay. It's for a Toro Z5000. Them: We don't look them up by that number either. Question: If someone brings in a mower with a broken belt, then how the hell do you figure out which one it uses? Surely they have a way to cross-reference that information. But that would take some effort. This isn't the first time I have had this type of experience there. It's just the latest. They are perfectly willing to let a customer, who is ready to spend money, walk away without lifting a finger to help. The front of the store is fine and everyone there is always helpful. Used to be my go to for paint. I am a benjamin moore fan. There was always two same guys in the paint section that were fabulous. One explained exactly how to refinish my cabinets and had great product recommendations. Now the place is run by highschool students. They mixed my paint wrong 3 times and tried to tell me it was OK to use exterior paint inside my house because he switched the colors. Seems like they got rid of the longtime employees to hire cheap labor. Now I drive to Raleigh for my paint. I will never shop here again. read more

This Ace is poorly run. Employees have no knowledge of products. Last 3 times we shopped there and asked their advice, we had to return the items. Kids running the store need a lot more training. For what they charge you, they need to step it up! Also every time we bring in a coupon they always here some lame excuse why it can't be used. read more

Thank goodness after spending several thousand dollars here I finally made the decision to not ever go in this store again. I don't care how convenient it is. I bought my blower,weed-eater, chainsaw and riding mower down the road from there and here is why: They are the rudest individuals working in that store I have ever seen in all my days! No one in particular here just whoever you ASK to help you comes at you with an attitude that pushes you to the edge every time. I leave the place so mad I can't stand it! Completely unprofessional. Their cashier Cait took Fiancé information off a store return form without his permission and contacted him because she was "dared to" by other employees. Now we don't feel comfortable going back to shop there. Hopefully something will be done about that because I'm sure he's not the first person this has happened to. read more

I go here whenever I can. Its convenient to the house and has a pretty decent selection. Staff are nice enough. I always get greeted by the cashier as I come in. Someone from the sales floor always asks if I need help finding anything. They also have a small amount of ammo for sale there. read more
