OHH MYYY GOSH!! I could not believe the lack of customer service! Do not ask me if you can help me, then just point to an isle I was not the only one disappointed and disgusted. People could not get help to find items, people working in lumber were clueless, people cutting their own wood (scary)..... It was just horrible. I had quite a few things on my list but only got half. Other customers were complaining, walking in circles and just venting at the rude people that were visible. Just sad!! read more

After having good luck with your store in the past, got a Home Depot card, and bought the first of several appliances for our new home, I was "Home Depot for life". I experienced a minor issue with an online order due to poor packaging from HD, but FedEx also obviously wasn't careful with it, so I decided to give Online ordering another chance. On 7/21/2025 at about 0700, I ordered $451 of merchandise online. I read the confirmation around 1100 same day and noticed somehow my old address (2500 miles away) was listed as delivery address. I think, no problem, call customer service and change address. I was surprised to be told by your "customer service" center (clearly outside US) that he couldn't change the address. Told him I could verify who I am. Nope, he said my only option was to cancel the order. It was my intention to reorder from HD immediately, but $450 is a lot for a retired officer and disabled veteran. So I told him cancel the order, and I'll put off my projects until my funds were returned in 2 weeks. Around 1400, I was notified my order had been cancelled. However a check showed only $150 of it. I called "customer service" again. The person was obviously reading from a card, and it took several attempts to get him to understand the issue as English wasn't his primary language. He told me if orders have shipped they couldn't be refunded and I'd have to return them myself. I again pointed out the order, if not cancelled, would be 2500 miles away in a state I no longer reside. His response "I guess hope for the best". Really? I checked your website again and saw neither had been shipped, showed a tracking number, and their status showed "processing". Surely the remaining $260 would be returned (or in the process of) by the next morning. NOPE I awake to find they had shipped (according to FedEx 4 hours and 9 hours after the 2nd phone call with "customer service"). I call "customer service" again to find out why, what happened, and how I was supposed to get my product I paid for OR money returned. Your "associate" suggested I commit fraud by telling my bank I didn't order it or receive it. After explaining that to him, I asked if I could speak to a supervisor and preferably someone in the US. He repeatedly denied my requests to speak to a supervisor AND without saying anything put me on hold/mute for 14 minutes. Several times it was unmuted and I could hear them talking about me in Spanish. I attempted to find somewhere, anywhere, on your website where I could call/email an actual HD supervisor (that I repeatedly requested). Funny, you don't make it easy to find. I wonder why no more. However, Google provided "hdcares@homedepot.com" that other unhappy customers said they finally spoke to someone other that the Spanish call center. I emailed my issue and received a semi prompt response that I would be contacted within 24 hours about the issue. As I type this, it's 31 hours since with ZERO help and I'm out $261. I get non stop emails about sales at HD, but nothing from an issue I've been dealing with for over 2 days. Like I said before, my wife and I have a HD credit we've bought thousands of dollars of HD merchandise with. We've also recently bought a fridge/washer/dryer for our new home from HD with absolutely intent to buy 2 more fridges and a range at the end of the month. However, that money will be used to pay off HD card so I don't have to ever put up with this poor of service again. As I am retired, I have plenty of time at my VFW meetings and retired officer association conferences to let my fellow veterans and officers know how Home Depot REALLY cares and recommend where I'll be shopping, Lowe's or local hardware/appliance stores who will return my email or call when there's an issue. At least they have sense enough to not keep $260 and lose 10s of thousands of dollars running off a loyal customer. Imagine if you only had that call center in the US where you could support American jobs too. You truly got over on me this time. read more

I love Home Depot and never really have any issues at any of the locations I've visited around the US. Once you've been to a Home Depot, you've been to them all. However, I feel like the Garden Section here is bigger and has more options. Coming from CT, we obviously get different plants, so it was kinda cool to see different plants in NC and what grows for this region of the states. (It's the little things, okay? Let me nerd out over plants). I'm definitely excited to come back and get plants for my garden once we unpack and settle into our new home. As for the rest of Home Depot, everything was the same and well stocked. The employees are nice and helpful. AND a bonus!! Yesterday my sister-in-law went to store 6220 to pick up 2 gallons of paint that she had ordered. She was given the paint she went and put it in her car drove home when she got home and opened her back door, one of the gallons of paint had tilted over and the lid had come off, and the paint was all over in her backseat so what is the store do they say oh here's a can of upholstery cleaner and will give you a $75 store credit what kind of crap is that? I know that I called the store and complained to that show called manager which is like always 10 of them and he told me that that's all I can do and I said well, then you're not the real manager because the real manager can authorize anything and so here they are making my wife who's a military veteran of a seal That put his life on the line and made his wife stay at home while he was over in Afghanistan in a rock and these jerk off wanna give her a freaking kind of upholstery cleaner that's bullshit so I would not go to the store. I have filed a complaint with the area manager and of course I haven't heard back from that one yet so my next one is I'm gonna call the newscast News reporters down there and let them know what the store manager has done. My review is specific to the paint department. I visited on a Saturday around 11am, a busy time. I already chose my color and type of paint, just needed to place the order. There was a nice young lady behind the counter that acknowledged me and let me know I had one ahead of me. I believe it was just a five minute wait and she got to my order. I noticed at least three more approach as I was waiting and she kept her cool despite some demanding Wake Forest DIY folks. It takes skill to set the appropriate expectation in a way that still reflects a helpful attitude. She was the only one behind the counter, but I didn't think "oh great this is gonna take forever." Good job. Overall I do like this location. I feel like it's a good mix of actual hardware, tools and such and decor items. read more

I have had horrible luck with the military discount portion of their app. It requires me to stop and sign in which is difficult when in the middle of shopping. At the garden cash register often the sun makes the phone difficult to see (or scan) and the system requires two step verification which is close to impossible for me to handle while juggling items etc. When I asked at customer service for help once the girl was able to show me how to use the touch screen at the register where a "military discount" option showed and I was able to enter my phone # and it worked. However later that day I went to the other self check-out and that didn't have the "military discount" option on the screen. So frustrating! When I asked if I could get the discount by showing my retired ID they said they couldn't do it. Now I just go to Lowes. Terrible. read more

My mother has not had a working refrigerator since October. She paid $4k for it plus a 5 year warranty. The only thing that works on it is the clock. We've been getting lie after lie from their customer service. Sent technicians from A&E who couldn't fix it, took the parts, closed the ticket and left. This is theft, elder abuse and inhumane. I ordered a new washing machine as mine broke. I had bought my other appliances at Home Depot so I was familiar with the process. The ordering process was easy. I was given a delivery date a week later, the day before I was given a four hour window for delivery. But the delivery never came and no communication that they were not coming. The telephone number given was automated and kept telling me it was delayed. Still working on getting my refund as customer service doesn't know where the truck is at and the driver was not answering the phone. Home Depot failed to deliver the product purchased and lost this sale and any future business. read more

On the upside, the app was my biggest help, taking me to the right aisle for what I needed. And there were some helpful in-store people. However. When it came in time to tying down two very large flat objects on top of my car, I can't imagine why they sent me an inexperienced kid instead of one of the many fine, older gentlemen and they had in there. Surely, somebody knows better how to get this job done. I was very kind and polite to the young man, as he was toward me. However, he tied these items loosely, and so loosely, they did not even stay in place side to side. And yes, he tied them only side to side. So, I undid some of what he did. Not wanting to make a big thing of it, I secured the front and back a little bit. But I am really surprised no one trained him how to do this job properly. I ended up having to pull off the road with cars losing past me. I had only been driving 30 miles an hour with flashers on when it all came undone and I had to hold it down with my left hand. So, I undid all of it, thought it through, and did a fine job securing them only front and back, making use of the sunroof not only to secure them but also to tuck the front behind the front of the sunroof frame. This kept them from rising as I drove. I was able to drive 50, although I kept it down to 40 for the most part with the flashers on. Really, this was entirely unacceptable. I don't blame the kids so much as I blame management for not training him and I blame the person who selected him to help me with this. So yes, extremely disappointed with Home Depot in Wake Forest today. read more

RUDE STUCK UP EMPLOYEE - I'm not going to call out the whole store about the employees cause I'm sure there are some really great people. But unfortunately if there is one bad egg it effects the entire stores reputation. I walked in cause I had seen some glass and wood table tops online. I found a lady who was re organizing the tile section. I asked her once where I could find the glass table tops and she ignored me. I than asked her louder thinking she might not be able to hear well. She heard me, probably a little too well cause she looked up at me in a squatting position and looked me up/down and proceeded to sigh. She than rolled her eyes as she stood up from her squatting position to snap back and let me know we don't have glass table tops. With an snarky tone and a "I know everything attitude" she continued to talk about how she knows everything in this store and that she didn't know what I was talking about. Than when I explained to her in more detail what I needed she said. "Yeah we never keep those in stock" those are in the garden section If we have them. She than went back to the squatting position and proceeded to re shuffle the tiles. I told her I found it online and it said in stock, while she was squatting she told me if I saw it online and there is stock than it would tell me the aisle number and bin on the website. Catching her hint to go away, I did. I wanted so badly to let her know personally that the service she provided was in adequate. I will not say her name because I think she is having a bad day and I don't want to make it worse. But I will never come back to this location because of her. Excellent customer service! My husband needed some kind of electrical part and couldn't find it so we asked a lady that worked there. I believed she worked in the office in the back but we flagged her down when she came out as we were tired of searching and searching. Well we all couldn't find the part so we said our thanks and continued shopping for other things we needed. While we were doing that, we didn't know that lady was still looking for something that may work for us. She was searching for us in the store and finally found us. Well it was a part that still wouldn't work for us but her determination to continue to help us was astonishing and we were pleasantly suet you the incredible customer service. We were absolutely blown away and for us, we didn't care anymore that they didn't have the part, we were happy that excellent customer service still exists in this world. read more

I am surprised I am writing about Home Depot. It I have to say they were extremely helpful. I went in to purchase 4 cabinets for my garage to store some household items and to clean up my garage. The associate told me to order on line and they would deliver free. (Yes, it's true). Easy peasy. We the. Went on vacation and when we returned my husband had the unfortunate chore of putting them together. First one was torture as the directions were terrible but he got through it. Second one was broken in the corner which we didn't notice or thought it would actually be damaged. I called the 1-800!number and they said they would come and pick it up or we can exchange at the local store. Great, went there and they switched it out. Third one went good and the fourth one had a missing part. Went back and the women couldn't have been nicer and gave him whatever he needed. I appreciate Home Depot staff in supporting the online purchase and helping us get it done. They look great. read more

We were mislead by an employee about the return policy and told they were new so they told us wrong and Wendy got extremely rude with us when we tried to return the item. Thankfully manager Chris took care of the situation and gave us a store credit due to us being lied to by the previous employee. He is a good manager but this store needs better employees. Upon receiving a letter from my HOA that my shutters were too faded and needed to be replaced, I started checking around, pricing shutters and taking measurements with me. As it turns out the only place that had the exact color and dimensions was Home Depot - aka "The Orange Borg" and I was immediately assimilated. Being that I've had a few years experience installing this kind of shutter, I opted to not let their contractor install them for me. I'd be doing it myself. I was in a time crunch though, so I needed the shutters within a certain window (no pun intended) of time to avoid being fined $100/day by my HOA for non compliance with their directive. They said they could do it so I placed the order. It took about 10 days for the shutter order to be drop shipped at my home. The following weekend, I had new shutters up on my house. If you want to find the one mistake in the installation (because I had inexperienced help on the ground with the install), you'll have to drive up to my house and play a game of "Where's Waldo" Now I know where the homebuilder bought their shutters from... go figure. read more

The store employees were knowledgeable and helpful in selecting appliances. The appliance delivery service is very broken. The delivery team said their truck broke down on the day of delivery, they scheduled for the next day without asking me if available, and then the next earliest delivery day is one week later. On second delivery they missed the 4 hour window. No phone call and when I called to check the automated phone response, it said they were delayed and will call thirty minutes in advance and hung up on me. Delivery exception communication and execution in delivery is a poor experience. Still waiting for delivery. read more

I ordered a microwave on line on May 16 because the store in Wake Forest NC, did not have an inventory that met my need. The microwave was received on June 27 that is about 45 days later. The product was defective and I tried to return it to the store in wake forest and the store refused to accept it because it was an online order. Home Depot stores is completely disowning anything done on line and keep telling you this is not their problem. I called the online phone # and got stuck in an IVR phone system that have huge number of option and finally after many tries and disconnects by the online people I manage to get to the large Appliance department who also stated that this is not their problem and I need to deal with Samsung for this microwave that is now called large Appliance. I was transferred to Samsung, who also was not customer friendly and offered me a 100 dollar discount on the defective microwave in order for me to keep it! what am I going to do with a defective microwave. They agreed to get somebody / company to pick it up on July 8. I was told the moment the delivery pick it up and scan it, I will get the refund that day. July 11 the microwave was picked up and know it is August 9 and still did not get the refund. I have been on the phone now for 2 1/2 hours and still waiting for somebody to help. The Home depot CSR is still on hold with Samsung. I am not sure when I going to get the refund. The bottom line nobody should by an appliance from hope depot unless they are willing to spend significant number of hours solving their problem. By the way, if you get on home depot website their is no department to call for customer complaints or to be able to contact a chief customer officer. He works in the lumber area and apparently doesn't think women should be there. He was white, short, short barely there white hair, with what sounded like a NJ accent and his mask kept falling down and he couldn't have cared less. Bought Niles Park 5pc Firepit Set and just a smidgen past 90 days later took it back because it was rusting already, and cushions had faded about 35-40% already. After trying my best with their corporate office then back to the store mgr, I was left with the only offer being to return it for a $900 store credit, which on the face is reasonable, only they don't have another patio set in which I'm interested, I don't want to buy one sight-unseen online, I can't imagine how long it will take me to use up $900 there, and since this set is such poor quality, what I really need is my $900 back to go buy a better set somewhere else. When you spend nearly $1000 on a dishwasher and professional installation at a nationally recognized store, "Home Depot," you expect the "white glove" treatment-meaning they should take care delivery and installation of the product. Additionally, if there are any issues that arise during this process, they should promptly take care of it. Unfortunately, that is not the case. My experience in dealing with Home Depot and is services has been horrible. The installation crew hired to install the dishwasher were NOT professional installers. Specifically, the crew that came to my home was neither bonded or insured to performed the task. The crew was suppose to remove an old dishwasher and replace it with a new one. Removing and installing a new dishwasher should be a fairly simple task for any plumber or a handyman. However, the crew hired by Home Depot and sent to my home said because they didn't have the correct hose length they couldn't perform the installation. In fact, the crew explained that their company wouldn't allow them to install the dishwasher. However, I believe the real issue was they didn't have an electrical license nor the necessary plumbing hoses that would've accommodated any type of installation.   I purchased the dishwasher and installation service through Home Depot online. When the installation debacle occurred, I called Home Depot, but was passed on to several different departments before getting to someone who could help to schedule another installation service. Yet again, Home Depot hired the same company to come back  my home a week later. Needless to say, the crew gave me the same excuse of why installation couldn't happen. Yet again, I contacted the Home Depot. After spending nearly an hour on the phone with the Call Center. Finally, a local professional plumbing company was hired for the installation. However, once the company arrived to my home it was determined the new dishwasher had been damaged during delivery (broken hinges and damage to the tray). Beyond frustrated, I requested a new dishwasher; however, Home Depot wanted to send a third installer to see if he could repair the damage to the dishwasher. By then, I had run out of patience and requested my money be returned. Needless to say, this will be my last purchase from Home Depot. read more

Absolutely the SHITTIEST customer service I have EVER experienced with Home Depot!!!! I live less than 1.5 miles from them and I will NEVER give them any of my business again. I have four small children and my washer quit working. The model I needed was on display at the Wake Forest location so I called and spoke with a guy in appliances who was a complete jerk. I explained my situation and asked if they would be willing to sell their floor display since the online ordering wouldn't be able to get it to me for 3 weeks. Well with several young children that is not good for me. He blatantly told me he wouldn't sell me the display model so I asked if I could speak with the manager. He said sure I'll connect you but I can tell you now he won't sell it to you. After getting on the phone with the manager Billy and once again explained my situation he said he wouldn't sell me the display. I told him I used to work for Home Depot several years ago and that was never a problem at my store. Once again he told me he was unwilling to sell me the floor displays. I was so mad after speaking to not only the guy in appliances and then being told by the manager that he could basically give a rip less that I just hung up. Horrible service in appliances. Went in to buy a fridge...needed it same day, quick sale. No one ever asked if we needed help. Finally saw a lady at the counter and asked her if she could help us. She was so put out to have to walk to our fridge of choice. We told her we had just bought a house and needed a fridge ASAP. She told us us nothing could be delivered for 4-5 days. We then asked if she could check in the computer our model or even find us a quicker options, she said nothing until Saturday...it was Tuesday! Seems wrong to me that the associate who is point of contact to allow customers into this store does not wear a mask to protect us customers from the pandemic viris. 3 of of 4 customers are masked but she is not. Per Greg the Assistant Mgr they are sourcing masks for their associateS but have not been able to provide them. Per Greg it is a CDC "recommendation"'not a requirement. Right now they do not have masks for their employees and their associates may be spreading the Viris unknowingly. Should this person ever test positive they would have been in contact with hundreds or thousands of HD customers. It would make sense for them to mask the point of entry. Half of their associates are already wearing masks. Why not the person on the point?. Bad judgement by management in my opinion. Letting the associate dictate protocol. Please use common sense. Usually not a big fan of the Home Depot, as I find their crew to have less knowledge than the people in the blue uniforms across Capital Blvd. However, its in the Target parking lot and it was easier to get to, so I swung on in to give it a shot. On a mission looking for (what I did not know at the time was called) a drip apron for my shower door. Striking a path to the back of the store, looking for the sign reading "Showers & Tubs" we are met by a fellow in an orange apron asking us if we needed any help. (Thinking to myself, he will not be of any assistance, I decide to give him a shot and say - ) Yes, we are looking for this plastic thingy that runs along the bottom of our shower door to keep the water in (making hand motions in sizing up the door etc.). He stares blankly and looks down at the floor. Long uncomfortable pause, and he smiles. He says lady, I know exactly what you are talking about, and I don't have 'em! He said you are about the 4323rd person looking for that and I can not keep it in stock. He explains its called a DRIP APRON. He says he does not know where we can get one, but then later recommends a building supply company off Atlantic Ave. He takes us back to show us where they normally keep them on the shelf (when they have them in stock), but he says he can not get them from the manufacturer. I ordered an appliance on 6/23/2018 they were not delivered and installed until 7/20/2018. We had to schedule 4 different delivery dates! The Wake Forest Home Depot dropped the ball. Very long story short, they basically did not enter delivery dates into the computer after 4 different attempts! After many phone calls on my part over a 4 week period we were finally able to get our dishwasher delivered. Chris Craft the store manager does not care for his customers. He expressed this by never following up with us to help get our appliance delivered. Over a 4 week period he not once called to apologize or try and find a solution. I have written a more detailed letter expressing our full experience and have forwarded this on to the corporate office. I am hoping it reaches the district manager. They have refused to give me his direct email. read more

My latest dealing with Home Depot was frustrating. I have used them before to install carpet in my last house. The quality of carpet was less than great and the installers weren't house trained. They urinated all over my commodes in my personal home. No apology from Home Depot on that by the way--they passed the buck and said they were "contractors". I gave them another chance and the employee who worked on my quote was very helpful. I did have to make several trips into the store to get the pricing straight and they never could resolve it on the Home Depot website. That part was very frustrating. Home Depot is waiving shipping if you order online but since the pricing wasn't matching what was advertised for materials I couldn't order online. I went into the store and did ask for a discount. I was denied and was told by the manager Chris they don't give discounts just because someone asks for one. Fair enough, but they do have a sign posted saying they won't be undersold. Forget the fact I have more properties I'm rehabbing and that I drive business to your business. Maybe I'm not Home Depot's target audience...Anyway, he's right, they don't have to give me a discount, but I don't have to accept not getting a discount. I went to Lowes (had already had home measured with them and by the way they didn't charge for that like HD did) and explained what I had been through and they offered me a better deal with an upgraded product! No Stars. This is just a readers digest version... First of all let me say be afraid be very afraid.......of purchasing anything from The Home Depot. There aren't enough adjectives to describe the poor customer service in the wake forest store. I ordered a washer/dryer and range. The delivery service was so unacceptable -problem with order and installation and all items were put back on the truck. I immediately went to the store and cancelled my order and wanted my money back. Salesperson acted oh so helpful sure I can credit your account only you have to wait 3 days while the delivery people have to send us some sort of code before they actually can issue the refund. Don't' worry lady I'm on top of this, I'll take care of it. I promise you. THEN when I thought all was taken care of and the following week they tried to redeliver the cancelled stuff. Back to the store again- the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Told salesperson for the second time/on second trip I wanted my money and to call the manager- manager never came, must be in a meeting per the salesperson. Long story short... As of this writing all I have is a salesman who's favorite buzz phrases are PROMISE I'm on top of it, I'll take care of this for you and I'll call you. Weeks later....I have never had no phone call from Home Depot NOR have I been issued a refund/credit. SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! The Home Depot is holding my $2200 plus dollars hostage.
