The stortes are understaffed at the moment [but aren't stores in 2026?] but GREAT customer service.

This is my go to store anytime I need to fix something. Everyone is so helpful. Right when I come in there always someone that greets you and asks if you need help finding something. They have rewards program too, so I get lots of 5 dollar off coupons which works out great when I need to garden or have something go wrong with the house. They also do curb side pick up with covid-19. They have a really great selection of Benjamin Moore paints! If you need something really specific house wise, or lumber/ large items like sinks etc, I would suggest going to lowes or home improvement. But for basic stuff this place has it all and you are in and out pretty fast! read more

Thank you Richard!! Great customer service!!! We brought in 7 locks to be rekeyed. Richard noticed that 4 of them were already using the same key, so we only had to have 3 rekeyed, which saved us lots of money!! In addition, I was curious about the process, so he shared with me what he was doing to educate me! I appreciated the extra effort. Would definitely go back for any "key" needs we have. read more

Huge selection of any hardware needs and beyond. My only complaint is although the employees are friendly and will try to help you find something their knowledge pretty much ends there. I needed to find a new hose and also wanted to cut some off to create another hose. Trying to find someone to explain to me how to do that and what I'd need to add on the necessary hardware told me their knowledge in the "how to" dept was limited. That's what happens when corporations squeeze out the old fashioned mom & pop places where the owners and staff knew the in's and out's of everything. read more

I don't give bad reviews, my average is 4.5 stars. This review is only for the guys running the help area in the back. Rude. Just rude. To more than one customer based on the end of the conversation we heard as we got in line. Took window screens in for repair including reattaching the clips. The guy taking the order cut my husband off more than once. All he was interested in was name and phone number not what we wanted done. It was the abruptness of the comments. I have no issue that they don't make screens and that they don't reattach the clips but good grief be polite when conveying that. And if you don't reattach clips don't accept them from us to just lose them so that we have to buy new ones. Shame on us for opting to have the work done. Should have left and taken our business elsewhere. 2 stars only because the repairs that were done was decent work. The lady running the check out was super nice. Store clean and well stocked. Just don't get help from the back of store crew. read more

Great store with just about everything. Shit you dont think they have, they have.... lol

I love neighborhood hardware stores like this one. They are so friendly here, and have pretty good deals on most things. I especially love that they carry Benjamin Moore paints! read more

I bought a drill from this Ace Hardware and a few hours after I got home I opened the box to use it, and the plastic case only had the drill charger in. No drill. I called the store and told the manager what happened. It was closing time so I told him I'd come in on Monday. He apologized for the inconvenience and asked me if I lived nearby, after finding out that I did, HE BROUGHT THE REPLACEMENT DRILL TO MY HOUSE. No Home Depot or Lowe's will ever do that for a customer! I'm a loyal Ace Hardware customer for life. read more

Small cozy, excellently performed personal service, necessary items were readily available without big box store impersonal, non caring, indifferently, and neglected feeling under harsh lighting. read more

Usually has what I'm looking for and the employees are helpful and friendly. Better than the big box stores and not quite the hardware store of yesteryear but then there aren't many of those left. Free popcorn some days as well. read more

Love this Ace! They go above and beyond. I asked for masks and lo and behold, the manager sold me his personal stash from his office. They have a customer for life! Selection is amazing. Service is exemplary- always walking around asking to see if you need help. read more

Ricky runs the small engine repair area for Town and Country Hardware. He deserves BIG kudos for his kind and generous attitude. Last year I needed to get my lawnmower tuned up. I spoke to him about it and he actually offered to come to my home to pick it up and deliver it back to me at no charge (no strings attached). I thought I was dreaming when I heard him make this offer. I was bowled over by his amazing attitude which was memorable and so rare these days. He also gave me some tips for winterizing my mower so I wouldn't encounter the same issues caused by ethanol in my gas tank. I took his advice. My mower works wonderfully now and fired up on the first pull this spring with me tuning up my own mower (other than Town and Country sharpening the blade). Another situation arose where a teen was recently helping me with some yard work and he had asked me if I knew anywhere that he might buy a used weed whacker. I immediately thought of asking Ricky so after the boy left, I gave him a call asking if he had a used unit I might buy from him to give to this deserving boy. Ricky immediately offered to locate one for me which was wonderful of him. He promptly found one and let me know. Today I went to get the unit from Ricky. He not only found me a top of the line used Craftsman (that is capable of adding many nice attachments), he also provided the gas mix, a new spool of line to go with the unit, packets for mixing future gas and oil, a pair of sturdy gloves, some clippers, etc. The most amazing part was that he gave me all of these items for FREE which were all his own equipment. He even offered to keep the teen's mower blade sharp throughout the mowing season for free. I had to hug him for his kindness. This level of generosity so often is missing these days. It was truly heartwarming. I have had nothing but good experiences shopping in either Town and Country locations in Cary. I have been a faithful customer for over 30 years as they can always direct me to exactly what I'm looking for which saves me time and effort. Ricky definitely stands out as one of the most kind and generous customer service people I have met in Cary. The world needs more Ricky's!! read more

My go to place for Benjamin Moore paint! But every time I come in here, the service is so poor. Takes forever to get someone to help you and then when you do, they act like you're inconveniencing them. Unfortunate. ..a little quality customer service goes a long way folks! read more

Met a wonderful seasoned veteran named Bob that help me pick out a tree in the stand and help me load it. Nice guy with a great personality. The cashier was very helpful and patient also. Come to this location to get fresh cut real trees read more

Love this store. Always someone there to help. Great service and supply!!

We bought the smallest Weber grill (Spirit) from Town & Country and were so impressed with the store and the service. The store delivered the grill at the time promised - carried it to our patio, hooked it up to the propane tank and made sure the controls were working properly before they left. The delivery price was reasonable (maybe $30 but can't remember for sure), and the two professionals who so diligently made the delivery refused a tip. The price of the grill was the same everywhere we checked - so no more or less expensive at this store. This store is 1/2 hour drive from us but so worth the drive. They are in a small strip mall, but the store is large and carries lots of items. read more

Will never shop there again. Very rude, will not explain anything. Very cut n dry. Save your money and go elsewhere. We bought a toro lawnmower with a year warranty. They discontinued toros so now our warranty is no longer covered. Very dispointed!!! read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE. WORT SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EVER. They will not honor refunds on power equipment. Bought a STIHL MS271 chainsaw for $400 that would not idle right and shut off randomly. Had it serviced by Ricky 4 days after purchase. Ricky said he adjusted the carburetor, and that it's not uncommon for saws to come out the factory that way. Pick it up a day later. I wait another couple days to use it. Same problem. I can start it, but it shuts off both before i switch rev cycles and after a few revs to warm it up. It just keeps shutting off. So I go to return it and they will not refund me. All in all I have made 5 cuts into a 6 inch tree. I wanted to cut more but can not risk leaving a tree half cut. It's still new. Crooked store policy of not returning power equipment. DO NOT BUY HERE. Been here 5 times now. 1st (mar 10) to buy saw, 2nd (Mar 14) to repair it, 3rd (Mar 15) to pick up, 4th (Mar 18) to get refund. (Ed said I could but needed to call Stihl 1st on Monday Mar 21). So 5 car trips, $400 in the hole + my time. During my 5th visit, after heated exchange, Ricky said I never came in and had it serviced, so they won't honor the refund. I had him call Stihl after I talked to one of there reps. He also lied to Stihl saying there was nothing wrong with the saw. Excuse after excuse. I called him a liar and he came from around the desk and got in my face. He later apologized, but not OK. Ed the store manager would not refund but was willing to exchange. So i did for now. $400 I'm not giving up as I already paid to have trees taken down during my 11 day repair. Any free lawyers. I will write corporate, post on google maps, facebook, and the BBB contingent upon further actions by Town and Country Hardware in Cary, NC regarding this matter. Update. Wrote corporate. Got my money back. read more

Nice enough store and I've bought a few Stihl items there. Friendly staff but today topped it all. Went to pay and had a Virtual Visa card printed out to use. They wouldn't take it. Seriously said I had to have the plastic card. I explained it was a virtual card. The manager said the owners demand that a physical card be used. I explained if they'd just key in the number, expiration date and the CCV code it would work but the manager said I could come back and claim I never it used it there and take the money back. Wow. No idea how he came up with that and he nor the cashier seem to know how credit cards work. I ended up just using my main card to be done. Next time I'll go to ACE or Clays for my needs. In fact went to ACE today and used the virtual cards no issue. read more

Extremely charming hardware store, I extremely dislike the feel of major chain hardware stores which is why I prefer Town and Country Hardware. The service and the friendly employees are what really make the store stellar! They certainly know Southern Hospitality which is the reason I moved to North Carolina! I am a big fan and will avoid Lowe's and Home Depot as long as they have the supplies that I need, which they have so far! read more

I ready some of these earlier negative reviews before going in. My experience gave me the impression that the owner(s) had shared those concerns with the staff. There is indeed a group of teenagers, including the staff, socializing around the register. However, it gave me an impression more akin to an innocuous small-town hangout than bad business. As soon as I entered I was approached by a member of the staff, politely guided to the aisle, and offered further assistance. I don't expect anything beyond that, and nothing deterred my returning. read more
