Puffy tacos
Alisha O.

One of my favorite Mexican style restaurants. I always tell people about the massive amount of good you get and it's all so good ! This time I tried something new I got the puffy taco plate and they were really good and very filling. I will be back again.

Tom's Tailgate is our new go to for Mexican food. Generous portions of delicious food. Helpful friendly staff. Clean space. We love this place. I tell everyone. I'm walking around town in their merch like a billboard. Gotta have the chips and loaded nachos!

Greasy hardshell taco. I put the napkin to try to absorb some of the grease. But it was just too much.

Just had the worst hardshell taco I have ever had. Nowhere on the menu does it say that the meat is deep-fried with the shell. The meat was dry and chewy and were drowning in grease. After I finished the first one I was already feeling not too well from the grease. Got home and let's just say it wasn't good. But guacamole, rice and black beans were good. I may try this place again and try something different. We shall see.

Bolt

Absolutely unacceptable. Ordered the loaded nachos and found a bolt. Luckily I saw it before my family started eating the nachos. Had to throw them away just in case. Be careful ordering from here.

Half Size Nacho
Marc L.

Have been a craving for a while. They offer lots of options from loaded fries, nachos, and other standard fare. They have also made changes inside with digital menu boards and a bar with several hi-top tables. I had the half order of nachos which is plenty. The chile verde and shredded beef with habanero salsa. Yum ! So why three stars you ask ? The service was slow. I am patient and understanding but when I see a suboptimal processes and then people standing while you have a customer line 15 deep. Well not good. My opinion they kind of need to define what experience they want customers to have. Maybe take the order and then run the orders to tables. I am glad they survived the pandemic and I like the quality, but just need to tighten up the experience.

Welcome to Tom's Tailgate.

The best nachos ever! Thank you Krishna, Vidya and Ian for introducing me to this place! My only wish is that I knew about Tom's Tailgate sooner. Pros 1. Nachos are loaded and just the way I like with all the fixings 2. Portions is huge 3. Fair pricing 4. Chips stay crispy even though all the toppings sit on top 5. And most importantly, the taste is supreme! Cons None

3 fried tortillas and a small jar of guacamole for $8.

WTF?????? I have been coming here for years and couldn't be more disappointed. I wanted some chips and guacamole to watch the game and I got a little jar of guacamole and chips for $8. No mames guey. That's straight up robbery, how do you justify this price?

Great food, horrible customer service! It's very obvious half the staff doesn't even want to be there. The attitudes gotta go!

Are the beans vegan? Or what options are vegan friendly? thanks!!

I didn't even consider to think beans other than "vegan" if you wanna lable them? I wouldn't know how beans wouldn't be? Are there beans that aren't vegan?

Are there onions in the guacamole ? I'm dying to try their taquitos but I hate onions :(

There didn’t appear to be onions in the guacamole when I was there a week ago

Do they serve alcohol?

No alcohol served here

I would give it zero stars if I could. Avoid this at all costs. Super disappointing, given all the misleading positive reviews.

This restaurant is in such an obscure location, I can't believe I was going to a Burrito Track across the street for so many years not knowing this place existed. Friendly staff and prompt service. The unfortunate negative is it's location and I'm referring to parking. There must be 8 business crammed into this lot. With a bar to the right and a laudermat on its left finding a parking spot is like winning the lotto. Now layer in one driveway and you have to make a 3 point turn just to navigate to leave. The short answer is I will absolutely go back to this place as long as there is a parking space to be had.

The bartender was super attentive, and she was always there so it was very easy to order! I ordered two short rib tacos, which the tacos were $1 off, and the mole tots, which was probably $4 off? Pretty worth visiting during happy hour! Service was very quick. There were also other few people ordering food besides drinks at the bar. Starting off with the tacos, the short rib was very nice! Very soft, tender, and flavorful. You can taste that they put amount of hours to preparing the meat for it. I just wished they added more condiments to the taco cause it was just cilantro and onion. I wish there was like salsa, radish, etc. It's kind of pricey compared to a street taco, but the quality of the meat was definitely higher. Also the mole tots, this was pretty good, although I wish there was more cheese. First few bites were pretty good, but the more you eat it, it does taste quite overwhelming from the black salsa. I wish there was also more toppings to it too. Overall, dining at the bar during happy hour was very chill! The bartender was also very nice and welcoming. Saw a DJ was setting up, but didn't get to see him play when I was dining around 6:30pm.
