Tom's tailgate is so great! Fresh food all the time, great flavors and such a good atmosphere inside. Definitely recommended you try this place! read more

I've been eating at toms almost weekly for 8+ years and it never disappoints! The food is amazing, the portions are amazing, and everything is consistent. It's my favorite restaurant for a darn good reason! read more

This place used to be one of my favorite spots but as years go by we've noticed the quality go down tremendously. They give horrible service, portions are small, and they want to charge extra for the smallest things. Their meat lacks flavor which is weird because before it was super delicious. Went in today and got a bowl, I noticed something weird in my bowl. It was the outer part of an avocado! read more

Tom's Tailgate - Mexican Near Me - La Mirada, California

I'm so disappointed, I had order the nacho bar at least 3-4 times a year and also referred people to get it because it's been my go to for parties. Portions are amazing . I went to my "nancho bar" for 13 and I was informed they cut ther portion for small nachos not big ones. Which would have been fine had they disclosed that when I ordered. For our nacho bar I got one gallon size zip lock bag of chips for 13 people! I complained and got another gallon. I asked how much meat I got and it was 4 pounds for 13 people. I had to buy 2 more pounds and another gallon of chips and had to pay another $45 dollars. This is a bummer, it was our go to place for catering and food, we will not go back. We would have gotten more food in line for less for the amount of money. I never leave these reviews but want to make people aware that the per person price of $15 no longer lines up with the food they give. I should not have paid $15 per person for one gallon of chips for a nancho bar. read more

Tom's Tailgate - This is supposed to feed 13 people - Mexican Near Me - La Mirada, California

The food was really good, I got the loaded fries (I got carne asada as well as a few other toppings) but unfortunately I got food poisoning the next day :( . Worth it, though! read more

Food was great and the service as well. They were out of potato tacos We had their fish tacos highly recommended

What can I say. Great food with amazing and great customer service. I really like the soft taco plate with chicken. My Go To Brought a friend for his first time and he got some HUGE Burrito and said it was tasty. Tom stopped by our table and asked how we liked it and wanted to make sure everything was good as this was on Cinco De Mayo . Great awesome staff, atmosphere.and got our or very quickly Will be back again read more

Even though their outside lights were dim, they were busy with steady customers. Looks like a local favorite. There's big screen tvs all over, playing sports. It was hard to decide what to get. I changed my mind a few times after seeing what others were ordering lol The soft taco plate comes with 3 tacos, rice and beans. They load up on toppings. Almost too much. It was hard to hold and eat. I would recommend having them put some of the toppings on top of the rice and beans so that see and taste more of what's in the taco. Al Pastor, Shredded Beef and Chicken soft tacos were good. The bowl with Spanish rice and carne asada was good. Again, loaded with toppings. You can barely see the meat. I really liked the green sauce. Very tasty with a little kick. Make sure to add on top. read more

I've been here before plenty of times on weekends and all has been good !!! But today I went during bf/lunch ...place was lonely ...between two laddies working in my order is was a lot of back and forth for a then 3rd lady to get my order wrong ! Instead of being sorry she was about to scrap the carne asada from my burrito until I said it's fine I'm on my lunch break ...mind you I had already explained my order to literally 3 ladies !!!! One lady gave me guacamole and the other one charged me FOUR BUCKS...never going back to this place ...one of them was an extremely RUDE ! Light younger female ...she needs better customer service skills ! read more

Well, I gave up being negative for lent (and I'm not even Catholic). That being said ... I'm very grateful for the friendliness of the lady with the glasses and big smile. Otherwise, I didn't know if I was checking into boot camp, or airport security at LAX with the guy taking my order.. wow! Best thing about this place is the price. The food is ok. I typically have to microwave it when I get home. Generous portions tho! a smile goes a long way! All the best to you guys read more

I'm not sure what is going on at TT? This is the 2nd time in a month I've placed an on-line order and when I show up 10 min after the ready time I have to wait another 20/30 minutes. I thought the last time was a one off but I guess not. The food preparation person was nice and told me to just go to the register, when I got there and gave them my name they were dumbfounded, I could tell by the way they huddled up and had a LARGE stack of orders in their hands that something was wrong. The lady with the glasses was nice and I heard her tell another customer who was waiting for 30 minutes for his order that the fat girl had not been pulling the orders. The lady with the glasses was nice and apologized to everyone and showed remorse, the fat one thought everything was funny, didn't say anything to anyone and started rushing out orders. When I finally got mine it was a mess, I ordered 2 hard shell tacos and when I checked the order the bottoms were cracked , I'm sure because of rushing. I just left because I did not have another 40 minutes to wait nor did I want to make a scene. Bottom line this place is a mess so make sure you allow for EXTRA time if you place an on line order and double check it before you leave. Not sure if I'll be going back, never thought I would say that about TT. read more

Favorite nacho spot! Generous portions of toppings and meat. Their service is good. Try em out

I eat here all the time. Food is good. Last week I ordered the soft taco plate and it came with chips. Today, same order, but took my order to go. I asked for the chips and was told its an extra cost. So let me understand this. Just because I don't eat in the establishment I don't get the chips?. Be better Tom's, for $.50 worth of chips? Unacceptable read more

For starters they don't do phone orders and their online ordering is a bust as well. If you come in person though the staff is super nice and we love the tri tip fries. Their asada tacos are also pretty good read more

The food here is always on point! I have never been disappointed with any of the food here. It is a little pricey but it is quality anf full of flavor. read more

Food was decent. Service on the other hand not so great unless you are white! Ignored us until some white peoples showed up

Excellent burritos and nachos. Ordered some trays two months ago of Carne Asada, chicken, refried beans and Mexican rice for a party. Everyone enjoyed the food. read more

Food is always bomb and fresh! Love the chile verde nachos, hard shell tacos and taquitos! Friendly service and if you dine in it's always clean! read more

Delicious food, delivers on time. Always more than you can eat. Has many choices to go with, just depends on how much your budget is.

The establishment isn't in a fancy plaza where buildings are upgraded, but the interior was very comfortably remodeled. There are booths and tables, along with a bar area. We ordered a loaded nachos with al pastor and carnitas, and it was ready before the estimated completion time! The nachos were truly loaded and they gave a generous portion! The Al pastor was very tender and delicious. We added guacamole and were surprised that they do not charge extra for guacamole, and it was not a skimpy portion either! The staff were welcoming, though would suggest for someone to back up the cashier if she's assisting a customer with a custom order or answering lengthier questions. Especially if the next customer is there to simply pick up an order. This will help keep your line moving too. read more

Tom's Tailgate - Loaded Nachos with Al pastor, carnitas and guacamole. - Mexican Near Me - La Mirada, California

What the hell happened to this place!. I moved away for a while, got back and decided to go eat here again and I was expecting the same taste of food as well as the portion size.... But it was totally different not the same taste or portion size. They want to charge you extra for certain items that i personally think is a bit much...$2 for a pinch of grilled onions on my tacos and let's not forget to mention the customer service was not the best kinda rude. Sad to say I was disappointed with the overall quality, experience and quantity of the food that used to be Tom's tailgate. To be honest won't be recommending this place no more to out of state friends and family. read more

I came for an uber pickup the older lady w grey hairs saids to me it's not ready it will be a while you can cancel the order if you like and another uber will come pick it up .. ,all I said was yes when she asked are you here for the uber pickup... literally i said nothing more than just a yes...I don't appreciate the unprofessional service, she could of just stated it will be a few minutes just like any other spot she had no right to tell me this :/ read more

Best food I have ever had. They have the most freshest food and they make it to perfection.

My sister & I have never heard of this place before. We are usually skeptic on trying new places that serve Mexican Food but we tried the Super Fries yesterday & holy shit it was bomb! So bomb that we ordered twice! The meat is well cooked & well seasoned! Not many places excel in doing that! Hats off to the cooks! Definitely not our last time ordering from here! read more

My favorite place for lunch. Delicious, generous and consistent. Highly recommended.

Tom's Tailgate is like Chipotle on steroids, but with MORE choices. Wife loves their crispy chicken tacos combo w/beans (3 choices) & Mexican rice. Taquitos are great! Mexican Nacho fries are worth the trip. All fresh ingredients, made to order right in front of you! Eat here once and you're hooked for life! read more

Rude Asf. service was horrible and slow workers looking at customers up and down. Food was mid

Was great, but prices gone up and now you can't add toppings on tacos without paying more... lettuce, cheese and tomatoes cost extra. If you order the beef tacos, you ONLY get beef. read more

Yeep Khrishna C. often visits Tom's Tailgate, so that was a good enough recommendation for me! TT is a good neighborhood taco shop in La Mirada. Located in a big strip mall at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Santa Gertrudes Ave, it was easy to get to. Once you get inside, you are channeled into the ordering station. There a Chipotle-like series stations allow you to order and get it customized. It wasn't busy at about 5 pm on a Friday, so I got my food quick. Saw a note off to the side that a bar will be opening soon. It will definitely make it a hangout to watch sports games. I got a crunchy taco & a half order of loaded nachos. Both the taco shell and nacho chips were home made. Very good and it hits the spot! Glad I got the half order of nachos as a full order would have meant a lot of leftovers! And eating soggy nacho chips the next day isn't fun! Total with tax was about $16, average. There are some other items on the menu I would like to try. Repeat and recommend! read more

First time order through uber eats. Really good food . Brc burrito was good. Nachos were tasty as well. Definately gonna order again ..

Man, what can I say? The nachos are fire the burrito I had was delicious the tri-tip on the nachos. Very good just all the food in general delicious will come back again. My Daughter got the chips , cheese , beans and the rice. She loved it and she's a picky one . They have the basics down and that makes or break a business. Tom's keeps going strong !! read more

The food is delicious and the employees are detailed but sometimes the environment is too noisy.

I've been coming to Toms for years and love the food and actually still enjoy the food but today I received the worst service ever by the gentleman making our food. I ordered 1 large order of super fries, 2 puffy tacos and 1 soft taco. Simple right.. well the gentleman forgot to put our fries on and had to heat up our soft taco tortilla a couple times due to it sitting. Then he starts prepping our food without asking for here or to go, so I kindly say the food is for here and he annoyingly moves our food over. But the icing on the cake was when my son asked for 1/2 his fries with Nacho cheese and he plops a spoon of cheese in the middle. Then when told to move it over to 1/2 he says he asked for Nacho cheese. Yes, but not in the middle and he shrugs his shoulder and walks away. Rude rude rude!! Customer service is a reflection of leadership and makes me wonder about Tom's Tailgate leadership! read more

Tom's Tailgate is the perfect comfort meal. When my favorite thing to get here is the loaded nachos. They only cost about $12 for a full and $11 for a half. For a dollar more it's definitely worth getting the full. I usually end up with leftovers to reheat later. You get to assemble your nachos like you would at chipotle. They have a variety of meats, cheeses, and salsas to choose from. I personally prefer the carne asada with the cheddar cheese. The workers aren't stingy with the portions either. You can barely close the lid. The workers here are very kind and helpful. The two girls behind the counter were really patient with me as I took my time deciding which toppings I wanted. The restaurant itself is very spacious and clean. They have a bit of a rush in the evenings and when there are major school events. However, I promise that this place is worth the wait. read more

Well, decided to give this place a try again, and walked out after waiting 10 minutes with only one person ordering in front of me. This place's service is dogsh*t in the worst way. Watching them make burritos was horrible... just throwing on the food. You are better off going across the street to Mikes. At least there, they know something about customer service. read more

Like Chipotle, but better/with more authentic Mexican food. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options and they serve their chips with each menu item. Portions are large and definitely should be shared! Free guac is a big plus! Not the most amazing Mexican food I have ever eaten, but fairly solid and a pretty good price point. My only caution is that my stomach is still hurting from the carnitas/al pastor bowl I had five hours ago (hence the 4/5). read more
