One of the Best Burgers I have ever had. I was stationed out at Vandenberg AFB back in 2003 and ate here only twice but still compare all others burgers to the masterpiece Tom's had. They have so many burgers it will make your head spin. They are seasoned and cook perfect and no condiments are necessary. Like I said I still compare other burgers to this place. Huge burger selection and good size burgers. A basket of fries comes with a enough for 4 people. I wish the menu items didn't have such long descriptions. I know its suppose to be cute, but not when I'm starving! Nevertheless, I enjoyed my mushroom burger with pepper jack, hold the onions. I scarfed it down pretty quickly. Maybe if this was a tiny, tiny mom and pop store/restaurant then I'd be more forgiving, but it's a busy and popular burger joint. Maybe have a $10 minimum or something... but anyway... The popular A-Z menu... most of the items are legit, some seem like fillers for the alphabet menu lol. Ive had the jalapeno burger (i forget which letter that is... maybe its a J), the banana burger, and a few others. The burgers are prices right and exactly what one would expect for a typical hole in the wall burger place. The burgers dont come with fries and they need to be ordered separately, however they are reasonably priced as well and a basket of them can easily feed 3-4 people. You can do half-baskets and stuff but I've yet to do that. This place is easy to miss if you're not familiar with the area. I've been to Lompoc several times in the past, but when I heard about this place and tried finding it (with help from my phone), it was still a little hard to find. Even when I saw the little strip mall it's located it, it can be missed. I like how they also serve beer. beer and 26 different burgers to choose from?... sounds like a good spot to me! read more

Just revisited Tom's--and I've got to give them 5 stars this time. I'm still not eating beef (and now I am done with pork, too...) but I'm still cramming BBQ wings and turkey bacon into my gob so I took a chance on their 'turkey burger'. It was GREAT!!! Really...the best turkey burger I have ever eaten. I know, I know, it's silly to go to a burger place and then not eat the beef. But I gotta tell you, if you wander into Tom's at a time when you are off beef, and want to try an alternate, get the turkey burger. I had it with avocado, swiss cheese, grilled onions, and tomato. Good burger. I had the bacon swiss and it was pretty good. However the interior of this location makes me think "yeah, i'll go for takeout next time with this place " ... I don't expect a "fancy" old school burger joint by any means but I believe they are overdue for an interior update with regard to comfort. Feels like you're eating in a high school cafeteria. Sorry. Tom's Hamburgers is the BEST!! What else can be said? We went last night and again the service was GREAT!! I get to a point when I go to places I like my same waitress as much as possible, in this case Marie she is the best always remembers what I drink I rarely have to ask for a refill on my drink and never have to ask for my check when I'm done eating its always on the table ready to go. The Hamburgers get an A++ always juicy and cooked perfect and we love the sweet potato fries they offer, soups are good as well. And now they serve this delicious baklava. It's a generous piece for two people and fresh! you can taste the honey, butter and the pistachios. In the mood for a burger in Lompoc? This place Dosnt look like much with its hidden from the street view. But Toms has the best and satisfy any craving from bacon burgers to avocado burgers. Burgers from A to Z and if you finish the whole alphabet you get a T-shirt. Don't forget onion rings or french fries but only a 1/2 order of fries unless you have a lot of people. Sweet potato fries are really good. Ask for the fried zucchini it's off the menu item. The full order is huge! They also have breakfast. Now accept credit cards. This was my first visit to Tom's. Because this restaurant had decent reviews, I decided to give it a try. I had the "B" with avocado. For us first-timers, the menu takes a while to read as you have to take the time to through each of the A-Z descriptions to know what each burger is. Now, as far as burgers go, it was great! Tom's burgers is one of those places that is a classic hang out to the town and to people who have lived here a long time or maybe grew up here. I did grow up here but I only went to Tom's burgers for the first time in the past year. They were a little busy the time that I went there and think seemed a little bit disorganized. To me the prices were a little bit high in relation to what we were being served. I think I could've bought the same thing elsewhere for maybe 10 to 20% less. If anything the prices, and I did not have a hamburger I had breakfast, might be what would deter me from becoming a regular customer. I wouldn't be against going back to try some of the hamburgers that everyone raves about but I can't see myself becoming a regular. The burger meat is really thin! It's not the best burger restaurant in Lompoc and their fries are okay! I think the employees are nice. However, their burgers are mediocre. I really appreciate how it's nicely grilled but I prefer my hamburgers with a more gourmet flavor. This is not my go-to place! I recommend it for people to just try. read more

The food is great and this is a great local restaurant but I just witnessed the manager on duty, Jimmy, behaving in an extremely unprofessional manner and displaying abusive behavior to employees. On Friday, November 30th around 5:40 the employee was screaming obscenities and at another employee in the kitchen, loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear and for people to become alarmed. The behavior was completely unacceptable for restaurant guests but more so for employees. It was a hostile work environment and the owners of the restaurant need to remove that employee, especially considering that he is an a manager role. read more

Tom's has a good assortment of burgers, with one for each letter of the alphabet. They have normal burgers and funky ones like peanut butter or sour cream and olives. They also have other non-burger menu items, but their main draw is the burgers. The beef vegetable soup broth can tend to be a little salty. The fries and onion rings are also good. If going for lunch, get there before noon because the place fills up at that time. Warning: Tom's does not accept credit cards, so bring enough cash with you. read more

I would not recommend this for groups bigger than four; the place is really small and doesn't take reservations. The food is pretty good for a mom n' pop place. The burgers are are the smaller side and the fries come unseasoned and unsalted (there's season and salt on your table so that you can put it on to your liking). Is it the best place ever? No, but it's a pretty decent meal, although I won't be coming here again because while their burgers are really inventive and fun to eat, I don't think it's worth the wait for the burger and the cramp space of the restaurant. read more

I expected an out-of-this-world burger (I ordered the mushroom burger) for the price and it was just plain to me.
