Tried to dine in for a late Saturday dinner (8:30pm) dinner but they told us their dining room was closed. This wasn't posted anywhere, only that they were open until 10pm. However, this was a blessing because ONLY from the inside can you see that they have a B health inspection rating. I looked it up and they have multiple major failures even after multiple inspections. (This is public information anyone can look up themselves.) I could not recommend this restaurant. read more

Great little restaurant right down the street from La Mirada park! Good diner food spot! Always piping hot French fries, fresh grilled burgers and even the breakfast was worth mentioning! I had the pleasure of eating here Saturday afternoon drive thru usually always busy so you know that's a good sign! Went in ordered and food was brought to my table! The comforting nostalgia of mom and pop burger spots is what attracted me to Tom's Jr. It was a sunny Friday off work and that was enough excuse to grab a savory cheeseburger and chili cheese fries for lunch. Was not disappointed! Immediately I appreciated the freshness of the fries; hot out of the fryer and generously seasoned with my guess of Lawry's Seasoned Salt. The double cheeseburger was delicious, in presentation and taste. What set this burger apart was the genius idea of thinly sliced red onion, that gave the burger a unique dynamic and the perfect amount of onion zest to balance the burger. The chili cheese fries were as expected: a mountain of crispy fries covered in an avalanche of thick chili with a thick blanket of Colby Jack Cheese. On Thanksgiving Day My wife called at 12:45 to see what time the restaurant was going to close and they said 2pm so I went over and got in the drive thru and was told it was closed at 12:58. Service is horrible. Saw the cook take things off with his bare hands after they missed up on my order. The order was a simple cheeseburger meal with a club sandwich meal. My husband and I live close by and this by far one of our favorite places to eat when we don't want to cook. I love their fries, they're seasoned well. The burgers are always a hit. We recently went for breakfast and I got the pancakes meal and it came with 3 pancakes, eggs, and 4 sausage links. It was so much food, I had to take it home for later. This is your classic burger spot everything you would expect from a place like this. Burgers are great prepared on grill juicy and flavorful. Fries have that nice seasoning perfectly cooked crispy outside soft inside. Sandwiches are also great I have tried the pastrami and the chicken both great but my go to is the cheese burger simple but effective. Service is always quick and friendly. Been going here for years and love their breakfast burritos. But after today, I regret to say they have just lost a faithful customer. I wanted to order a patty melt and substitute the beef patty for a turkey patty, and they said no? I even offered to pay extra!!! But they said NOOO!! Yet they were fine selling me a turkey burger with cheese? Please tell me what is the problem with substituting the beef patty for a turkey patty???? That's unheard of. This is my second time eating here. I had some hope this time. The first time the fries were over salted and stale and the burger was burnt. This time the chili cheese fries were great but the burger was unseasoned and looked like it was warmed up in the microwave. I couldn't finish it. The lettuce was gross tasted bitter and had nothing but the stems in the burger. The drive thru workers were nice and did take a while to give us our meal. They seem like they like their jobs. Maybe it was an off day but I got a bad stomachache from the burger. Not very happy. 2 stars for the chili cheese fries and the drive thru workers attitude. Price wise. Now, there weren't a ton of people inside for a Sunday morning, yet the floor was very dirty. There were flies inside. The restaurant did not seem up to standard cleanliness wise. I hopped on Yelp and looked at nearby burger joints. I always drive by Tom's Jr. I decided to give them a try. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and side of onion rings. Everything was delicious. The burger was fantastic. If you like Douglas, you'll like Tom's Jr.'s burgers. Same charbroiled goodness. The onion rings were phenomenal as well. Nice crunch. I went to this place this evening going through the drive thru and I was placing my order, when I told the lady taking my order and I was in the middle of my ordering I said...just a moment because there was lots of noise from a truck backing up making the warning noise...the lady started to repeat the order back to me when I corrected her with the order and I wanted add few more items but she said that I was holding up the drive thru line. I bought a burrito at 2:57 PM today, 3/10/25. I ate half and my son ate the other half . His half of the burrito had big chunks of avocado seed. I called Tom's at 6 PM, and I asked the gentleman, if avocado seed chunks are common occurrence with their burritos. He actually said "yes." He said they are edible and some seed chunks will be in their food, since they cut their own avocados. So if you don't mind, avocado seed chunks in your burritos, then this is the place to eat. I, on the other hand l, am disappointed. I don't like avocado seed in my food. If it was a whole seed, maybe I could plant it, but it was chopped in large chunks. Just be careful y'all read more
