On a whim, I stopped into Tommy's Hair and Nails for a manicure and pedicure. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Prices seemed a bit lower than average for nails and waxing services. I've been going to my same hairstylist for years so cannot comment on hair prices. Indoors is basic but clean. I was seated promptly without a wait. I was the only person receiving nail services, while several others were receiving hair services. I left happy with my $60 manicure and pedicure combo. Last Saturday, I booked an appointment for a dip manicure and gel pedicure with a salon in everett. I booked the appointment online for 2pm. Since I had never been to this salon, I used Google maps for directions. Unfortunately, Google maps led me astray and I ended up the wrong salon, the two salons have very similar names. When I arrived I asked the woman who greeted me if they had my appointment, she said yes. I should have asked them to confirm my name or the name of the person I booked with, she bold face lied and said she had my appointment. No integrity, complete dishonesty, stealing a customer from another business by lying. I had doubts, but I thought maybe I am being paranoid. I sat down and received the worst Dip manicure. The nails were lumpy, uneven and smudged. While my pedicure looked good, the methods were odd and could have been more sanitary. After my appointment I went to my car and checked out the reviews and they didn't match the service I received. Not only that but the photos seem off. This shop has many good reviews and I don't see how. The woman who did my nails clearly had no idea what she was doing. I could have done this caliber of work on my own blind folded. This place is a complete scam, they lie and are dishonest. They don't deserve the one star I did give them. read more

Great pedicure at reasonable price, but sadly not coming back. Low rating because they changed me $6 for shampoo (only) one time and the next $10. Then, the next time they rushed me to the styling chair for a blow-dry, never tellingly me that a blow-dry is a separate charge. While my hair was being dried, the woman asked me if I wanted her to trim the hair on the back of my neck. Initially, I said no thank-you. She told me it would be free. So, okay. Then when I went to pay, I was charged Goethe blow-dry and trim. Done with them. Too many other providers. read more

My mother found this awesome place many years ago Love Min to pieces she has cut and styled all our family's down to a few 1st hair cuts on the babies. Very disappointed in this nail salon after seeing all the great reviews. I went in last Friday to have my shellac changed out. They said they could take me and it wasn't busy at all at the time. Immediately, one of the manicurists began working on taking off my shellac, putting on the cotton puffs and foil. She went quickly with the buffer and cut my nail beds on multiple nails which felt great with the polish remover. 20 minutes later they said it would still be a few more minutes... (longer than that). Then, a different manicurist came to work on me but then decided to switch me off to a third. I felt like I was being passed around. Finally, the first manicurist came back and began working on me. Again, working quickly she cut me so badly when removing my cuticles that I wouldn't stop bleeding for several minutes. In the end I was happy with how my nails looked until the next morning (Saturday) TWO of my nails had already started peeling (that NEVER happens at my regular place). Seriously?! I paid $25 for a shellac that lasted less than 24 hours... never going back. read more

My husband has been getting his haircut here for at least half his life or longer (he's 30), and I started coming here for manis & pedis. Like another Yelper, I did get my hair cut here once - actually, it was more of a trim. A trim is a trim, nothing special. I really didn't like how she flat ironed my hair - the iron was too hot and made my hair look really crappy. Anyways, I won't base this review on their hair services since I've only been once for that. I only go here for manis and pedis - the ladies there are always SO nice, and I've only ever walked in w/o appointment with no problem. What I love about Tommy's is that they legitimately clean their foot baths unlike other shops that just spray the tubs and rinse to get the next customer in the chair. They also use new nail files, buffers and sponge toe separators (you know the ones) and I know for certain they sanitize their other tools. Their prices are great - I think it's $35 for a mani & pedi - and for $10 extra, you can get the shellac polish on your manicure instead of the regular nail lacquer. At other nail salons I've been gouged when upgrading to the shellac polish (charging separately & full price for the mani and pedi, instead of the reduced combo price). The downside to the shellac for me is that the manicures never last longer than 10 days for me. This isn't because of their product (I don't think), but because I wash my hands very frequently, and their shellac brand just doesn't hold up well to hands that get washed often. I've gone back to regular polish manicures because they last about the same amount of time on my hands as the shellac does. read more

I went in with a picture for what color my hair should be dyed....the two ladies paid ZERO attention to it and after I told them numerous times not to make it blonde and not to give me streak highlights, they made it exactly that---blonde and streaked. Disregarded everything I asked for and messed up all my hair. After that, they both got mad at me because I said it was not what I asked for and proceeded to act rude the entire time I was there. The owner was kind enough to fix what she could for me and I appreciated the effort. But it still was nothing of what I asked for. I ended up having to buy a box of dye from the store and attempted to save what I could of my horribly dyed hair. I still paid 80 bucks. I got my hair done here last Saturday. These women that work in this shop work miracles! My hair is amazing. I arrived terrified that my hair might not be able to be fixed. It was really long and covered in black dye. It was old black dyde. Mien assured me that yes she could fix my hair. She and her army of beauty experts attacked my hair in waves... The finished result was amazing and I could not stop smiling. I looked like a movie star. Thank you thank you. Then it came time to pay up, I was expecting a substantial hit. Their prices were 1/2 what I would expect to pay for a tremendous service like what was received. This is first quality and amazing value. Before you shoot me down for being absolutely contradicting, HEAR ME OUT TIL THE END. I've been going here for my hair for about 5 or so years now. I question why I continue to come back because it's not the best hair cuts I've had but also not the worst. Although the price is very affordable, you do get what you pay for. As for the stylists, they are very nice & will do their best to accommodate you. The salon is very clean and a lot of the customers that come in seem to be regulars. When it comes to wanting a new style cut, I still am a little hesitant because I've never honestly come out fully satisfied but I guess finding the perfect go-to hair salon is just a hurdle in life I'm still trying to conquer. read more

The owner named her salon after her son many years ago. Her employees have all been with her since she opened. A very clean and well kept salon. My first visit was because no hair salon in Everett used henna except her. She did a great job, and my hair feels wonderful. She also used henna on my eyebrows to complement my face. My hair came out beautiful. And the price was very reasonable. Went back today for a touch-up. Again she took great care to make sure I was comfortable and liked my hair. This is my first time here and I came here for a haircut as I haven't had my hair cut in over a year and it became extremely long. Normally, I don't let anyone touch my hair unless it was someone from Aveda or Gene Juarez and just a small trim but decided to try saving a little more money and slightly style my hair a little differently this time . I told Judy exactly what I wanted and even showed a picture of what I would like. She understood immediately and she quickly but carefully did her best to make my hair look amazing. I have been visiting Min and her courteous staff since 1997 when I was 19 and still had hair. Now with less hair I still trust them to cut what I have left. I've referred several friends over the years and all have been treated excellently. My opinion may be biased for I've rarely, in the last 2 decades, gone elsewhere but I've rated them 5 stars for good reasons. The cost to cut stays close to the same as my first visit. They always take my appointment and welcome my walk in. They'll wash my hair or not per my desire and always offer. Several chairs for pedicure are available. I hear they do a great job with nails so if I needed I'm sure they would help. Others are always visiting but I rarely wait to be assisted. And finally the staff all work hard to keep it clean and comfortable all the time. I visit twice monthly and could shave my own head but why when I'm treated like this?
