I was a little nervous only because I had never seen Dina before and it's a big service for the first hair appointment with a new stylist. Dina is great. I got a balayage and deep condition done with Dina. I bought a Groupon after I read the awesome reviews on here. Dina is extremely personable, very down to earth and hard to not like her. Making appointments was easy, just gave her a text and she responded within a reasonable time. I asked her to lighten up my already balayage hair and she did just as I asked. Dina did not charge me extra for any "extras" like some other salons would make you do ( ie: "long hair", "thick hair", "toner", 3"etc). She was already at the salon ready for my appointment. She offered me water, tea/coffee. She's very knowledgeable and communicates great. She also curled my hair, which was really nice. I walked out the salon loving my new vibrant hair. One more thing to mention, I had washed my hair 2 days after my salon visit and my hair turned brassy/orange, I sent her a text asking her why to do/how to fix it, I felt terrible asking, but she was totally okay with it. She explained that the toner may not have fully saturated into my hair and within the next following day, brought me back in to tone it. Which turned out perfect and I'm happy to say it's gone through hair washes and looks amazing! I am so happy that I found Dina at Blush Salon! After spending literally hundreds of dollars at two of Seattle's top hair salons, I was starting to believe that I would never get the haircolor I was searching for. Thankfully I was wrong. Dina really heard me when I described what I wanted. She turned my "forever brassy" washed out blonde into a gorgeous classy, beige ( not too ash- which is very aging) blonde with just the perfect amount, contrast and shade of low lights. Then she gave me my very first Brazilian Blow Out. I was actually very fearful of getting the blow out as stick straight hair is not attractive on me. I learned that a Brazilian can be customized to your tastes. The Brazilian Dina gave me still left me with volume but it is soft and manageable now! Way to go Dina! read more

Editing my review to address the mystery of one star!! If you don't have patience to read the long review - in one word - AVOID!!! Save your hair, money and time! Giving Dina one star for advising me against a Brazilian blowout and saving a lot of money!! By this I mean I give her a star for her honesty coz the work done on my hair deserves no star! I am glad I didn't waste money on any other services here! I bought a Groupon for root touch up and full balayage. She charged me $25 extra coz I had long hair. Waste of money and time! First of all she double books every appointment! I agree one should work as hard as one can but not at expense of others time! I waited for about 30 mins before I could sit in that chair and begin a hair ruining experience. This experience continued with the other 2 clients that came after me. I also asked for a haircut which was done after the balayage! I am used to getting my hair cut before getting my hair colored but clearly things work differently in this salon. I found her work sloppy and the result was atrocious. Had a nice conversation with Dina but the work done on my hair is pathetic. My hair is damaged, mixture of blonde, orange and grey. I came here because a friend of mine always posted such pretty hair from here. In the mid of a transition from chocolate cherry to a reverse ombre ( blonde with dark tips) I needed a root touch up, and wasn't expecting or could afford much more. Dina was very friendly. She gave me a competitive price, and got right to work. Now, my hair was platinum blonde, orange blonde, and brown. She offered to use toner to help get the orange out and even things out a bit. It was amazing how well it got the orange out. I was slightly bumbed because the platinum got diluted, but I will defiantly be back for her to finish my look. Love this place! I bought a full balayage and root touch up from groupon with Dina and wasn't disappointed! She schedules through text, which I love and was great at getting back with me. I did have to wait A bit to get in for an appointment, but I also had a restrictive schedule where I can only do Friday, Saturday's or Sunday's. Parking was a bit of a pain, but it was also the first gorgeous day after school had gotten out. Being so close to the beach, I expected to have parking issues, so I left early. The same places that your family or your closest friends recommend and you absolutely fall in love with. I would say Dina at Blush Salon is one of the gems I want to share with you! So this is a long time coming. My forever dream hair is a platinum balayage. Where I can finally have pastels and get the MERMAID hair of many vibrant colors. This has been a want for so long. Now the hardest thing after growing out your hair for years is to trust someone with your hair and doing something this dramatic. Dina made this change so much more easier for me. She's very straightforward and that's a quality I love in a hair stylist. Reason being is I would want my stylist to set my expectations at what she/he knows she/he can do. She's also very accommodating! So my appointment had to be rescheduled because of a flight cancelation coming back from vacation. I notified Dina the day before my appointment and she totally understood. I didn't get charged for canceling on such short notice and she worked with me to get rescheduled very soon after. One thing you should keep in mind is she is one busy gal! So that just means she a hot commodity and book quickly! She finished my hair so fast and the quality was great! She also listened to me about the way I part my hair and what I was comfortable with when she trimmed my hair. I got a balyage and cut after buying the Groupon. Dina did a fantastic job. Color looks fabulous, got just what I wanted. I showed her a bunch of pins of colors I liked, and she asked the right questions so that she got it perfect. She tweaked my cut perfectly so my style was a little edgier than before I came in (exactly what I asked for). I get so many compliments. As always, I had my fingers crossed when I walked into this place. I was immediately slapped with the adorable vintage, shabby chic decor. It was a welcomed far cry from the huge, hectic, noisy salons that I usually attend. In minutes, my service was started. As a former hair stylist, I usually give vague instruction. Hair stylists are essentially artists and I personally like to let them put their creativity to work. I purchased the Groupon for a full balayage + deep condition. Dina worked quickly and had such great energy. She seemed genuinely excited to color my hair and was confident during the consultation. When she was finished applying the color, I took a nice nap in the cozy and quiet salon. I work nights, so this was so appreciated. I'll skip to the good part. My red hair now has gorgeous caramel/golden pieces running through it. I will definitely go back to Dina and recommend her to others. I came here for the first time with a Living Social deal, and I instantly fell in love with this vintage-style decor of the small boutique. I had Morgan do a balayage on my hair, and I was surprised at first about how it turned out because the color was so light. It was also a little bit different than I imagined it would look, especially since I've been looking up balayage pics. But I love the look the following day. Probably wouldn't go here for another balayage or touch up, but maybe a cut. read more

I bought a Groupon for my service and was told it would be $25 extra for the color since my hair was long. I told her I only wanted 2 or 3 inches cut off and she cut 5 I told her I like the layers I had in my hair and to cut it the same. She got done and I had to tell her to put the layers in the hair. I don't like the choppy way she did it totally could have done just as good on my own. At the end of the service I was unhappy with the color and the cut and was told I owed $75. Honestly I will not be back! I wish she had told me before hand that the cost was going to go up from buying a Groupon plus the $25 extra and the other changes cause I would have refunded my Groupon. Not happy with at all I miss my old hair color and cut. Also on my ride home I had hair color around my face and on my ears, nose and forehead. And that's fine like I said you told me about the $25 extra for the hair color. What you did not tell me was that you would be adding on $50 more for the cut that was not apparently included in the Groupon. read more

I followed owner Gayla from Beehive Salon in Seattle to another location in Edmonds and then on to Blush Salon. While Gayla has been my main stylist, the other stylists have welcomed me when she was on vacation or not available. I like the quaint shop that is located just above the ferry landing. The stylists have guided me in hair coloring and styles and people always ask where I get my hair done. Brazilon Blow Out with Dina at BLUSH. I've only been there once, but I plan to go back!! Dina is fantastic, she knows her stuff and is incredibly friendly. She really helped calm my nerves as I was anxious getting this type of chemical process done with my hair. My hair has always been curly and a bit unruly... so I was looking forward to getting some help!! The Blow out is Amazing!!! I would recommend it to anyone who is tired of spending hours using hair dryers, flat irons and curling irons only to have your hair poof back up like a poodle the minute you walk outside in the humidity.
