Anna is absolutely amazing! If you want something new, funky, something that is up to date and stylish go to her! Color is Anna's thing and she is a MASTER at coloring/cutting hair extensions to match your hair! I do mostly blonde with highlights now but I've also gone to black hair and back to blonde and she always makes my hair look amazing and its always healthy now that I use the products that she recommends to me. Oh and her prices are affordable! You get a good quality service with Anna!! I've been going to Anna for years and I followed her when she moved to Salon En Vogue. I recommend her to all of my friends and family, just know if you go to her you wont be disappointed. My review is based on my haircut with Julie a couple months ago. I waited a couple months to write this review because I don't want to write a review while angry. I was really disappointed with my haircut but I thought I was just overreacting. Well, judging by the look of horror I got from my friends, family, and boyfriend, I was not overreacting. I briefly considered getting hair extensions, it was that bad. It wasn't just a weird, shapeless haircut, it was also way too short. It was a shame because Julie was nice and very upbeat even though it was toward the end of the day, and I think I was her last appointment of the day. You'd think that if you were going to cut off more than half the length of someone's hair, you'd do it in stages and most definitely run it by them first. I was SHOCKED when I saw long pieces of hair on the floor, after I told her that I wanted to keep the length for the most part. The whole process was a bit chaotic, there was nothing relaxing about it at all and maybe she was rushing to close up shop, because it felt like she was a bit hyper and juggling too many things. She also lost her scissors a couple times during the process, which should've been a red flag. When she was finally done with the haircut, I think she realized what a disaster she's made out of this haircut and made a remark about how with Asian hair, you have to wait at least a week to really see it grow and take shape. What? I'd never heard that anywhere. I walked out of there with a Bruce Lee mullet, which, in case you're wondering, is not a good look on any girl, and I had a lot of choppy, uneven layers. I got a haircut elsewhere to fix the damage and moved on happily, sort of... Two months later, my anger and trauma over the Great Haircut Disaster of 2015 have definitely died down, but I'm still bitter about having to grow my hair out and having to wear this short hair every day. read more

I love Anna!!! She is the best! I have been going to her for the last couple years, before she was at Salon En Vogue. I have not had any experience with the other stylists, but I can say that Anna does an excellent job. She always listens to me and never takes creative freedom without approval. I hate when I ask for a quarter inch off and next thing I know, I see an inch and a half of my hair on the floor. Anna never takes off more than I ask!! Another thing I love is that she always takes the time to dry and style my hair. Her price is also reasonable too at $30. Lastly, two things to know about this place. First, it's kind of hidden and is in the bottom level of the building. It's in between where Chipotle is on 196th and the Starbucks. Also when I went it was check or cash only. Ok, this is my first review. This place was so bad I am actually going to take the time to do this. Start off, Julie was very nice and was able to get me in last minute, truly appreciated. I normally do my own hair but this time I wanted a certain look at wanted a professional to do it. (Wishing I have done it myself) My hair started off blonde and I wanted the red with hot pink. Seem easy since I'm going darker right, I guess NOT! First attempted my hair turned out to be a magenta color not even close to what I wanted. 2nd attempt just look like a faded red... Completely hated. After 4 hours I was ready to call it quit and do it myself in the morning but Julie offered to redo it the next day. Which I had a wedding to go do and couldn't be late too.... She says it wouldn't take long and she knows what to do to fix. So I gave it another shot. When I arrive, Julie explained what she was going to do and it was NOT what I wanted. I told her no and asked to do it a certain way for me and she just kept going about she believes it will work. I tried to make her understand by showing a few photos but she was so hooked on making it exactly like each photos that she was not understanding that I was only showing her the photos to explained the bigger picture. After 10 minutes of going back and forth I was tempted to walk out but I really needed it fix for the wedding. Didn't want to go looking like a My Lil Pony Character. So, I stayed and told her okay fine she is the professional do whatever as long as it turn out like the photo..... Needless to say No it didn't! What was worst is we both knew, If she would have done the color I picked it would have turned out fine. She made excuses that my hair was not taking colors, well you knew that from yesterday so when I said it will not work and we needed to go a shade darker why didn't you listen. She did offer to do it again but at this point I'm not going to go to someone who doesn't listen to their customers. My advise to this place is listen to your customers .... If your customers made a wrong choice than they won't feel upset at you. In this circumstance, not once did she took my advise or simply just do what I asked since I'm the one paying for it! So no, even if it is free of charge I wouldn't go back to this place. Not once did she offer me any drink the whole time I was there. Oh and the shit talking about co workers to customers was not professional! read more

I was pleased how my hair turned out I explained to her what I wanted accomplished with my hair...she was very friendly, makes you feel very comfortable and she is professional. My sister went here once last year and loved it .. we both came earlier this year and Apparently she has a new technique for a balayage that doesn't require foil but just free handing it.(brush and colour) Both our hair styles were over $300 EACH and there was visible straight horizontal lines where color starts and ends. My hair is dark brown and it turned orange . She offered to retouch it for $120 but I will not be back.. i don't have 3 more hours for another disappointment.. I trust box dye more than Julie . Anna is A-MAZING!!!!! I first went to her after someone botched my hair. I was so worried to go have it cut again because I didn't want to end up worse off. I had photos and a whole dialog worked out for what I was going to tell her and how I wanted it cut. But the second I met her I knew that she only had my best interest at heart. Remember you cannot always believe what you read on the Internet. I read the reviews and thought I would try Julie at Salon En Vogue. The reviews I read on line must have all been her friends writing them for her. Worst hair experience ever! When I called and made the appointment with Julie, I was quoted one price. However, after she found out I had been going to Gene Juarez her prices went up. The Salon is below street level, so the lighting is not very good. Once I was outside of the salon I discovered I had a two inch strip of color that went around my head and straight down the middle of my part. It looks awful. When I called Julie to see if she would fix it, she was more than willing to for a price. I went in for a partial foil and I came out looking like skunk with its stripe down the middle of its head. Save your self time and money and go to the more reputable salons. In the end you will get what you what and save money. Plus, the reputable salons they stand behind their services. read more
