I got sewn in hair extensions (added some photos beneath) put in by Nikki. I have been having shoulder pain after a bad injury and got schedule for an MRI, I was told to remove the hair extensions since the beads do have metal in it, which you can't have any metal on you when you get and MRI.
I had an appointment coming up in a week to get another row installed and to move up my other two rows. So I called and asked if she could remove the extensions I have now and to schedule another appointment after my MRI to get them re-installed. I was told by the girl working at the front desk that Nikki said that she couldn't remove them. Which I thought to be weird because she installed them, and they are easier to remove than install.
I then asked if there is anything they could do, they said another stylist could remove them but that she is booked up for months. Which I can't complain about that either. However what really made me upset was that the girl at the front desk told me to not get an MRI. I found to be very rude to say. Which I need because it is suspected that I have a torn labrum in my shoulder. I am in extreme pain and they couldn't confirm without the MRI, but the orthopedic surgeon said that there is a possibility of surgery needed to fix the tear. I cannot get surgery until I get the MRI, so I really need to remove these extensions.
I asked again if there is any possible way Nikki can remove them, I'm willing to pay anything at this point, and the answer was that Nikki cannot remove my sewn in extensions because she isn't experienced enough to do so. She doesn't know how. Which is strange that the stylist who installed them doesn't know how to remove them.
I said then that I can find someone else to take them out and if I could make an appointment in the future for Nikki to reinstall them. I was then informed that if they get taken out that I would need to buy new ones to get installed. Which is crazy because I bought them and got them reinstalled a month ago, and I bought another row to get installed and I'm not even sure if I will get refunded for the new ones that I bought and was supposed to get installed on the 25th of September. I'm not sure why they cannot reinstall them, they are the sewn in wefts.
I've had extensions before and have had them taken out and reinstalled before so Blue Iris salon doesn't seem to be very knowledgeable about sewn in extensions. At the end of the call the girl at the front desk canceled the appointment on the 25th and hung up.
I was scared that I would need to cut them out, but I called around to other salons, and the first salon I called that did extensions said she can remove them for me. She apologized to me that I had to go through that, I sent her pictures of my sewn in extensions, and said that even tho she is busy she is willing to take some time to remove them for me since they are easy to remove and won't take too long. I'm switching my services over to this new salon too and getting them reinstalled also. So I'm never going back to Blue Iris Salon ever again, because they seemed to be really unprofessional and not very knowledgeable in extensions. I really hate leaving negative reviews but this phone call and them not being willing to help me, then saying I have to buy new ones to get them but put back in seems really cheap. This isn't the first time I had extensions so this experience was really degrading to me. I was in tears calling another salon for help because I was so scared that no one would help me. But that isn't true, only Blue Iris Salon couldn't. read more
