She googled around, came up with this place, booked an eeeeearly-morning appointment, and then suddenly remembered having her hair done here before our wedding 7 years ago. Funny coincidence. We got here before we usually even have breakfast on a weekend morning. Place is already busy. Kids behind the counter are nice but honestly not much perkier than I was. The stylist was super friendly and nice. My wife's using a wheelchair for a while these days, and the sweet kid couldn't have been more gracious and helpful about it. I dig that so much. I'll say that based on the traffic I saw coming in, the clientele here doesn't seem to skew very young. Most of the gals seemed like they have kids, probably grown kids, maybe grandkids. The staff is much younger, but my wife kinda felt like her bob looked a bit dated when she was done. She did a great job otherwise and was as nice as could be. By the time we checked out, everyone (including me) seemed to have metabolized some coffee and the conversation was lively. I don't know exactly how to recommend hair salons or predict who'll like one of them more than another, but this place is solid from everything we saw this morning. read more

Best haircut I've gotten since moving back to Washington (aka best haircut I've had in Northern WA). I was a little worried that the salon is a small chain, and I've had issues with major chains. It looked nice though, so I gave it a shot. Ultimately a cut typically comes down to the stylist anyway and I was lucky to be paired with Sadie (SadieO according to the receipt). She was working through the associates program, and had just opened up her Thursdays to style on her own, so when I didn't have anyone specific to request, she was the one with openings. She was so welcoming, so sweet and friendly. All I knew was that I wanted to chop a lot of hair off, and she helped make sure I had the perfect length, cutting bit by bit until we got it just right. She would ask me questions and when I didn't have much of a preference would give me a suggestion (which I pretty much always took) and just made me feel alright being as clueless as I was. The price came out to an even $80 including the 20% tip I left, which is a pretty good price for a salon cut especially as someone who was labeled 'XL' hair length. I am beyond thrilled with my experience with Kjirsti at the Mill Creek location. After 2 visits she was able to take my pandemic hair mess to a total transformation at the highest level of integrity and results. The challenge was to take my damaged and dark brown hair with 30% grey and blend in highlights + tone meanwhile allowing me to continue to embrace my greying hair, but keeping the look fresh and trendy. From the beginning, she has been honest, offered thoughtful advice, and thoroughly explained the entire process on how we can achieve my hair color goals. Even after highlights, my hair felt and remained at the best texture and condition as it could be. Kjirsti is delightful and all who works at this salon. I can't recommend Elle Marie enough. I've been a long time client, seeing multiple different stylists over approximately ten years. I've never once had a bad experience. My current stylist is Megan. I've been seeing her consistently for about 4 years. She isn't just my stylist anymore; she's my friend. During my appointments, we talk and catch up to the point of me almost losing my voice. Her technical skills are fantastic, and I always lay my trust in her because I know she knows exactly what to do. She always lifts me up and I leave the salon so much happier than I arrived. Her product expertise is spot on, and she is reliable and all around a great stylist and person. Recently, Megan left on maternity leave, so after things opened back up, I've seen both Kjirsti and Molly. I can't say enough great things about these ladies! Both made me feel right at home, read Megan's notes about what she usually uses on me, and their talent was equally phenomenal. I love both of them and I loved my hair both times. I don't think it's a fluke that I always get a great cut and color here. Elle Marie only hires the best. Also, I can attest that SanJuana does a fantastic job on men's cuts. She has been cutting my husband's hair after his last stylist left, and I love the way she cuts it and styles it. I'm thankful he has found someone who will just do what looks right on him, because the good Lord knows he wasn't getting it right on his own. Finally, as an ER nurse actively treating COVID patients, I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed with how Elle Marie has handled COVID after reopening. I feel safe and it an ultra clean environment. Everyone takes it very seriously, there's tons of new safety measures in place, and I'm just so appreciative of the business owners and stylists who do their part to make sure everyone is well taken care of and stays healthy. My son and I got hair cuts here several weeks ago. I'm pretty specific about my hair cut needs. Our stylist didn't really pass the vibe check - it was awkward and a little bit of a struggle, but nobodies fault. I asked for a 4 on the back and sides. She cut my hair with scissors. So not a 4. And it grew out very badly - no surprise. It was too long. My son is a squirmer, but she did a nice job on his hair for the most part. Sadly she barely took anything off, and he needed a haircut again a few weeks later. We won't be coming back. I wish them well. Just not a good fit. read more

Booking was great. I actually called Woodinville location first but they did not have an appointment since I was booking pretty last minute (one week out). Woodinville took the time to check other locations near me and booked me in at Mill Creek! I spent today getting my hair done with Rhielynn. She did incredible work! I have taken this exact inspiration photo to many stylists who just threw in some highlights and didn't touch my natural color. Rhielynn really took the time to make sure I got what I wanted (as you can see because the after photos look so close to the inspiration photo!) Love love love! read more

First off, firm believer in salons who have a entire staff that does good work. As a yelper- it does me no good to have some people at a salon who are extremely talented, and some people who are bottom of the salon chain. Particularly when it's my first visit there. When you can find a salon with high ratings, that are consistent-and state that all of the staff there do you go to work it's a golden nugget. That being said, I had never heard of this salon, but after doing some research found that, there are two other locations nearby me. Those being the Lynnwood location, and the Woodinville location. It looks like Lynnwood has good ratings, this Bothell Everett location has good ratings, and not far behind, the Woodenville location also seems to have fine ratings. So that speaks a lot to their training and hiring. I would recommend finding a location near you, and allowing them the chance to do your hair. I am going to give them five stars for their customer service, and while it might not be that important, I also wanted to emphasize how great each and every phone call I had with multiple locations were. #FrontDeskIsRepresenting I ended up doing the bothell Everett location for convenience sake. I respect the way they treat their customers, and while it's not the fanciest salon I have ever been in, I do think it's clean, simple, and attentive. Additionally, the owners/owner of the locations goes out of her way to do the right thing. I was impressed with the way they communicate and follow up with customers. April (Alderwood) was my hair stylist and she was fabulous. I feel like I found "the one" she picked out the perfect hair color for my skin tone which I have been struggling with for a REALLY long time as I'm not too cool and not too warm. The is a bit late since I'm scheduled for my next appointment tomorrow, but I wanted to post a review from my very first time at this salon. I've been going through the long process of growing out my grey hair from having dyed it black for decades. I'd already come through the worst of it with another hairdresser, having started the process by bleaching which led to a tremendous amount of breakage and "blorange" that could not be toned at all due to the fact that the hair didn't get lifted to a light enough base and it was badly damaged (caveat: in no way was that the hairdresser's fault. I knew the risks and chose to have her do it anyway). But my hair finally started growing again and I needed a haircut pretty badly ... and I wanted it ASAP! So, one day while browsing Instagram I noticed that Elle Marie has a TON of pictures on their page with several styles that I loved. So I booked the first available appointment and took my chances. Andrea was the stylist that I had my first appointment with and she was absolutely fantastic. All I had was a shampoo and haircut, but my hair looked like a million bucks when I left! She recommended a plan that I can live with to keep some of the length that I've worked so hard to grow back while we worked on chopping out the last of the blorange. I went in with my friend and I have to say, I have Never been more appalled by how grown women acted towards an individual. From snotty attitudes from the front desk, who's cell phone was obviously more important than customer service, to the "Head Stylist" who belittled my friend and almost brought her to tears. Basically bullying her into paying for a service after she told my friend the style she wanted would look horrible on her. Instead of letting her go, the stylist said if she left she would be wasting her time she had blocked out, and wouldn't be making any money....seriously? For a place that should be making women feel comfortable and beautiful, especially at their ridiculous prices you'd think they would be more professional, and not make people with appointments wait while gossiping about fellow co workers. I had a great experience with Sara J., she was very sweet and skilled she knew exactly what I wanted and did an excellent job, I was very nervous for someone to touch my hip length hair and she did a great job on my haircut with long layers and face framing pieces I will be back to see her specifically in the future. Elle Marie has been recommended to me from friends and family and I have come back on and off for 8 years different stylists every time they are all very talented. Highly recommend. An excellent experience from start to finish. Phoned for an appointment and was greeted by a pleasant professional who got me scheduled quickly and easily. Got text and email reminders, which is always a good idea. Arrived at the studio, had temperature taken and got some hand sanitizer. Maggie, my stylist, asked what I wanted, gave me her ideas, and made it easy and comfortable. Quick shampoo & scalp massage, hair cut well and chat pleasant but not overly personal (like some places I've been to). Do not come here if you're blonde or want to be blonde. My first time coming here, I called to make the appointment and was very specific about what I wanted. When I got there for my root touch up, overall blonde refresh and slight root shadow, she only did my roots (and did a lazy job at that, there were many orange spots) and did a VERY DARK gloss. Then, when I went it for my re-do, I explained again what I wanted and she refused to fix anything that wasn't my ends. I wouldn't have had a problem with that but she said she would do a gloss and promised me I would leave blonde. I left even darker than the first appointment and now I have to go to another salon and pay more to fix what they did. I am so upset with how I was treated. read more

This was the first and last time I had visited to this saloon. My experience was really bad. Whatever I asked the stylist to do she did exactly opposite to it. As I have a curly hair so I asked her to keep it a bit long and in a layers, but she cut my hairs really short and in the same length. Because of this I am not able to do even a pony tail now. After my google review the Manager of the saloon called me and apologized to me and fixed me with correction appointment. But later I realized the new stylist will cut my hair more to correct them, so I decided to cancel the appointment. I called at the saloon and asked her to cancel my appointment and I said the experience was really bad and I will never come back to this place and she Rudely said to me "then have a nice day" and she cut my call.. I did a keratin treatment end of February, very disappointed. I have done keratin smoothing before , This time it seemed like the product did not set in at all. I spent 440$ for this treatment and my hair actually looks more damaged. I would not suggest this place for keratin treatment. read more

I have received a partial balayage with red from this establishment before that turned out great. Recently I was seen by Michelle who performed the same treatment. It looked fine when I left. I'm a mom of 4 so my hair is up a lot. A couple weeks later, I straightened it out and noticed the underside of my hair was definitely not red. It's like only parts of the crown of my head are red. I paid $400 for this whole treatment. She did 2 toners and it definitely was not what it normally looked like. I contacted them and was told by the manager I was out of their two week window for an adjustment but to call back to discuss. I didn't bother calling back. I'm not paying any more money to them. I will never go back. They are overpriced and my hair looks like someone at a beauty college did it. I also think it's funny the owner is posting on here like she cares but clearly doesn't. I don't care if I'm outside your "two week window". I'm a busy mom and it was during the holidays. It should be fixed free of charge. ESPECIALLY since you charged me $200 for TWO toners. I am without a regular stylist, mine moved out of state recently, so I needed to try out someone new. I'm very picky about my hair, so very nervous after having the same stylist for 6 years. I decided to go back to Gene Juarez, figuring they are heavily staffed and have a good rep. Today was my appointment. They called me and cancelled because my stylist called in sick and they had no one to take her appointments. After having a minor panic attack, I called Elle Marie in Mill Creek. Have never been here before, saw them in a Google search. Could not have had a better experience. I didn't get the name of the receptionist, but she was so nice and helpful. She found a stylist who had a spot for a cut today, and searched the schedules of their other locations to find me the soonest available appointment for a partial foil. I had my cut today with Sami, who did a great job. She took a great deal of care with my hair, gave me a style that I liked, and was fun to chat with. She was very thorough, but had me in and out in the right amount of time. Even though I still need to get my foil done, Sami's cut made me feel much better about my hair right now!
