Until my last appointment I've been pleased with my hair cuts. Now not so much. All I had asked for was a light trim. What I got is a very uneven haircut. Even tho I told the beautician what I wanted she didn't seem to listen. I told her that I wanted the hair in back mid neck. It's much shorter. I wanted the hair in front to cover the tip of the ear. I don't think I've ever had such a great time getting my hair done. In the past I have been nervous and not very relaxed talking about my vision. With Andy I no longer have to worry about that. ANDY is the most attentive, patient, honest and trustworthy stylist I've dealt with. He's super funny and just an all around great stylist that makes you feel so comfortable and confident about your styling ideas, and without deflating your dreams he talks to you about what would work best with your hair and how to get it there. So i finally came back, after 6 months of growing my hair out: not on purpose, but because BOTH stylists i formerly had at Lorinda's disappeared, and also because i never seemed to have the spare cash to get my hair done again. Well, i got really bloody tired of having to wear my hair curly (its frustrating natural state) pigtails every day. I have a wedding to go to this weekend, also, and would look ridiculous with frizzy pigtails in formal attire I knew that finding another salon would be a frightening, almost-definitely-fatal experience that would further solidify my fear of getting my hair cut. So i decided to give Lorinda's another shot, remembering how well they treated me in the past, and how patient they are with salonophobes who can never make up their minds. They booked me the same day I called (although in the amount of time it took for me to wait on hold, my hair had grown another inch), and set me up with a girl named Rachel. From the moment i walked in, from the desk girl to the other stylists, i was being greeted and smiled at. I was a little early, but Rachel took me in anyway. I instantly liked her. She was my 3rd stylist here, and all of them have been really good at finding that fine line between annoying unnecessary chitchat and stony, awkward silence. They have been good at establishing a comfortable, amicable relationship with their customers. Well, i was really struggling to explain what i wanted. I brought in celebrity photos for ideas, but of course, i am not Vanessa Hudgens and never will be...so Rachel had to find a way to manipulate my frizzy, curly hair into a style that was realistic. There was a lot of consultation and discussion, without a rushed feeling (under which i can NOT operate - i hate pressure!). I'll cut this short for your sake. It took a LONG time, because we just kind of kept doing a little more and a little more as we went along, so that nothing drastic or irreversible was done. I felt comfortable piping up and saying, "No, not like that...ok, a little more here....see, i want this to poof out...." Not once did Rachel get short with me, or take it personally. I NEVER have felt comfortable involving myself in my haircuts like i have at Lorinda's, and i'm glad all the stylists i've had have had the same interactive and patient quality. Rachel even let our appointment go over into a meeting she had with her boss! Maybe that was lucky for both of us. Oh, and during my styling, the receptionist (the cute red-head with the bob) sat down next to us to record what Rachel was doing, which is helpful for next time. And she brought me some coffee just the way i wanted it. At the end of my styling (and after allowing me to ask for "just one more thing" to fix), i got what i wanted. Well, actually, i still wasn't sure if i wanted to go shorter or not. I needed to go home and see how it worked outside of the salon. Rachel agreed and invited me to come in for free touch-ups and bang trims whenever, taking the pressure off me to either get it all done THAT moment or book an entirely separate appointment (and more $$). The trim/styling (she straightened it for me, used some product, and everything) only set me back $49. I was offered the products she used, but was not pressured further when i said i didn't have the funds at the moment. Oh, and after i got home, i realized how pleased i am with my hair. I posted before/after photos in the album here, so you can see for yourself. If you've got curly hair, Rachel (who is also a curly girl) is a safe bet. I can wear my hair curly or straight with this cut. She knows a lot of tips and tricks as well. *joy read more

Did my french shellac today (5 hours ago) And I was changing my clothes, one nail just came off. Really... 5 hours? I usually have my shellac for about 10 days. I hate to give these guys a negative review but I can't get past the haircut and the price. I did give a positive review at first but I can't update it. On the positive side, I love the color. The color came out great so I couldn't give this just one star. I can't get past the cut though. I have curly hair and specifically go here to get a Devacurl cut, which they advertise they do. They DO cut your hair dry, but when they do your layers, they pull your curls straight with their hands and THEN cut. From what I understand they are supposed to cut with the curl, not pull it to straighten it out. Then to make matters worse they towel dry your hair which makes it super frizzy. Even applying the devacurl product they recommended didn't help. I had to re-wash it when I got home to fix it (this happened both times I've gone in and I always have to fix it at home). It cost over $300 for the color and devacurl cut together which seems crazy! I won't name the hairdresser on here because I actually really like them as a person and don't want to upset them or bash them at all because it might be just my experience.. what they do might work for some but I won't be going back. read more

I have been going here for almost 10 years off and on when my schedule has allowed. I am very particular about my hair and I don't like to trust just anyone to cutting or coloring it. I have tried a few stylist there and have always left happy. I went in a few days ago for a cut. It had been sometime since I was in last. I forgot that I had refered a friend to a stylist there (who she loved as well) and they had a $25 credit there waiting for me for doing so. Added bonus to my day! I would recommend them to anyone (as I clearly already have). I plan on going back soon for some hair color. read more

I made an appointment with Adium for my daughter to get a haircut. Showed up on time. Was greeted by another stylist and was informed that Adium would not be cutting my daughter's hair because she was focusing on skin care from now and that the stylist that greeted us would be the one cutting her hair. Next time a courtesy call would be nice. So we aren't put on the spot and go out of our way to make our appointment on time. Very unprofessional. We won't be going back again. read more

I had my first hair cut at Lorinda's and it was certainly not my last. I called for an appointment and was scheduled within a half hour!!! For me, that is very important because I don't always know my schedule. I had the pleasure to get Dailynne as my stylist, she is so sweet. She really understood what I wanted and asked me questions about how I normally take care of my hair (ex. air dry vs. blow dry techniques). Just as we were finishing up another girl came to take some notes on my hair for future reference if I want to recreate it and I thought that was a great idea for someone else to be taking the notes while the customer is there since the stylists see so many people in a day. She also took note of what product Dailynne used. When I went to check out the front desk ladies had written down the products used in my hair on a business card and had them sitting there waiting for me if I chose to buy them! (I did). They also gave me a welcome pack with referral cards that give my referral and I $25 off! I just have to say, I am so impressed with this salon and will go back not just for haircuts, but to also try their other salon packages. read more

I have been going to Lorrinda's for a few months now. They have helped my hair become soft and not dry and it is now beautiful . I really like the atmosphere at Lorinda's. I've had a hard time finding a place I can go and get a really good hair cut without feeling out of place at a pretentious salon. I was comfortable here, and I felt like my concerns were listened to and I was given a great experience. These 5 stars are specifically for designer Holly. I went in for the 2nd time this week and was just so blessed my her. The shampoo and conditioner was nothing short of amazing. She massaged my scalp and spent a good amount of time washing. That was worth the price right there! I described the cut I wanted and she asked several times during the process about it. "Is this length good?" "Is this where you part?", etc. I can so infrequently get my hair cut that this is a time for me to relax. She talked the perfect amount without getting in my space or being too chatty. My cut was $40 before tip. I really like how Lorinda's has a rewards program that allows you to earn points for services. And the location is easy in and out in an otherwise busy Mill Creek. read more

I went in for a haircut and the cut itself was alright. Not as many layers as I prefer, but it was even and the stylist was professional enough. She didn't talk much so I just stared at her in the mirror...which was as awkward as it sounds. However, it took her soooooooo long to blow dry my hair. My hair is somewhat thin and only down to my mid-back; it took 45 minutes just to blow dry! It was clean there and the staff was very friendly but I just couldn't believe I was there for 2 hours for a haircut. It was about $30 for a haircut. read more

I saw Sammi a couple of months ago for highlights and a cut. It was my first time at Lorinda's as I recently moved to the area. She did a fantastic job and recommended some stellar hair products. I went in recently again for a bang trim and she was nice enough to do it free of charge. She also gave me some great tips regarding bangs upkeep. Worst partial I have ever had. Color was wrong. The stylist did not even come close to the roots which is what I told her was why I was there. She did not come close to the color I had...just bleached away. She tried to correct a very apparent error and made it worse. I do not like to complain but actually mentioned my disappointment at the front desk and all that was offered was a correction if I come back in within 10 days. This did nothing for me since there is no way I will ever walk in there again. Had to go to another salon to correct. They are way overpriced and the stylist I had was not qualified. I really like Lorinda's Salon Spa so far! The services I've gotten done so far are: shellac removal (where I learned a lot about shellac and the different brands of it) and full leg sugaring. I will say I have never consistently gotten waxed (or sugared), and was a bit nervous. But in an attempt to take better care of the skin on my legs (razors, be gone!), I made a sugaring appointment. Some background: the last time I tried sugaring (at Sugared Beauty Lounge), I had a terrible experience, physically, and emotionally. But Lorinda's is a completely different experience. Family-owned (yes, Lorinda is there almost every day), the staff feels like family, and I feel like a genuinely welcomed guest. While sugaring/waxing is not a pleasurable service (as every dry-skinned, stubborn-haired person will tell you), I still enjoyed the experience because of Adiam's friendliness. We spoke about everything, from my concerns about how to handle my thick hairs, to the meaning of her beautiful name. I will go to her from now on, on my quest to healthier skin! She also does facials, so I will definitely look into that with her as well. Another thing that's great about the staff there is they are cross-trained in different disciplines. For example, everyone (stylists, colorists, aestheticians) knows how to do all the administrative work, too. Because of that, everyone is involved in the way the business works. I find that is a very smart way to run a business. There isn't some divide between administrative staff and creative staff, where nobody knows what's going on. I say that because I've often experienced that at places like Gene Juarez. Anyway, all in all, I really like this place and look forward to getting more services done with them. read more

Absolutely enjoyed my first visit to Lorinda's Salon! I do not frequent salons and as a result, my hair had grown very long. It was unruly and never appeared to be styled. That all changed after receiving a haircut from Kelsey! She clearly cares about her clients and makes great efforts to ensure their comfort. She asked insightful questions, had focused attention and skillfully carved a wonderful style out of a mess of hair. I am thrilled with the results. This salon has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Low-volume music and sounds of various pleasant conversations provided the background for one of the most relaxing haircuts I can remember. Lorinda's has mastered the art of good business in offering outstanding customer service, quality hair care products and a team of high caliber, professional stylists. I need to write this as I was laughing after I hang up. So it is 11:27 am today and I called for a haircut for my daughter and asked for the cost. I was thinking in Bellevue is about 25.00 so this place is in Mill Creek and it can't be more than that. When I called she told me if you come at 520pm with I don't remember her name will be 36.00. I said is too late. She says if you come with ... at 330pm it will cost 29.00. I told her I was thnking something now ( 1130). She tells me if is with .......it will be 43.00 at 1210 pm. As she is telling me this I am thinking why will they charge base in who is cutting the hair? I told her politely I will have to call you back. Give me a break! I went to another place had them give my 3 year old a bobby cut style and it was 13.00 including tax! read more

I have been coming to this salon since we moved to this area 7 months ago. It is a bit pricier than what I was used to, but I also have to admit that Kayte does an excellent job with my coloring! She has never disappointed and I have been happy with every visit. I once got a blow dry from another stylist that also left me leaving the salon with a big smile on my face and a boost of confidence :) (As it should be!) However, today's experience at Lorinda's left me more than disappointed. Kayte had informed me prior to my visit that she wouldn't be able to style my hair, since she had another appointment. This wasn't a big issue to me, since I was just glad she had squeezed me in and I had gotten an excellent blow out/styling from another stylist on another occasion. Unfortunately, the blow dry I received from her fellow stylist was anything BUT professional this morning. I love getting my hair done, because the styling usually lasts two days and leaves me with no hassle at home. This time around, I can honestly say that I do a MUCH better job myself as a non-professional :/ When I informed the stylist that I did not like it she just shrugged her shoulders. No further attempts at fixing it. I am not a big fan of confrontations and headed to the front desk to pay. When I informed them as well that I wasn't happy with the styling and that they please pass this on to Kayte, they gave me a meek "sorry." I am a bit baffled that they even let me walk out of there looking as I did (some sections not curled at all, frizziness everywhere, no overall volume, but patches of hairspray where she tried to tease my hair for volume... :/ at the hair dresser this has never happened to me before). If I wouldn't be so embarrassed I would post the pictures I took after leaving the salon, because my sisters as well as my hubby slightly cringed when they saw me. I am not one to make a scene, but it bothers me that when I raised my concerns they were just shrug off even by the receptionist. I am seriously considering finding another salon, because the experience left me with such a bitter feeling. :/ read more

It wasn't removed by me so it must have been removed by Yelp. This site is a joke. The very thing it is supposed to provide it fails to do so. Am new to the area and was looking for a full service salon! Lorinda's salon met all my expectations. Friendly staff - they have a team approach so I got to interact with a lot of the staff so I can tell you they all are great. Lisa gave me a great facial, Katie colored, Andy completed my blowout, and I had a mani/pedi with Angie. I remember everyone's name because they were friendly and made me feel welcome - I was there for over 3 hours. Lorinda even brought me a snack. Lorinda's provides a great customer experience. I've been going to Lorinda's for about 5 years. In that time I've seen 5 different stylists, but I regularly see Rachel. I LOVE this place. I've never walked out unhappy with my cut and color. My husband also goes here and my 8 year old daughter, and their cuts are always great as well. Kayte has been fantastic as well. They are a little more cost wise but I consider it worth it when I consistently walk out happy. I moved to the Eastside a month ago and I will still be coming to them. She explains everything she will be doing and includes me with everything being done. We have this magical conversation the entire time. When I leave, anyone at the front desk will say good bye. Great salon that really walks the walk. From the time you walk in the door to the time you leave, you are appreciated as a customer. I really like my stylist too. If you're considering trying the DevaCurl products and cut, I highly recommend this place. While I only have wavy hair and wasn't a good candidate for the special Deva cut, my stylist did pick out the best products for my hair type, showed me how to use them and I couldn't be happier.
