Had such a great experience! I got a few spa week gift cards for Christmas and wanted to try something a little different from the classic massage. I booked the "Look Better Naked" package, which consisted of a sauna session, body scrub, and wrap. First, I was led to a private changing room to leave my items, grab my robe and slippers, and get ready. Then I went in the infrared sauna for 30 minutes and was able to take breaks and grab water in my own secluded area. Rachel met me here when the time was up and we did my scrub! She dry brushed me first, then wet scrubbed, followed by a full rinse (my first time being rinsed laying down- honestly kinda fun). She was thorough and had great knowledge of lymphatic drainage! Rachel also checked in with me from time to time to see if the pressure was okay or if anything was sensitive. Post-scrub, I went to wait in the relaxation room. There was an old man in jeans and sneakers in there trying to make conversation with me while I was in a robe, which I hated. But not a reflection of the business, just an odd place for him to be. Next I did a mud wrap which was warming and honestly comfy while Rachel gave me an amazing head massage. I got rinsed again, then covered in lotion, and was ready to go! My skin was baby soft after the treatment and I felt so good. The front desk staff and Rachel were all lovely and I can't wait to return! I do wish they had online scheduling, as it was challenging at times to reach over the phone. But they were flexible and able to get me in quickly. read more

I wanted a pedicure at a spa in hopes that I would have a more high end experience if I paid more. All I got was a more expensive pedicure service and I should have stuck with the regular Vietnamese nail salon that I usually go to. The nail lady is very nice but my shellacs turned out messy and the experience wasn't luxurious if above what you get at any nail salon. The front desk wasn't very professional and didn't recognize it's my first time and I didn't know my way around. I won't be back for a pedicure and upset I paid for something that felt like it should be a $25 service, I paid twice that and an upgrade for shellac of $16. Someone please train the girl at the front desk. She seemed to not know what to say things like "how was your service?" This is a solid spa, providing a lot of good services. I went several times in their old location and recently went to the new space. While the new building is not in as nice of a setting, the location is actually very convenient and the spa is beautiful inside. They have completely designed the interior with everything needed for a comfortable & serene spa experience. On my last visit, I had a body scrub, facial & massage. If you get that same package, I recommend getting the scrub either first or second so that you don't end your relaxing time by getting wet. Unfortunately I forgot who worked on me, but the same lady did the scrub and facial, then someone else did the massage. All were great. I will definitely be back. read more

Such an amazing massage. Jonathan greeted me then walked me back to the room. I loved the decor of the spa, elegant and sophisticated. The room was dimly lit, warm, with soothing music. Jonathan asked me if there were specific needs that I needed addressed...I work all day at a computer and was feeling stiff and sore, especially in the shoulders. Before he began Jonathan also asked how much pressure I could tolerate, I said I didn't want to leave battered and bruised, but I could take a bit of pressure. Jonathan left me to get undressed and lay down on the warm table...nice touch. My interpretation of a bit of pressure and his was a bit different. The massage was intense, just shy of painful, but so very necessary. Jonathan found all of my tight muscles and worked them out. The hour long massage left me feeling so very good despite the intensity. I need to do this more often. And luckily this spa is close by, and I would love to see some of their other services. read more

The nail tech didn't do my cuticle nor did she scrape my feet. She argued with me when I said I wanted my cuticles done & told me to apply cuticle oil instead. So why would I need a spa for that?? She argued with me & didn't agree to apply gel on my toes & applied the normal nail paint. She said she won't scrape feet as the dead skin would come back again. Isn't that the whole point of coming to a spa. Worst thing is she applied nail paint for my fingers & then did the scrub. I hated every second of my stressful spa day. I made a same day appointment online. I didn't get a confirmation email or text, but when I logged in to my account, the appointment was there, so I headed over. When I get there, it's a kind of shady area, trash all over the parking lot and vacant office building next door. The door was locked and no one was there. I tried calling, but no one answered, so I left a message. I tried to cancel my appointment, but since it was after it was supposed to start, it was now listed as past appointments and I couldn't cancel it. About 10 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start, someone let me in, but he was an acupuncturist who shared office space and didn't know anything about my appointment. He called the owner and I looked at my appointment again and now it had disappeared. Apparently the owner told the acupuncturist that no one was there even though both the website and door of the building said they were open from 10am-8pm today and the appointment was for noon. I don't know why I was able to make an appointment online if they were closed, but all around this was a pretty crappy experience on my birthday. Hopefully my credit card is refunded! I won't be back and wouldn't recommend using their online booking. read more

This is the second time I am editing my river over the years. I called for half of September trying to schedule their fall special pedicure, no answer whenever I call. Then, over the past week, I was calling to schedule massages, which I felt more comfortable scheduling with a person vs online, and, after a week of no answer, I left a message, with no call back. I finally got through to a human, who seemed to indicate that nothing is wrong and they don't owe me a call back. It's just sad that they don't value their customers at all. I am at a loss of why Amai's customer service took such a downturn. read more

Absolute lack of customer service. Rude front desk, phone never gets answered, service is nonexistent. When I brought this up with their front desk, they were unapologetic and quite rude and acted like I was a nuisance. I have patronized this spa since they were in the Village, but this may be it. Rebecca is amazing! I had my first retinol chemical peel and my skin looks and feels amazing! I initially went there for microneedling services but after evaluating my skin, Rebecca recommended a peel and didn't think microneedling was the best option. I am so happy I listened to her, my concerns before (mild acne scars and redness) is gone!! This was the best peel I've ever had, you definitely see the results and there was no burning sensation at all like other peels. I have to be honest, you definitely want to plan on staying home for a week because your skin will shed but the results are so worth it! read more

At my appointment the color difference was noted and I made an appointment to go back the following day for a polish change, I pre-paid for this additional service upon check out. When I arrived for my pre-paid polish change appointment I was told the time was double booked and I could come back in 2 hours. I should say I did get a discount off one of the original services due to the fact that a gel mani/pedi took 2.5 hours... I was not able to get a refund for the pre-paid polish change. Have really enjoyed my services at this day spa. I've had 2 massages, a body scrub and a facial here at different times, and I have enjoyed all the services to date. The business is located in the Country Village shopping village in Bothell, and is a cute cottage tucked away on the far corner of the shopping village. There is parking right outside. I like this place because the staff are always really friendly, and I find that the services are very personal and good value for money. They also sell a selection of the products they use, but I like that they are not sales people, so I never have products pushed on me, so I can just focus on the services that I am getting! The massages have been my favorite, because they listen to what pressure you enjoy. The facial was very nice too, and didn't give me any weird breakouts or sensitivity issues, yay! The body scrub was a weird experience, just not for me, others may enjoy it though! The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, is because it is a small cottage vibe, you can sometimes hear conversations in the next room, which can distract when trying to enjoy a massage, the walls are not very sound proof! Overall, a great little spa, and have never had an issue with the staff or my experience. read more

I visited here once quite a few years ago when they were in country village, but hadn't been back since they moved to the new location. They send a birthday coupon if you are on their mailing list, so I took advantage of that to make a return visit. I had their "look better naked" package which involves a body scrub, a wrap of your choice, and a moisturizing treatment. I had a really lovely time and the technician was even able to get me in for a pedicure which I wished I'd booked originally to top off my treatment. The facility is tucked behind a gas station so kind of hard to find, but it's very beautiful inside! The Vichy shower is great and the rooms are lovely. I don't know how I only 3 starred this place. I was a young yelper then, I apparently didn't know any better. In more ways than one, the last few weeks have been trying, and this weekend provided a whole lot of release, relaxation and activity that left me wanting a bit more of the relaxation part. I swung in unannounced this am and was able to squeeze in for a quick massage. Dear God, thank you for that. Happily washed away where I was sore from a weekend of 'activity' and left me with that noodley high I was craving. My hubby gave me the Living Social deal for Amai Day Spa. I was so excited. Scheduling was a breeze. The person who answered asked my day/time preferences, and said she would call me when she finished coordinating my various treatments. I expected to hear back in a couple hours. But less than 5 minutes later, she called back. I was all set for my big spa day! Her friendliness and efficiency was refreshing. Other spas act put out when I ask to schedule multiple treatments. But the woman I spoke to handled it like a pro. I spent nearly 3 1/2 hours at Amai Day today. Pure heaven. Everyone was genuinely friendly and attentive. At some spas, I've felt pushed from treatment to treatment and out the door. I never felt rushed at Amai. I arrived and was greeted with a smile & offered a beverage. I changed into a comfy bathrobe and sandals. My first stop was a body scrub. Wow. I've had a few body scrubs in my day. They were all underwhelming- dry, scratchy, uncomfortable. The treatment at Amai Day included a Vichy shower. Heavenly. The water was warm, the scrub was invigorating. I was massaged and lotioned until my skin was baby soft. As I waited in a cozy nook for my next treatment, I was given another beverage. A few minutes later, I was whisked away for my massage. Wanda...What can I say about Wanda? Well, for starters, she's amazing! She listened to my requests. She used her extensive knowledge and experience to ensure my massage was both therapeutic (my neck and shoulders are like boulders) and relaxing. After another short wait and another glass of citrusy water, Libby, my aesthetician, led me to a comfortable room for my facial. Again, another attentive, knowledgeable staff member who listened to my concerns and requests. She shared helpful hints and offered useful advice without overwhelming me with a bunch of chatter. You know, the aestheticians who try to sell you every product. The ones who talk the entire time. Yuck. Well, not at Amai Day Spa. Libby was perfect, informative when she needed to be, soothing and quiet at just the right times. And what a face massage. Soooo nice! At the end of my day of true pampering, I felt completely spoiled and satisfied. My skin was soft, my muscles relaxed, my face glowing. Amai Day Spa is my new favorite place. I came from out of town for a wedding and needed a lash fill from a bad job somewhere else. I called around 4:30 in the afternoon on a Friday and they were able to fit me in at 9am the next morning. I was so appreciative that they penciled me in so last minute on a Saturday no less! And that they we're willing to fill in someone else's (less than stellar) work. The front lobby smells amazing and is very relaxing, they offer water and tea while you wait. Everything is clean and beautiful! Amai spa might be in Bothell (so not Ballard:) and in a small house (so not Habitude:) and it is located in Bothell Village. Do not be fooled by simplicity because their treatments are world class and very much Habitude like. I bought a groupon, only after I checked yelp reviews, and it was the best deal I have ever gotten for hydrodermabrasion. I had two beauticians, first one was Russian (sorry I forgot her name), and I would go back to her at any time. Her style and work is perfect for spa. Her hands are so soft, the products she used are high quality and the treatment itself is almost like having a massage and you do get a nice, short neck massage too. The other woman was nice, did a great job, but she was not as good as the Russian woman. Not sure what is with Russians and spas, but by golly they do great job. After three hydrodermabrasions my pores were tiny in comparison to before treatments. My fine lines are finer and my deep line in the middle of my forehead is not reaching glacial depths yet. It is $135 a treatment without any discount. It is worth every penny. I need one, once a month to maintain it, but I would highly recommend starting with several treatments (like three a month) because then you can really see the difference right away. Also, there are lots of super cute shops, tea shop that serves English high tea, and South Carolina style BBQ house. Slowly smoked chicken is to die for, did not have any other foods. read more

With that said, I have never felt more welcomed or in such capable hands as I am when I frequent Amai Day Spa. I first visited for a pedicure. It was lovely. Relaxing, comfy chairs, attentive staff refreshing my hot tea; bliss. I got engaged a while ago, and knew I needed to tackle my chronic acne problem before my big day. I met with an aesthetician, Julie, explained my situation and we formed a treatment plan. I never felt forced or obligated to purchase any treatments or products, but she certainly helped me to understand the pros and cons of everything so that I could make an educated decision and feel comfortable with it. After a series of chemical peels and blue light treatments my acne is under control and I am over the moon thrilled. All of the staff is friendly and always cheerful. They work as a team and it is evident that they enjoy their job. They know me by name and I am treated like part of their "family." It's great to feel like I am cared about, and that they are equally vested in the outcome of my treatments. read more

Its hard to hate a spa....... This place was amazing!!! Upon entering you automatically begin to relax. The decor is well done and the music is very inviting. Like most spas it smelled wonderfully relaxing and again my favorite feature is they use organic products! I was warmly greeted and crawled into a fluffy bathrobe before beginning my amazing mud wrap and Vichy shower! I also had a full body massage, but the Moor Mud Wrap was the best thing I experienced there. The prices are a little steep, but it is too be expected when pampering yourself this lavishly. OMG This place was amazing! I was lucky to be able to use the infamous Groupon and book services 3 weeks out. From the time I entered from when I left I was treated with kindness and the staff was friendly and attentive. I started with a body scrub which was great since I had never had one before. Each time I transitioned from one treatment to the next I was offered water or tea which was great. The only problem was since the wait in between services was about 2 minutes I didn't have a chance to enjoy my tea. Oh well :) The massage was amazing and one of the best I've had. I also had a scalp treatment with this massage which I don't think I would have booked on my own had it not been for the groupon, it was something I could have done myself. For me, the best part was the facial which put me to sleep and made my skin feeling really soft and really clean. I was thoroughly impressed and will be coming back for another one. This spa is clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It is definitely a place I will be going back to when I need a day of bliss. read more

A great family friend, Cheryl, recommended Amai Day Spa to us many years ago because she knew the owner. My mother had gone for a few massages, but I had never been until a few weeks ago. I was at Bothell Country Village and decided to walk in and see if I could get my brows done. They had space for both my mother and I to get our brows waxed and tinted. We both had our brows done by Jenn and they are AWESOME. She was great about not waxing too much and then touching up areas as requested. She even worked with my eyebrow ring because I had told her that a lot of places mess them up because of it. She was awesome and I will definitely be coming back to her in a couple more weeks for another tint/wax. She was also able to talk to me about my upcoming wedding next year (2012) and how early I should have any spa treatments to avoid breakouts, which was great. She was extremely helpful. Prior to my service I had been asking if any of the staff did chair massage because I just wanted like a 15-20 minute neck massage, due to an old car crash injury that bothers me. They weren't quite sure since it wasn't a service they offered, but when I came out from getting my brows done they had figured out a great deal for a 15 minute neck massage. So it was great because I went ahead and did that as well. I plan to continue going to Amai day spa for the massages and the waxing and I'm looking into getting some other spa services. They are probably one of the greatest spa's in the area. They are clean, have friendly staff, were willing to work with me on my massage request which wasn't the normal hour long massage, and I was very pleased with all my services there. It's hard to believe that all these years later I'm still a monthly client, but they have worked hard to keep me. Jaime, part owner, even considers my tastes when she's hiring a new staff member (and she almost always gets it right!). I have never once been "up sold" or pressured to try new services. Their billing is never wrong. Everyone uses their "inside voice", so my table-time is never compromised with stressful noises. These guys get it right. Pretty good overall, but overpriced in my opinion. I came across a Groupon for Amai Day Spa and decided to buy it. I got a facial, massage, body scrub and scalp treatment at half price. Normally all of this would have cost $300. Overall I was happy with the services, though I didn't think much of the scalp treatment (not much to it). The massage and facial were very nice. It was a nice way to pamper myself. The women were all very friendly, though the woman doing my facial kept trying to sell me their "special" mineral make up even though I kept saying "no thank you". That was annoying. I did think that their prices were quite high, though probably not any more than any other similar spa. Amai is located in Country Village, and parking can be very difficult on a Saturday, so be warned. I give Amai 3 stars for the overall good experience. read more
