I have gone to Elements multiple times. Their massage therapists are fine but I will no longer be coming here. Recently I booked a massage online which was accepted and confirmed virtually. The day before the treatment, I received a call from their receptionist informing me that the therapist preferred 90 minute slots and asked if I would be willing to update my massage from 60 to 90 minutes. Otherwise they would need to reschedule me for another slot. Their other time did not work for me. While the receptionist was very friendly and polite, the reasoning that the therapists didn't want to have empty portions in their schedules felt like a bait and switch. Essentially, asking me to spend more money with the therapist to make my visit worthwhile for them. This was frustrating especially because I had already booked a 60 minute massage with upgrades. Receptionist stated this is a known issue with their online scheduling platform, which seems idiotic issue that should be fixed for a large franchise since it significantly impacts the customer experience. This is the first time it has happened, so it's possible it is a therapist by therapists preference, but be alert that they may not be able to keep your appointment. read more

I was able to book a last minute Deep Tissue Massage which was great. I appreciate that they have an online booking system. I only ever get deep tissue massages (for years & years) so I'm very used to getting them done & I'm used to the firm pressure that's used. For this massage I went in because I had very tight/tense shoulders (both). Likely due to sitting all day from work. However, the day after the massage I had a pretty bad headache & my right shoulder was bothering me (not the normal soreness after a massage. The next day the pain started to radiate into my right arm. And now the pain is a constant throbbing in only one arm. This is not normal & I have not experienced this before. I ended up having to see a doctor after 2 weeks of constant pain. The dr believes the therapist was way too aggressive & May have pinched something. I'm still in pain, it's now 3 weeks. I've always trusted my therapist & this massage went way too far, and they've caused me additional damage that is not going away. read more

I have had good experiences with massage appointments. I have been member for several years but due to reasons mentioned below I will bring my business to some other location. The big drawback I feel every time is with the front desk. Call are never answered, if answered they will put you on hold or rude in assisting you. I usually try to book multiple appointments and needs assistance with timing and massage pressure levels and the front desk seems to be irritated with the details. read more

I'm not even going to name my favorite therapists here, because they are hard enough to book as it is, lol! Just know that this location has some of the best therapists in the area. Friendly front desk staff will pair you up with someone who meets your needs. They are very clean and careful regarding the COVID mandates, and have several nice upgrades for your choosing. I personally love the CBD oil upgrade or the cupping. I feel "cured" when I leave - better than any medicine. Table can be warmed if you so choose. Like the online booking system. Check in staff very friendly. I made an appointment since I had spa week gift cards. I booked an "elite" masseuse since it fit with my schedule. She was not elite it was a normal massage. I also booked a 60 minute massage and I got into the room at 603pm and when she finished it was 652. So the massage was probably 45 minutes between getting undressed and dressed. She seemed super rushed to her next appointment. I was Keri who is supposed to be an experienced massage therapist. She did not warm the muscles up and used her elbow so deeply on my shoulder blades that they are bruised. Where she rolled my skin on my back with the sheet is bruised too. As a massage therapist you have protocols for the way you are supposed to massage not all willy nilly. You should be watching the clients body and when it is tensing up and they are t breathing you should be asking about pressure. You should always be asking about the pressure this never happened. She needs to go back and learn the basics. read more

I have never been here before but have heard high reviews and ravings from my family in general about Elements Massage so I finally decided to give it a try. Service: Anastasia called me the day before my appointment and told me Angela was taking a early maternity leave so I had to reschedule. I missed her call, called back I believe Stacy answered and we were able to still get me in on the same day, just earlier with a different therapist, Ryan! I was pretty excited I could still go in the day I planned because I was looking forward to this for over a week. Overall very accommodating and they were friendly too! Front Desk: Very friendly and checked me in right when I got there, they weren't pressuring me at all to get the membership just mentioned it once. Environment: Very laid back, really nice waiting room area. The massage table was great and I believe it was heated. Calming music was playing in the background and it was very quiet during my session. The blanket/sheets were sooo soft too. Massage: Ryan was awesome during our 90 minute session, he applied the perfect amount of pressure and it was neither too soft or too hard. He found a lot of knots and I felt so refreshed and rejuvenated afterwards. I will most definitely be back to see Ryan. I'd give 0 if I could. I purchased a gift card special as a Christmas gift. They only have a digital card option. The app you need to download is so old it wont work on new phones. I reached out to them to ask for a physical card seeing how I could not access my $200.00 card via the app and no, nothing. No one would contact me back. I made several attempts but no remedy was offered, they never even contacted me. This place is a scam and I'm out $200.00. read more

I went in with some lower back pain and the massage was somewhat helpful, but the therapist continually fell asleep. I had to keep starting conversations to wake him up. In addition, my 90 minute massage lasted less than 80 minutes, including consultation and dressing. At checkout they told me if I was not happy I could get another hour for free. Hmm, if I paid $150 for an unprofessional massage, what kind of treatment do you think I'll get for free? I passed. The saddest part of this whole experience? In an effort to avoid posting a negative review, I first emailed the business owner directly. One week later, no response. Clearly the lack of professionalism starts from the top down. read more

Thank goodness for this place! I'm so happy to have landed with the staff at Elements. My boyfriend was a member and said I should try it out - so glad I did! I have seen three different therapists, each great in their own right. My favorite is Shawn, but Julie is also terrific. I have made this part of my self care routine, getting 90 minutes massages at least once a month. The place is spotless, the staff helpful and communicative and the therapists are top notch. From the first moment to the last moment, the experience was amazing. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful on the phone and in person. Ryan, the massage therapist, was perfect. An incredibly relaxing and therapeutic whole body massage. He focused on the places I requested and still had time to relax my whole body. The place was very clean and the environment soothing, it also smelled delightful. I am very sensitive to artificial fragrances and I had zero issue with this place. I have seen multiple masseuse in this location and by far Jay (Jenni) is my favorite. Don't get me wrong, she is NOT afraid to dig into your soul. But she hits the right spots to relieve the tensions in your body that you will feel the good sore after (usually the next day). Jay is talented at what she does, quirky, and very fun to talk to during the session. But don't worry, she knows when to give your body the time to relax and fall asleep. First time I went in my massage was cut short by ten minutes. I did a review they sent me and to say sorry they gave me a free upgrade on my next massage. I booked another massage and at checkout I had a gift card which covered the whole cost of the massage. Then they said there was a premium charge for my massage therapist but nobody told me that when I booked so I said I wasn't going to pay it, so they said they waived it. Then I gave them my credit card to charge the tip and I just looked at my bank statement and they charged me $61.00. Yeah that is definitely not what I approved for a tip. Both massages were on the okay side. I wouldn't go back again. read more

I can't say enough good things about this location and the people working here. Before COVID they were good - always had a good/nice experience... When they were closed, the staff communicated with me about their status and my membership options SO MUCH better than their competitor, where I also have a monthly membership. When they did recently reopen, I was VERY happy with the location, the procedures, and most of all, the people. Of course, everything was clean - spotless - and they've put in place measures to protect their customers AND staff (VERY important to me!), but they also have the same great attitude and excellent service. Everything is "weird" and "off" right now, but these guys make it just a little bit better. An extra shout-out to my therapists, Coleman (excellent for "just deep enough" work), and most recently, Ben. This guy, although fairly new to the field, is my new savior and a true pro. I've been working through a knee injury and messed-up hips for a couple years, and he managed to fix things better than I've felt since then. He rocks. Meh. I've tried numerous therapists at this location. Big hint: if you say you like deep tissue but that you need the area warmed up first (to prevent unnecessary pain and damage to the tissue later) you can't get it here safely. I told every single therapist I saw this. I felt brutalized during most of them, even with speaking up that it was too fast. Or, I ended up with just getting a foo foo skin hydration. One therapist spent so much time on my low back it looked like I was wearing a black belt the next day, having bruised me so badly. Really?! I have millions of massages and never been bruised. And this I think there's some raw talent there but some training needs to be provided to remind the therapists that it is SOFT tissue. Warm it up, do the deep work efficiently, feel the release, and move on to the next area! I was hopeful but cancelled my membership after a few months. They need more training even though they're mostly pretty friendly and skilled. I just didn't feel like anyone got the true concept of how to give a massage. RESPONSE TO DAVID: thank you. Do not waste your time or Money! Horrible customer service and will continue to card your card months after you cancel. On multiple occasions did they book me for different appts than asked just to charge an additional $60 after the appt unauthorized. Therapists are not experienced and snotty to say the least, we don't care about your depressed cat! To stop in a massage and say your overwhelmed by my back that has nothing wrong with it as a professional is just so wrong! I had several great visits here. I left an appointment early after an interaction I was not happy with. When they texted me about it later, I described what I was not happy with in a factual, objective way and I said it was "bullshit." That was the extent of my negative interaction about it. I didn't ask for a refund, even. My point is, I did not call them and harass them or yell at their staff or call anybody names or behave in any way inappropriately except if you are offended by the word "bullshit." I sent a request to cancel my membership and two upcoming appointments. I did not criticize anyone in my request. They responded by cancelling the membership and banning me. So apparently it's not acceptable to ever be unhappy with anything that happens there or to want to take a break or they will ban you. read more

I came here for the first time to use my 80 minute massage voucher from LivingSocial. The front desk ladies greeted kindly and promptly and the wait was very minimal. The girl who massaged me was Beth and she was AMAZING. I've had many massages in the past starting in my teens to help deal with trauma, later for pregnancy and delivery, then relaxation and/or deep tissue. Beth has 20 years of experience and she was very knowledgeable with what she was doing and gave me good advice. The only thing that I didn't love about Elements is their head pillow. It seemed pretty stiff and it made my face sore and uncomfortable after a little bit into my session. This seems like a no-big-deal but if you're having a long session, it can really suck. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. They don't send you a correct appointment confirmation email ,they miss sending you an appointment confirmation email/text, they reschedule your appointment without discussing with you to get your agreement at the last moment. And if you cancel their rescheduled appointment because the timing doesn't work for you, they will tell you that you wasted their time even though it's their issue. The assistant manager at the Lynnwood location is careless, and impossible to work with. She suggested me to switch to their Maple valley location ( 1.5 hours+ driving) for a massage, which is ridiculous and a joke. I cannot believe that they let someone like this to manage. read more

Love this place! Their prices are phenomenal, the massage therapists actually care, listen and all do a fantastic job. Ive tried over 6 therapists there and all have been amazing. My favorite person to go to is Nolan. In short - they cancelled my massage because they said it was not long enough (60 minutes) even though THEY allowed me to book it online....but not without giving me the worst customer service I've received in a very long time. I booked a 60 minute massage online on September 14 for September 28 at 2pm. Later that day, I received a test from Anastasia saying it was a 90 minute slot and asking if I would "like to upgrade" to a longer session. I had intended to reply "no" but forgot. Nowhere in the text message did it say I was required to switch or that if I did not switch it would need to be rescheduled. Then, over this weekend I got a call from someone (don't remember her name), asking the same thing. She was very polite, and I told her sorry, I didn't have the time and would need to keep it 60 minutes. She said ok, sounds good see you on Tuesday. Then, this morning around 9:15 I got a call from Anastasia asking me the same thing. At this point, I am frustrated by the continuous and pushy nature of your staff. I told her that this was the third time I had been contacted about this and that I was not interested in upgrading. Anastasia hung up on me mid sentence and promptly cancelled my reservation as I got a cancellation email a few minutes later. Anastasia also changed her story from saying she thought it was a disconnect to me hanging up...but why would I hang up if I was mid-sentence? I called back about 30 minutes later and spoke with Anastasia. She told me it was a 90 minute session and I had no choice and had to either do 90 minutes or reschedule. I asked her why she hung up on me, she said she didn't and thought the call dropped. I asked her if the call dropped, why would she just cancel my reservation rather than call the customer back? She did not have an answer for me but again said I could only do a 90 minute session. I asked her if I could only do a 90 minute session, why did the person I spoke to over the weekend say it was okay to do 60 minutes? She again did not have an answer for me and instead put her Asst Manager (Amanda) on the phone. They were extremely rude, and kept cutting me off. We ran through the scenario again and she basically told me "too bad" and there was nothing she "could do to make me happy". Not only that, but she claimed the text message said I HAD to make a choice. When I called her out on that by reading the message back to her, she got very defensive. The text ASKED if I would LIKE to upgrade. Nothing about needing to. I'm blown away at the sheer lack of customer service here. I understand a 90 minute session that is only paid for 60 minutes is not the best use of their therapist's time, but allowing me to book it online is not my issue, and furthermore, that should have been communicated to me from the start. Instead, I received multiple calls, texts, and emails all confirming my reservation...and not one of them mentioned I HAD to change my time or reschedule. And to be hung up on by someone is the low of the low in customer service. If she truly thought it was a disconnect she should have called back. I sincerely hope they re-consider the employment or at least re-train these two associates as well are re-tool their messaging. I understand that there may be limitations to their booking software, and that should be communicated from the start. Even then, it is still poor customer service to allow someone to book something online and then tell them it needs to be changed simply because you are paying your Therapist for 30 mins not to be used... read more

Another 5 star experience at Elements Alderwood. I love my massages with both Mandy and Jenny. Both are level 4 (heavy pressure). Today I had an amazing massage with Jenny. I wanted a therapist that could really work at the knots. She was the person for the job!  I know it was a full of hour of hard work but she did it.  I'm grateful to say I can take a good full deep breath now and feel completely relaxed even after a deep pressure massage. read more

I went here because I have shoulder pain from working on a computer all day. I asked for a masseuse with hard pressure and I got one. The only problem I had was that I explained the pain spot and he massaged everywhere except my shoulder. His logic was that the supporting muscles need loosening. I am sure he is correct but I was looking for immediate pain relief which I did not get. I am starting to think that I should not tell any masseuse my pain spot. Because they all massage the supporting muscles and leave me to fend my pain :( If anyone knows of a masseuse that will massage the pain, please let me know. I am sick and tired of spending money and getting no relief. I am in so much pain :( read more

Update 1/7/2019 The Manager offered to let me schedule with my prefered therapist and seems open to working things out. For the time being I will only book with therapist that I know is Great. My experience with Shawn. It is the opposite of one of the reviews that I saw written. It is hard for me to imagine that we were "massaged" by the same Shawn. It was such an odd experience that I actually decided to look up to see whether he had a license or not. He seemed exhausted and during my appointment let me know that he was going to be there from 9am to 9pm. He talked so much and kept asking me if I had any questions. Any thought of drifting off and relaxing was out the door. I learned a lot-- about how he is studying medicine and how he interns in emergency medicine and that he had bills for medical school. So I did empathize with his situation. He started the 5-minute consultation in the beginning. I mentioned my problem area and he told me that I should see a doctor about it. Fair enough. I also mentioned what one of the other massage therapist had said about my condition, thinking that this was helpful. He quickly told me that that person didn't know what they were talking about and that he, Shawn The Medical Student, would decide. I like the other therapist and felt that was really disrespectful to his peer and colleague; to basically throw that person under the bus. At one point, he then proceeded to try to diagnose my issue in detail, using a lot of medical jargon. I appreciated this part. I asked him to write it down so that I could show my doctor-- I didn't understand the terminology that he was using, but I wanted my medical doctor to have the explanation that Shawn was taking up so much time in my session diagnosing, so it would be worth it (the fact that he was not massaging me during a lengthy amount of the session) and my doctor would have something to go on. Then when I received the written recommendation, it was disappointing because it was info I had actually found out on google myself, sans the detail and medical terminology. He continued to talk and tell me about the anatomy books that he was studying-- a fascinating conversation for a coffee shop for sure!, however, I was there for one reason and one reason only, to get relief from my tension that was causing me pain, and this was preventing me from drifting off and relaxing. One thing to note is that, as a massage therapist, he didn't seem to know what to do or where to begin. I had mentioned my problem areas and he gave little or no attention to either areas that I mentioned. He seemed to want to give me a head massage-- which was pretty bad. He noticed that my shoulders were tense and pushed them down. This made me think that he was going to work on them. He didn't. Also earlier he mentioned that if I was comfortable with him working on my upper pectorals (and I was), yet he barely touched my shoulders except to squirt cool globs of lotion in my clavicles... When I asked him what he was doing, he got defensive and said that he couldn't massage dry! He is the only massage therapist that squirted product directly on me during a session. It is the custom that they warm it up with their hands first. Also flash to the part where he just dropped cool oil on my back and rubbed it around like an amateur. I paid for an hour and he kept saying that there really wasn't enough time to do anything. Wha??? I kept thinking that I need to trust him, that he would make it right. The cornerstone of being a massage client is that you have to trust your therapist. He mentioned a couple times how he wanted to talk to my husband about my condition so that my husband could help me. Shawn probably saw that as a nice gesture, but to me it came off that the menfolk needed to have a chat; it came off as a bit sexist. I told him that my husband already knows and that could he please write what he is telling me down so I could just show my doctor. At this point, I'm still thinking that he is going to write it down. Also, note that during the session, when I asked for more pressure, I felt ignored. That, combined with not feeling like I got very much massaging in that hour left me still in pain that I came in with. Just for comparison, when I have seen other massage therapists in the past, they have been able to relieve my symptoms after an hour of work for the majority of 2 weeks before my tension starts to creep back. I received little to no relief after my appointment. Also, I thought: maybe he was uncomfortable working on my trouble area-- but then again, that should have still been in my file with the office. That means that I shouldn't have been scheduled with him or he should have mentioned it in the beginning of the session when I told him verbally. The front desk has definitely lost credibility with me on recommendations. I would've booked with my Favored Therapist, but our schedules did not align, so I decided to trust the front desk. - read more

Shawn a therapist at Alderwood location is excellent! I have been a client for years and had some relief but not complete relief. I recently started seeing Shawn at the Alderwood location. Shawn has been the only therapist who has been able to target my areas of therapeutic need and get them to relax. With Shawns massage technique and his ability to find my trigger spots of muscle memory and function I am now feeling better in-between sessions and can focus more on relaxing massage instead of therapeutic. The front office staff on Saturday evenings are always pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this location to everyone. The hours of availability for any therapist are very helpful for those who work other than 9-5. I really can't imagine going anywhere else. read more

This review is no way intended for my massage therapist. I've been there twice now and had a wonderful massage experience each time. The front desk receptionist however, has put such a sour taste in my mouth, so unfortunately I will not be returning. The first time I went there, she was cold and impersonal. I brushed it off. The second time I went there, I tried to buy three massages for myself and my two daughters. I wanted us to get our massages all three together. She was unaccommodating, and at one point in our conversation, downright rude to me. I do not appreciate how she handled the situation, and as someone in customer service my entire life, in the beauty industry, I was highly dissatisfied with her disrespect. If you don't enjoy your job, at least try to fake it. read more

Came here for a birthday massage after finding a Living Social offer. When I called to schedule the appointments (my best friend came for a massage as well) the girl on the phone was incredibly friendly, asked questions about how much pressure we wanted for massage, what type of massage, etc. in order to select appropriate therapists for us. When we arrived the facility was extremely clean and gave a very tranquil feel as if to get you mentally in the mood for relaxation the second you walk in the door. I worked with Tags, who was awesome. She walked me back to the room, asked me questions regarding my expectations for the session, asked about problem areas, etc. and then left so I could get undressed. She was very professional the entire time, asking if the pressure was appropriate, making sure to carefully uncover areas that were being worked on while not exposing others. She noticed some tension in my right leg and right shoulder and asked if I had a leg injury in the past and if I worked at a desk (yes and yes), and offered me some tips on how to alleviate the tension in my legs and shoulders. At the end of the session she gave me a handy little sheet with the areas where my body needed extra work as well as follow-up instructions for any post-massage aches and pains that many people have. I scheduled a follow-up appointment in a few weeks to go in again and I can't wait! read more

Booked a couple of 90-minute massages after getting a great Groupon deal for a friend's birthday. We took a 9 AM appt- the first of the day. The front desk lady was polite, but the first thing she told us was "you should've been here 15 minutes before your service to fill out an intake form." We were about 5 minutes til and the intake form was one page long. We literally took four minutes to fill it out. Other than that, it was a perfectly wonderful service! My massage therapist was Lindsay, a blond, bespectacled sweetheart who adjusted the bed temp for me and offered to also adjust lights and volume if needed. She was great at not only asking where my trouble spots were, but finding the ones I didn't know about. Like my lower back. And my shins. I was like, REALLY?! She also checked to make sure the pressure was right- I figure I needed it to hurt so good today and she delivered. What was amazing was the work she did on the front of my neck and my jawline to ease the tension from clenching my teeth. She was fantastic and my body felt so good afterwards! Still does! She gave me a little sheet with "x"s marked where my trouble spots were and showed me some exercises to do to help with them. You will love her! Just ask for Lindsay! read more

I screwed up my neck so bad that it was affecting the nerves going down into my arm and hands. It was very painful and it would take weeks to get in with a massage therapist. I was also in between PT appointments and just needed some relief. I got a same day appointment here after Massage Envy had to cancel my appointment 2 hours before I was set to go in. So, right off the bat, I was a fan of this location. I got Eli and he was very personable, which helped helped me feel comfortable communicating throughout the massage. I explained the where the pain was and the areas it was affecting. He described which points he would target and seemed to know exactly what the problem was. He was very open to feedback and constantly checked in about pressure and pain. Afterwards, the pain was gone and I felt normal again. Such a relief! I booked another appointment right away. Can't recommend Eli enough! I used to go to Massage Envy, even though I found the staff to be awkward, distracted, rushed, and sometimes down right creepy. Now I realize that Massage Envy just sucks and most massage therapists are friendly, personable, and most importantly, not creepy. I'm now converted to Elements massage and will recommend them over other places. read more
