Puh-leeze ask for Hannah if you book for your first service here! On Thursday evening I was calling salons but they were all booked out beyond the new year. I wanted to get a color and cut before Christmas. I called Vibe Salon and they scheduled me for 5pm the next day! I arrived on time, I was seated immediately, and Hannah got to work. My second time coming to this salon and I had my hair done by Kelly. I've gotten to so many hair stylist but this by far his been my favorite outcome. My hair is super stubborn when it comes to highlights. My hair always turns out brassy after a few washes. But Kelly dyed my hair in a way that it has stayed this color for weeks now! She also recommended products to help maintain my hair that I ended up really loving as well. The flow of the highlights with my natural dark hair just blends so well. The way she cut my hair allows my to have that effortless updo when I style it with a claw clip. The owner, Kelly, keeps contacting me, begging me to remove my review, but also validating my complaint. She's now saying some keratin treatment she has is just like a Brazilian Blowout. Claims that products were recalled, etc. She doesn't know what she's taking about. She messaged me at 7:30 am. Who does this if it's not an emergency? She knows nothing about running a business. And, her hairdresser, Lisa..... don't get me started on this piece of work. I should have filled assault charges against her for how she was pushing my head around. I left with a splitting headache. I called Kelly to complain and she practically laughed at me. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! I have also heard them talking about clients. They aren't nice words, either. I went to this salon for about a year. I saw Kelly every time. She did a great job highlighting my blonde hair. At every appointment, Kelly was running late. I spent so much time waiting for Kelly. She was always overbooked and scheduled people during my appointment time. I always panicked while waiting too long for my foil to process. One time, she had to mix my color 3 times because it sat too long. My last appointment was cancelled at the last minute by Kelly. I didn't get a timely response to reschedule. I called the salon, Ashley answered and said she could get me in the next day. Here is where my nightmare begins! I was on my way to the salon, get a text that Ashley missed the ferry and she would be delayed. I went to Target to kill an hour before going to the salon. For the next several hours, it went from bad to worse! Ashley decided to do some kind of intense color correction, (not discussed with me) I only wanted a partial foil to match my existing color. Fast forward 7 HOURS of being insulted, almost in tears from her rough hair washing/styling. She was very unruly and loud, she'd just blurt out lyrics to music playing. Not at all a tranquil Salon experience. I just wanted to walk out, but she apparently had this "vision" for my hair. She was on a mission to make me a full blonde. By the end of the appointment, she got so mean and said she had to go. Excuse me??? I just spend 5 unexpected hours being verbally abused and listening to her very unprofessional life stories! I was honestly terrified to be in the salon alone with her. It was finally time to pay and get out of there! She charged me more than double what I usually paid! $450! I did. It budget for that! I only had my debit card. Ashley didn't want me to pay thru the salons Square system. She asked me to use Zelle. I agree, as I'm in tears and just want to get out of there. While trying to add her to my Zelle contacts, she refused to heave me her last name. Zelle, in turn flagged it as fraudulent, but still the funds were gone from my account. Being this was all the money I had, Ashley made me call my bank., which was closed. She started yelling telling me she needed to be paid now! Really, I was in tears stuck in this situation! She got more angry by the second. She said my bank must have a 24 hour customer service line. She didn't believe me. Zelle is an entirely separate system. She demanded to see my card. She then ran it thru Square without asking me! The funds were already on hold from the botched Zelle transaction. I said I was trying to leave a tip (just as a courtesy) she yelled "I don't even want your tip" "I just want you to leave" WOW! I had to just sit in my car to clear my head before driving home! It was like a bad dream... Unbelievable! This appointment was in July of 2022. I have spent almost an entire year trying to grow my color out. I tried another salon, they won't even highlight it due to all of the damage and breakage. I don't feel good about myself with my drab natural hair color on the top and bright over bleached hair in the middle and bottom. If you go to this salon, which has a beautiful view of the water, I would highly recommend Lizette! My daughter goes to her, she is calm, knowledgeable and talented! read more

Today was my first time visiting Vibe salon. I had an appointment scheduled for this morning, but my original hairstylist did not arrive (unsure of why-hopefully she is okay!). Kelly was able to fit me in between her other clients and gave me an awesome haircut and a really lovely experience overall. She took it all in stride and took her time perfecting my cut, which i was thankful for. It is a great salon with a relaxed atmosphere and a beautiful view. They one star for a great location. I made my appointment online for 7 pm on Thursday. I received a text message from the owner that morning she had a conflict and needed to switch me to another stylist, but the other stylist wasn't available until Friday. I agree because I really needed a haircut. I show up to the salon after rushing after work, only to find the salon closed and empty. This is twice now that Kelly has gone above and beyond. When I first went to her salon, about a month ago, she got me in last minute for a haircut and style, for an event I was going to. Let me tell you, this lady has skills. My hair looked amazing. Fast forward to last night and she got me last minute to wash and blow dry for me because I recently had surgery and couldn't do it myself. In addition to being a hair genius, she is also so super sweet and kind. She didn't have to work me in, but she did. She helped me feel like a person again. I called to book an appointment on Tuesday asking when the soonest I could come in was. Kelly answered and said she'd check if Ashley had time for me on Wednesday. Kelly even offered to have me come in at 7:30pm (the appointment would run past closing as I needed a cut and highlights) so she could do my hair herself if Ashley didn't have any time for me Wednesday. After checking with Ashley, we decided that Wednesday could work. When I got there, the salon was beautiful and very clean and organized. Immediately Kelly and Ashley made me feel so welcome and comfortable. I was a bit nervous because I had dyed my hair myself a couple years ago and there was still left over black box dye and it would be difficult to blend it nicely, but Ashley reassured me that she could make it work. We both understood that it wouldn't be perfect because of that (but in the end, Ashley blended so well that you can barely see the difference). Overall, I let Ashley dictate most of what was going to be done with my hair and just set the baseline: blonde highlights that look natural and aren't too blonde, the max I'd want to cut off etc. Ashley made a plan and ran it by me. Even throughout doing my hair, she checked it with me and made it easy, comfortable, and natural for me to give feedback. At salons, I'm usually very quiet but Ashley was so bubbly, friendly, and outgoing that i felt comfortable enough to engage in conversation. Additionally, I get anxious if I'm in one space for too long and Ashley was so understanding of that and agreed to take a five minute break. After blow drying my hair, Ashley offered to tone my hair again if it was too blonde but it was perfect. Ashley did an amazing job and I have never been so satisfied and happy with my results. You can tell that The Vibe's staff take pride in their work (for good reason) and take their time with it and go above and beyond. The Vibe was a very pleasant experience and gives amazing results; my hair has never looked or felt better. I would absolutely recommend it to anybody who's looking for a new salon. read more

i've been contemplating whether or not to write a review on my experience at the vibe salon. but after seeing others write reviews on their experiences here, i felt that this was the right thing to do. in may, my mom went into the vibe salon for a cut and then had a separate appointment on a different day to get her hair lightened. on the day she got her hair cut, she had to wait 20 minutes past her scheduled time to been seen by kelly. when she was getting her hair cut, kelly only gave my mom a dry cut, no wash, and charged her $70. during this appointment, my mom had a conversation with kelly about her future appointment for her hair color and they had a whole plan in place to touch up my mom's grays and to go more blonde. kelly was even aware of the exact day and time of this appointment. after my mom found a new salon to go to, i was excited because i was so desperate to refresh my color. i scheduled an appointment for a color on the morning of the day my mom was supposed to go in for her color. (she was going in that evening) for reference, i'm a redhead who dyes her hair dark brown every few months or so, so on the day i was going to get my hair color dyed, my dark brown was incredibly faded into a light brown, and some of my red was showing too. all i wanted was to do an all over dark brown color. on the day of my 10:30am appointment with kelly, i showed up at 10:15. it took about 20 minutes for someone to simply acknowledge that i was standing in the lobby. and when i was acknowledged, i was told that kelly was running behind and that i had to wait. i didn't get sent back to do my hair until 11. when i was in the chair, i told kelly that i wanted an all over dark brown color. but she thought my hair would look better if i were to leave some of my current hair in as highlights and only do the dark brown over the top layer of my hair. this wasn't something i was totally sold on, but it seemed like i would have a hard time telling her no so i went along with it. after getting my hair all colored, it looked gorgeous from the front and i was actually pretty happy with how it turned out. however, my suspicions were raised when after my hair was dried and styled, kelly came back with more dye and told me she "missed a spot" and covered a portion of my dry hair with dye and simply sent me home afterward, with the dye still in. i was only charged $160 which was a lot less when i expecting, and i was incredibly grateful. until a couple weeks later, when my mom noticed & took a picture of my hair (the photo that i inserted in the review). my hair was so splotchy and uneven. just huge spots of red everywhere mixed in with my dark brown. literally the most trashy dye job i've ever gotten done. no way would i EVER spend $160 on this, and i am so angry that i did. if you thought that was all, there's more. later that night, my mom went in for her color appointment with kelly (that they both talked about prior) and kelly was nowhere to be seen. my mom waited for 45 minutes in the lobby until ashley approached her and told her that kelly WENT HOME. ashley called kelly and kelly answered and told my mom that it was her reservation system's fault and that she never does colors in the evenings. EVEN THOUGH KELLY PLANNED THIS WHOLE THING WITH MY MOM. kelly took no accountability and blamed the situation on everything she could instead of owning up to her mistake, and she never apologized to my mom. but ashley was wonderful, because even though she was supposed to go home, she stayed behind to only touch up my mom's hair (she couldn't do the whole thing which we totally understand). but my mom was charged another $90 for her hair, she was charged for something she didn't even get and was sent home with wet hair. my mom and i are so upset with this salon and we would never recommended it to anybody. and if you are looking at this salon to get your hair done, i strongly encourage that you don't book kelly. not unless you want to pay a crap ton of money for terrible looking hair. read more

I reached ASHLEY at VIBE and got my socks knocked off by her friendly and CARING attitude. She let me text her photos of my before hair and what I wanted it to be - more or less. Ashley was super sweet during the very long process. She always made sure to explain step by step what she was doing during my hair transformation to be sure that it would turn out to be of my liking. She advised me of what my next appointment in the future would entail in order for me to achieve the end result that I seek. She is extremely hospitable and truly a talented breath of fresh air. I know that I enjoyed my daughter's birthday even more because of this wonderful lady and her kind spirit. I can't wait to see what my next visit with her brings! I'd been going to this salon for years before Kelly bought it. The first time she did my hair, it turned out nicely, and I don't think I had to wait too long for the appointment to begin. The second time however! I got to the salon 5-10 minutes early. I checked in then waited outside because it was a beautiful day. Time passed. At 15 minutes after my appointment I peeked in to see if Kelly was just finishing up. She looked up at me but didn't say a word. After 30 minutes I asked the person who was not currently working if I had the wrong day. Nope. I looked at Kelly who looked at me--nothing. I don't know why I stayed, but at 45-50 minutes later, Kelly comes out and asks me if I'm finally ready. !!!! I said I've been waiting nearly an hour! She leans in to me, staring right in my face as if she was trying to intimidate me. I still don't know why I stayed. I went to this salon based on some of the pictures provided after being hesitant because of some of the reviews. But the salon was able to get me an appointment right away so I booked it. I went in with over a little grown roots and blonde that kind of turns to brassy on the bottom. Kelly quoted me 255 via my picture over the phone. When I got there I waited over 30 minute because she said was a hiccup in scheduling but the fact that she texted me to come in a day earlier instead of my appointment day showed she wasn't ready to take me in but seem to have jammed me in. I wanted to make my hair a little lighter and basically a full balayage but she talked about how other salons don't put time into their work blah blah when I got in promising me a beautiful outcome.. as I was in the process of her just brushing bleach over my already highlights that was little brassy she took in 2 other clients and kept us in a chain of coloring, washing, drying and more. I can tell she just squeezed everyone in for her profit and I did not appreciate it felt cared for. I was waiting extra on each step concerned for the outcome. My hair looked a little brighter but the color was still the same and still how it looked before with uneven look. She toned it to make it look a little different which I could of done myself from Sally's for about 12$z I was charged 255 not including tip for just a few brush on highlights and tone and my hair looked about the same the next day. I was really hoping to find a place nothing like this one and ended up being at a place that cares nothing about your time and tricking with look it looks beautiful at the end lol. COLOR CORRECTION!? Kelly is the HOLY GRAIL, don't look elsewhere. Trust me on this. I was terrified, googled for days didn't know who to trust didn't want my healthy hair bleached to a dead frizz. I called several other salons, even emailed with no response. Gave vibe a call, they answered right away I explained my situation. Died my ash blonde hair black a few months prior and my hair was now growing out and had a terrible root line that was dramatic. I needed help and a good hair color correction. Kelly said to come in at 4:30 and she will help. She worked on my hair from 5pm-11pm SIX HOURS, she didn't fry my hair she took her time and knows what she is doing. To be completely honest with you she is a hair ARTIST. She achieved an amazing color in my hair that I thought wasn't possible AND has the best customer service. Love a good open minded hair dresser, the conversations flowing and the laughs were endless. Kelly is my go to chick these days! She can achieve what you think isn't possible, don't come expecting a quick half ass fix, you need time and to accept the process if you're doing a color correction like I did. Loved having Kelly paint my hair and get it back on track to what I loved before I decided to try a way too dark hair color for my skin tone etc. I also chatted with another lady who works in the shop (she does lashes) and she was very welcoming and fun to chat with. I really wanted to like this place because I want to support local salons but my experience here was so bad I have to share in hopes their stylists start respecting clients time. I appreciate my stylist wanted to do a good job on my hair but I was at the salon until 12 am!!!! Yes my appointment started at 5:30 pm and I didn't leave until after midnight. Like, how on earth is that even close to a reasonable amount of time to do a full foil: I was going to have my haircut also, but by 10:30 pm I told her to just forget it because I need to go to bed. I'm a busy working mom with a 20 month old, so I literally do not have time to spend 7 hours at salon to get my hair done. This place needs to recognize that their clients time is also valuable. I will never get that 7 hours or lost sleep back. To top it all off my hair doesn't even look that great! I asked for a rose gold color and what I got was an overly processed blonde with a couple pink streaks in the front. read more

Having had such an experience in the past, I was nervous about finding a new stylist after moving to Washington. Luckily, I read some reviews on Yelp and gave Leslie F. a call at J Paul Salon. Wahoo, I found a new hairdresser on the first try! No tears at all! Leslie is very sweet, and gave me a great cut. I have long, layered hair, and I like to go months between cuts. She clearly understood how to give me the cut I wanted, checking in with me frequently to make sure she and I were still on the same page.
