The owner and her daughter, wonderful people. Very pleasant to talk to and were very personable. The atmosphere? Amazing! Modern and simple design inside with several chairs. My review is based on the service... it was not good. I came in asking for money pieces and a calico under neath. The owners daughter did my hair, mostly.... It was supposed to be an estimated 3-4 hour appointment, hourly color correction is how she wanted to charge me. I was fine with that after our consultation and she explained why. So first part fine, I just sat there talking. But when she finishes rinsing the color and toner, I stared in the mirror and just as she was looking at it she got quiet. She started showing me and I just started crying. I was 3 hours into my appointment and my money pieces were yellow. The calico was supposed to be blonde, red, and brown. It was yellow, pink, and brown. She said she didn't know why the red didn't take. I had to walk out to collect myself. I came in a minute later and they offered to tone it more and add more red. Now we were past the 4 hours. She had other appointments coming in and I had to sit and wait in between customers. The owner (her mom) came and helped between but I ended up sitting there for 6 hours in total. My hair was still nothing like any of the photos. I just wanted to leave so I said that was fine. I didn't want to keep waiting between other clients because she didn't leave enough time to work on my hair. I never took photos of the final color result because I hated it so much, wish I did now. The stylist did take a photo to show me the back at the end of the appointment,but I never got one. But now about 5 weeks later I decided to get it fixed, and I was shocked! This new stylist asked who did my hair and where because the cut was so bad and jagged and absolutely chopped in the back. I obviously don't look at the back of my head very much so I had no idea. I walked around like this for weeks with not a clue. I paid HUNDREDS of dollars and even left a tip because I felt it was a genuine interaction. She just doesn't know how to do hair is really the only thing I can figure at this point. She did offer to fix it but she didn't say for free so I wasn't going to come back and pay more money when it was already a very bad experience. Why would I trust you to fix it? During the consultation I told them both I had a very bad experience with someone a few months prior and I was nervous to try another salon. I trusted them and they sounded confident... I've had both Rachael and Peyton cut my hair and I love both of them and the haircuts I get. They've always really listened to me and given me exactly what I asked for, and the times I haven't really known, they ask me this or that questions to figure it out. And especially with Peyton there have been times I told her to just do what she thought would look good and I've always been blown away and thrilled with the results. They also both excel at cutting wavy and curly hair--and making me feel good about my waves, rather than just straightening them out all the time. Most recently (July 2024) they did a balayage on my virgin hair. It was something they've both recommended to me for years, but that I was nervous about. Still, I wanted to try something new this summer and go lighter as I've always kind of wanted to go blonde. But I was worried about the color coming out too cool and clashing with my natural warm skin tone and freckles, so I asked for a golden, strawberry blonde. They got the color exactly right!!! I'm so happy with it and it looks really natural. Two months later, I'm still getting compliments on it at my job. For anyone wondering about the salon itself, it's very clean and has a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. They use Kevin Murphy products which are excellent. And personally, I love all the brick. 12/10 would recommend! read more

This salon is the cutest little place. Very intimate and clean. The products they use and sell have changed my hair for the better. I seriously cannot say anything bad about this place at all. Rachel is amazing. I love that I found someone that really takes care of my hair and makes me feel welcomed in her salon. She is very approachable and honest. She always communicates during your service to make sure you are getting what you want, but also what is reasonable and best for you me hair. I always leave their feeling like my best self. Rachel, as well as her salon, deserve praise for being such an affordable and caring salon here in the heart of our little city. i've always just gone to cheap salons for cheap haircuts and always walked out hating it. today i finally decided to go to a more expensive salon. and it was worth it! i just came in on a whim without making an appointment (that's my bad) and rachel was very kind and helped me make one right away. Peyton was my stylist and as someone who generally is really nervous about taking, i actually thoroughly enjoyed the conversation. and i'm very happy with my haircut. i honestly didn't know what i wanted done - i just wanted to like my hair again. and after my appointment today, i definitely did. i told her i wanted my curtain bangs cut but wasn't sure how long or short they should be, and i didn't really have any answers to her questions because i wasn't sure what i wanted... but she was very patient with me and after telling her to just do whatever felt right, she gave me a lovely haircut with exactly the result i was hoping for. she even curled my hair at the end for me (with permission lol) which i didn't plan on but was happy to have done, and the products she used smelled and felt great! the salon itself was very cute, had good music playing, and was super comfortable. my haircut (trim and styling) was $60, and completely worth it. I came in for a hair appointment with Rachael on 7-7-2021. I have to say, I'm not satisfied. The highlight color is too light. I was hoping for a deeper caramel/copper tones. The highlight placement is also heavier on one side. My haircut is unbalanced in the layers. The cut honestly is pretty off and it has to be parted on the side for it not look totally choppy. The color placement just doesn't make sense to me. There's a huge patch of brown in the very front of my hairline. And the color is nowhere near the color that we discussed. Actually, when the light hits it it looks sort of mossy gray on the ends and then really brassy up top at my roots. In addition to spending over $400 I got a $40 parking ticket because I waited an HOUR after my service was supposed to start. I at first asked for it to be fixed but thinking it over I didn't want it to get further messed up and asked for a refund. Rachael refused. I have never left a salon feeling the way I did. I'm not a bold person by nature but this situation calls for me to stand up for myself and what I feel is right, which is a refund. You may have a policy for 20 years but I have had numerous times in my life where it called for more heart and less policy. *The first picture attached is what color I asked for. The rest are the hair color & cut I received. We've have emailed, I went into the salon to discuss refund and still refused. Asked her to make me an offer to make this right, she only offered to fix it. No one wants their hair fixed by someone who messed it up so horribly. She offered to have another stylist fix is. Again I reside because she has given the whole salon a bad name. The reputation of the salon has been soiled. Rachael is also the salon owner. read more

So happy for Rachael to have her own place. It looks wonderful inside. The exposed brick and the wood. Her father make the most amazing wood frames for the tall mirror that are at each work station. I only called yesterday and made my appointment. She was able to get me in in the morning. The lobby is very comfortable with a cushy couch and 2 chairs. Music playing overhead but not too loud. Rachael did a fabulous job as usual. She is very easy to talk to, I usually feel uncomfortable making small talk with whoever is cutting my hair but she makes it very comfortable and easy! read more

I really contemplated writing this review since I like Rachel as a person and think she is of good nature, regardless, I will. I came in with virgin hair asking for an ombré, I knew it would take multiple sessions to get me to my desired lift since I'm Mexican with dark hair. I loved Rachel but she didn't really handle my hair with care , when brushing or washing and blow drying. The kind of hurried brushing on dry hair. When we went to wash out my hair she was very aggressive, I expected a relaxing wash , same with the application of my toner. My first lightening came out fine at the top, I still couldn't wear my hair down as it looked stripy. My whole bottom half of my head was two shades lighter than my top half. I don't mean that it was some sort of transition or gradient looking ,no, they were two sets of solid colors with stripes of orange in between. She didn't time it right and took my foils on top off before time. I wasn't worried as I'm in the military and wear my hair in a bun every day to work and was expecting a resolve at my next appointment. At my next session she started the foils , and became worried as she reached the top of my head without asking where my part laid. I shook it off since I had told her at my first appointment ;I know very little of hairdressing and assumed it wouldn't affect my final look, that was my fault in assuming she was the expert and knew what she was doing. I became most disappointed when I overheard her tell someone I was going platinum, again didn't question it since yes , my ends were supposed to end up platinum. She finished my foils, and she got me washed and toned. I had showed her again my photos and hat I was expecting she nodded her head, but I didn't feel she was paying attention to what I was saying. We came back to the chair and was blow dried. I came out looking like a orange/yellow HIGHLIGHTER on top and a ash blond at the bottom with stripes of orange. Of course I was very cordial and polite about my look, I told her it was too orange at the top which was all I could really see at the time, I only noticed the back when I got home. She offered to do a shadow root but honestly I found my hair to be un salvageable. I wasn't willing to let her touch my hair at that point. The only thing I could do was complement the hair out of embarrassment and to avoid a scene. I had been there about six hours, I couldn't handle anymore. I want it to be known that this wasn't just a bad color outcome there was no technique. My roots are all uneven from where my hair parts, I shouldn't even have had roots showing it was supposed to be a gradient / transition from my natural hair as I explained to her both with words and pictures multiple times, during both sessions. Since I have to go back to work next week , I had to find someway to fix my hair. I went to Sally's, even the Sally's worker asked me what I had done to my hair and reassured me I was not ombré. I'm very disappointed in myself more than Rachel, for thinking that over twenty years of experience as advertised on her website was credible enough to make her a good hairdresser. I chose to get my hair done by her specifically to avoid something like this. As I am in the military it is very difficult to find an appointment that lines up with my schedule , even if it's booked weeks in advance as it's ever changing and based on luck. I chose ombré because it's not high maintenance with growth, for the schedule reasons. I wish no Ill will towards Rachel but I cannot recommend her for hair , in my case, ombré. read more

One of the worst haircuts I've ever gotten, might as well have gone to Supercuts.... Rachael was almost a half hour late too so she didn't even get to finish styling my hair and completely rushed through the entire cut with no real apology and still charged me full price. They also don't follow COVID protocols and even though they have a huge salon to seat people in I was within two feet of the only other customer in the place getting her hair cut next to me. I would have had a better day flushing $80 down the toilet... asked for layers and it looks like a blunt straight edged cut. Super bummed out and just really glad that I have long hair and can get it fixed somewhere else and just lose some more length and money. read more

I had been seeing the same hair person for 18 years but I was really sick of driving to Renton. I tried another Everett Salon and it became not so great. I came into En Vie after booking with Jessica. Not only is Jessica a solid person, she is a master at hair, especially if you like vivid not "normal" colors. IE, red, purple etc. The salon it self is so cute and in an amazing historic downtown Everett building. It's clean, parking is easy as long as you READ the time allotted on the sign. Jessica went above and beyond to "fix" yes, I use that term loosely because there was nothing "wrong" we just didn't quite get the color as vivid as we wanted. No fault or Jessica, it's my hair being my hair. She spent over 2.5 hours of her time getting the look we wanted. I will forever sing the praises of this salon and Jessica. Rachel is the best! I followed her from her previous salon, and am thrilled that she has opened her own place. I met Rachel when I was looking for help in fixing damage my previous stylist had done. A bad bleach process had caused my hair to break off to the scalp in places. Rachel worked with me to get my hair healthy and strong, while satisfying my desire for fun, funky color. When I met her 3 years ago, I had a short pixie cut, and today my hair has grown past my shoulders. She's a genius with color too! I've had purple, fire engine red, blonde, and a variety of shades of pink. Her new salon is absolutely gorgeous, is easy to get to, and has lots of street parking. Excellent , very friendly & professional service . I will be returning to this new salon ( probably many times !) Convenient location . Got an appointment quickly. I liked that it was NOT one of those loud salons. I've been in places where the music & clatter was so bad, I could hardly hear my stylist. The color & products that Rachel used left my hair so soft. I went to this salon on Saturday as my stylist Jessica works here. The vibe is awesome and it is decorated in a rustic fashion. Downtown Everett and real easy to find. They offer water, coffee, tea and wine. Jessica is absolutely awesome. She took my hair from a mushroom brown to a silver gray in about 2 hours. She's real great about letting people know what kind of damage it might do to your hair and what kind of follow up care you need to do (special shampoos, deep conditioning, etc). read more
